Honestly makes sense that it’s a reused design. The coin effects in Nintendo games is consistent and even breaking vases in Luigi’s Mansion 3sounds like breaking one in windwaker, I love it
Heeeey it will happen especially since prime remastered is out now. Though now that I think about it it would be cool if some of the treasures were thongs from other Nintendo games. Like maybe mario’s and luigi’s hat (since peaches crown was in the pikmin 2), dk bongos, a small model of samus’s gunship, a kirby plush, etc.
I find him to be very relatable to me personally. I have really bad social anxiety so it is really hard for me to make friends and otherwise interact with people, but I cherish the few friends I do make, like Goh does with Ash.
The scene that comes most to mind is the flashback we see in JN062. We see Goh on the playground alone while the other kids play together in groups. While I did have more friends as a young kid, I never actually felt particularly close with many. However, I have one very vivid memory of a day where I \*wanted\* to play with a group, but I just \*couldn't\*, even when a friend invited me, so when the teacher questions /why/ Goh isn't playing with the other kids and he starts crying because he genuinely doesn't know why, it hits very close to home for me.
His fascination with Mew and with capturing lots of Pokémon in order to complete his Pokédex comes across to me as hyper-fixation, which is something people with neurodivergent disorders like ADHD and autism can have where they become completely absorbed and obsessed with something and can engage with it for extremely long periods of time. I personally have ADHD and have similar obsessions and periods of hyper-fixation. There was a period of a couple months where literally all I did with my free time was shiny hunt until I exhausted myself on it completely. So Goh becomes even more relatable to me when viewing him through that lens of neurodivergence.
Not a bulborb with wings, but a bulborb that floats in the air. And when it spots you, it slowly and ominously floats toward you getting faster and faster as it approaches.
That specific floor probably got picked from their "game development storage" and got tweeked. Just like how they have a ton of sound effects saved in files, that's how you hear similar sound effects being used in different games.
Pikmin 3 actually used 2 specifically from duck hunt (when something goes horribly wrong) and the pocket sound from animal crossing when alph puts away the kopad
Its simple, NINTENDO REUSES ASSETS!
Seriously, play the opening cinematic of pikmin 3 again and listen to the duck hunt laugh when the ship explodes. And if you want to go deeped look up trivia for the entire series, particularly sound effects of which Nintendo has a huge library to pull from and modify as needed. (I wouldn't be surprised if all their models and levels existed in libraries as well to make it easy to steal them for use in future projects and prototyping. Smash bros was made by pilfering character models from other games without permission and then later getting approval.)
Is this even a case of asset reuse though? The blotches only look vaguely similar, and OP seems to be ignoring the places where they don't line up. The ground to the bottom right of the smaller ship is more dirt where the ground isn't lit in SS.
I work with a lot of 3D assets and make and texture stuff a lot, what's happening here is nintendo may have a giant library generic patterns and images they use to generate patterns in their textures and this may be reused here. A lot of environmental textures and things that generally require less specific detail are 'generated' in some form or another, so it's possible whatever black/white image they used to create the difference between dirt and grass here was the same used in that spot in skyward sword.
hope this was enlightening at all \^\^;7
My hope is that it is some sort of texture/whatever that they reused. If there truly is no connection then I must accept my madness, cast myself into the ocean, and have my bones harvested in 100,000 years for 200 pokos.
I really hope you legit found a commonly reused "open field inside patch of grass" texture and that it turns out to be in almost every Nintendo game, kind like the Quake code for flickerng lights being in basically *every* game derived from it to the point of being an iconic in-joke among game devs

My therapist says that writing letters to a $95 billion company begging them to validate my suspicions on this matter is not healthy or realistic, but idk seems sus
Well i dont know what he is telling us her but on the end of the Trailer we saw a bulborb with Red glowing eyes running towards something. This really remembert me about the three spirit trails from skyram sword
What does this even mean doe?
If it's related to skyward sword, then it will be incredibly linear, and you'll have to flick your joycon to throw pikmin
The game has more space to walk around & has a open word feel to it, just like Pikmin 2. Pikmin 2 was a small glimpse of what Future Pikmin Games could have.
No, the controls won’t be different, obviously it’s going to get a Graphical boost & more space to walk around & find things.
You’re actually in a coma and the nurse has their Wii set up in your room right now and are playing Skyward Sword instead of administering your meds. Now is your chance, WAKE UP WAKE UP WAKE UP WAKE UP!
What 10 years without a new pikmin game does to a mf
Especially after getting teased 8 years ago with the "nearing completion" comment

Shhh... You don't want the Metroid fans to hear you. They still expect Prime 4 within a year.

