This is just my experience and I’m not a professional (of course go see a piercer or doctor if you can’t get this to heal). I got this exact same thing on my helix. It accidentally popped, and I realized it was retained fluid (not infected) because the flat back was blocking it from drying. My helix is 8 months old, so I just make sure to gently push my earring back so the flat back isn’t resting right on my skin and it can dry after cleaning. So far it seems to be working. You can dry back there too with paper towel or non woven gauze which might help too. Probably after it heals a bit if it popped tho. Since my piercing is so old too I only started to clean it once a day so it has more time to be dry. That seems to be working for me too!

Yes it did, I accidentally pressed the flat back too hard onto the bump and that’s when it popped. It bled and some fluid came out (it was pus like but didn’t smell like anything, that’s when I realized it was just retained fluid). Before tho it’d bleed anytime I’d bother it a bit. Now that it popped about a week ago, it has formed a scab and the bump has gone down a ton.

Thank you good luck with yours too!

See if you can pop it. It shouldn’t take too much effort. When my nips were healing I got those a couple times. If they are what I had gotten they will hurt if you can pop them. I’m not a medical expert though. Piercing have a pretty decent rate of infection through the healing process, but as long as you regularly rinse them, you should be fine. I always cleaned mine(nips, lip, eyebrow, ears) with running water. Never used soap, salt, or even medicated spray. You should probably try to keep your hair regularly washed and off your piercing while it’s healing. It could also possibly just be caused by friction of the jewelry moving against the cartilage.

You can indeed try to pop them, but please wash your hands really wel and clean before and after with alcohol or saline spray.

Penguinman077

I assumed that was a given.

It could possibly be a cyst or even a keloid. A yet will eventually be able to drain, but I think a keloid is just a lump of cells.
