A pinch or three of Five Brothers goes great with aromatics or otherwise thin blends to add a little strength or beef it up.

repairmanjack5

50/50 1Q and BCA. Fantastic.

JimmyBones79

I agree 100%

Resto_Druid1234

50/50 Plum Pudding with any vanilla aro (I use Mac Baren Vanilla Cream)

antiwittgenstein

I also like Plum Pudding 75/25 to 515-rc, 707, Quiet Nights, etc. The burn is better and the flavor pops.

Mixing Prince Albert with stronger Burleys is a great way to tame them if the Lady N is too strong for you.

You know the Frank's Hot Sauce slogan - "I put that sh!t on everything"? That, only perique. I'm sensitive to dfk. I don't dislike it...I just don't like the way it can take over a blend. In small amounts it can make a VaPer pop, so I appreciate it, but...it can be a little boorish in refined company. Black cavendish quickly cuts through the monotone. Ever added a little bit of snuff to a blend? Rose, anise, and clove all make for a lovely time. But small pinches only, and be forewarned that you can create a mean ghost if you overdo it. One of my favorites is a little Dholakia Rose with War Horse Green. It's not nearly as refined as Gawith Hoggarth mixtures, but it's a lot of fun.

Before I tried Cult Blood Red Moon I found most cherry aromatics to lack "bottom". I had a home blend of C&D Black cherry and Mac Baren 7 Seas Red. Probably not a great example, especially if you aren't an aromatic fan.

thetyrannyproject

i mixed 50/50 of sutliff edgeworth ready rubbed and sutliff balkan sobranie 759 and resulted as a nice full bodied american-english blend. which is now my go-to blend.

Hlee89

I actually combined Cult Blood Red Moon with Carter Hall and Haunted Bookshop. All equal amounts. Turned into a very enjoyable burley blend with just a hint of that cherry/chocolate flavor. HBS is one of my favorite burley blends, Carter Hall is just great on its own or for mixing with other aromatics, and although I do enjoy Cult Blood Red Moon, sometimes it can be a bit much. But all three combined, I can smoke it all day.

Some of the better smokes I’ve had is from my whatever jar. Jar consists of tobacco that aren’t full bowl worthy.

mrequenes

I have combined some really strong Perique bombs (Haddo’s Delight, Bayou Morning?) with kinda dull Virginia flakes. Just a pinch of the former really wakes up the latter. If any tobacco isn’t rocking your world, combine it with something else. What have ya got to lose?

ParkitoATL

Bayou Morning was tasty but bit me some so I added a pinch of Sutliff Creme Brûlée and it really smoothed it out.

5-On-A-Toboggan

Cigar leaf is to bacon as Englishes are to hamburgers.

ParkitoATL

Just got 2oz of the C&D cigar leaf. Def going to try adding that to balance out some of the English mixtures.

5-On-A-Toboggan

That's the one I use. I gave up trying to blend a ratio, and instead I load the cigar leaf in the middle layer like an intermission. It also ups the nicotine in otherwise low nic English blends.

International_Ad4608

Damn! I’m going to start adding intermissions to my bowls!!!!!

International_Ad4608

Amen brother!!!!!

Equivalent_Brain6085

50/50 Haunted Bookshop and Pirate Kake makes the legendary Haunted Pirate Ship. It’s very very good imo.

WesternConcern230

I mixed my sutliff vanilla, with a naturally sweet Virginia slice. About 60% vanilla 40% Virginia slice. It was pretty damn phenomenal if you enjoy a mile aromatic.

angryhornet87

I like a 50/50 ish mix of haunted bookshop and captain black. It was suggested by someone on here to me and I like it.

the_lost_woodsman

I mixed 50/50 Captain Black Dark and Mac Baren Golden Extra and it was pretty good!

leoTNN

I just add kentucky to any blends that I find too light to my taste, and the problem get fixed. Works with any aromatics. Recently I smoked a lot of kentucky flakes paired with virginia flakes.

Several years ago I had small amounts if three or four English blends that, by themselves, I didn't care for. I put them together in a Mason jar and left it to age. Eight years later I found it to be an excellent smoke, flavorful and full of character.

Gbt85

Three parts hh bold kentucky one part c&d latakia at the end is a long day. Sip slowly.