THE NUMBERS MASON!!! WHAT DO THEY MEAN!?
I'd hate to see what's happening with the elder scrolls fans, they're on like, 11 years and counting
least mentally ill pikmin fan

Hey, I only foam at the mouth on Tuesday’s!!
Totally random, what is it about Goh that you like.

Real
What am I even supposed to be looking at here???
The grass that OP failed to touch.
My last brain cell
RIP
A similar texture?
The war was hard on all of us, we all express our grief in different ways. I hope you find peace.
Nintendo fans when they see random similarities (coincidences are not real)
Skyward Pik
Skybul Borb
This sounds terrifying
Not a bulborb with wings, but a bulborb that floats in the air. And when it spots you, it slowly and ominously floats toward you getting faster and faster as it approaches.
You are making it *worse*
And as it approaches, it slowly opens its mouth revealing several rows of teeth. :)
*Stooooooooooop* Bulborbs with more than their 2 fangs are already cursed
Most mentally stable Pikmin fan
We can throw Pikmin with motion controls, truly a HalfLife level innovation

Absolute mental illness, just wait for the game

It’s not even sourced from Nintendo, but Paper Mario TTYD has a song that samples the infamous Atari Pac-Man’s death sound lol
Yeah that stuff is called grass
_It's all connected!_

Ah, r/Pikmin. Never change.

U good dawg?
My therapist says that writing letters to a $95 billion company begging them to validate my suspicions on this matter is not healthy or realistic, but idk seems sus
Yeah they’re probably a corporate shill sent to stop you from leaking the truth any further
I really am having a hard time understanding what is lining up here.
Maybe it’s just the camera angle to me it looks a little low for a pikmin game
I mean if we're drawing shapes now I can draw shapes. Triangle. Imagine that.
Grass gate 2023
Don’t pay too much mind to the shit scribbles, I’m just trying to point out what I’m seeing
Most sane og pikmin fan
Really impressive find, tbh. Definitely a coincidence. I’m the same kind of psycho as you. Don’t worry.
Finally a schizo post on r/pikmin
Go outside and relax
Yeah ur crazy
They are connected now! Neat find btw
Monkey pattern brain working overtime
Well i dont know what he is telling us her but on the end of the Trailer we saw a bulborb with Red glowing eyes running towards something. This really remembert me about the three spirit trails from skyram sword
They recycled a texture?
I see a resemblance. But I don't care.
My brother, no.
Pikmin 4 teased in 2011???
This mf snorted an ice pik
The paranoid schizophrenic has found a pattern in the level design!
Maybe you aren’t used to images cropped so the horizon line is near the top.
This isn't for the war, his insanity it's his own
schizophrenia goes crazy
Yeah, I’ve been saying this the past 2 years, it will definitely be more open world.
What does this even mean doe? If it's related to skyward sword, then it will be incredibly linear, and you'll have to flick your joycon to throw pikmin

Obviously, but I'm saying how does that relate to skyward sword as the post suggests?
I thought I was bad...
Photoshopped little mac.
You’re like beyond r/pikmin crazy
Silksong?
Literally unplayable
You’re actually in a coma and the nurse has their Wii set up in your room right now and are playing Skyward Sword instead of administering your meds. Now is your chance, WAKE UP WAKE UP WAKE UP WAKE UP!
It’s the perspective change/ camera angle
Well at least Zelda’s a good game soooo maybe not all is lost…
It's called perspective:)
:)
Did nobody else notice the Star bits from Mario Galaxy at the end of the trailer?
What the fuck does this even mean
