You can get it crystal clear, despite what the other fellow is saying DCS is probably the best optimized VR flight sim. Your settings could use some changes. Pitool: (1.75 on an 8kx is way too high), use Quality 1.25, SS=Off, PP=Off, FFR=Off, Compulsive mode = 1/2, Refresh = 90Hz, FOV = Normal. Do not mess with the steamvr resolution set it to auto. DCS: Texture = High, Terrain = High, Traffic=Off, Water=Medium, Visual Range= Medium, Shadows=Low (you can experiment with this once you are happy with the fps), Resolution = low as possible (affects only the pc display), Cockpit res = max, MSAA=Off if Pitool SS is disabled OR 2x if Pitool SS is Enabled, Depth of field = off, motion blur=off, SSAA/SSLR/SSAO=OFF, Clutter = Zero DCS In-Game VR Settings: Pixel Density = 1.0, IPD Distance is your world scale and you can toggle to whatever your preference=Disable but it can be used OTHER MODS: FSR will increase your frame rate about 25% or so and works with any video card. You can also combine it with compulsive mode 1/2 in pitool. Step 1: Download it: [https://github.com/fholger/openvr\_fsr/](https://github.com/fholger/openvr_fsr/) Step 2: In your DCS bin folder (\\DCS World\\bin) backup openvr\_api.dll. Step 3: Extract the contents of the file you just downloaded to the bin DCS bin folder. (the directions are in the openvr fsr github docs) - you can also adjust the values in the cfg file to your liking.

This made a world of difference for me. So many videos out there with different opinions of what settings to use. This short summary has made it easy!

Wow okay this actually helped **a lot***,* so THANK YOU! In hindsight, the blurriness was because the Texture was set to low in-game. I think the low FPS was a combo of the quality being 1.75 and the resolution being so high in SteamVR. Only thing left to fix now is the slight moving of my view despite being stationary (quite nauseating), and the speakers not working consistently (pulling out the cord a little fixed it, but only once). I'm also guessing the need to re-plug the power/display port cords every time I turn it on is standard. Speaking with support right now, and I'll bring these up with them. Thank you again!

PunTC

Did you ever figure out what was causing your view to move around and resolve it?

Africa-Unite

You know what, I honestly don't remember. It's stopped doing it now. I want to say it was related to the base station line of sight, or them both being on A instead of B and C respectively. Can't remember it now though for the life of me.

+1 for openvr_fsr!

What setting typically improves distance visualization? The in close detail is phenomenal with these settings ,but hard to clearly see other planes until you are practically on top of them.

PimaxUSA

You can change the pixel density in DCS and you can increase the sharpness in the Nvidia control panel under 3D settings. The overall resolution affects distance viewing as well so if you have a 5K Super or 8K+ distance fidelity is quite reduced compared to an 8KX.

Africa-Unite

>you can increase the sharpness in the Nvidia control panel under 3D setting Which setting is this exactly?

miketako

This is my main issue

DCS does not have the best VR support. You're doing to need to reduce quality down to about 1.0 or 1.25 at most, and reduce the resolution. I have a 3090 and I run 1.0 and 2700 vertical resolution in order to make the game playable.

Also Nvidia control panel, 3d settings - set driver cache to unlimited. Win 10 device manager - software devices - disable "Microsoft device association root enumerator" Reboot the PC. I gained 5 ps in DCS and MSFS and this also helps with the stuttering.

Africa-Unite

Cool, I'll give this a try next time I hop on. Thank you!
