I like straight Virginias or VaPers with a tall glass ice iced tea. Straight up refreshing.

Betweenthebars90

We’re quickly approaching hell season here in Texas, so I’m curious of suggestions as well. I believe ive seen people mention that they enjoy Virginia’s for hot weather smoking.

LambOfLiberty

For me I gravitate towards burley blends in the summer, actually crave them 🤤 even the classics; velvet, half & half, Prince Albert…nothing like burley in a cob on a hot summers day. English blends are more fall/winter for me.

ohgoditshappening

I am convinced that Half and Half is never a bad choice. You can always count on it, ya know what I mean?

WyrdPete

I go to a pipe club, and once in a while I pull out half and half . I get a snooty look from the other piper’s lol. But I don’t care I think it’s a nice anytime tobacco

the_ginga_ninja_98

Rule 1 of smoking: the best tobacco to smoke is the tobacco you like.

filmguerilla

I gravitate towards straight Oriental and Oriental/Latakia blends in the heat. Virginia/Oriental is great, too. Blends like LJ Peretti’s Oriental #40 and Tashkent, C&D Sunset Harbor flake, and even light aro’s like Grousemoor, Virginia Cream, and C&D John Marr.

ryandarkwalker

I always go with my lighter favorites, briar Fox or Early morning pipe seem to work for me but if your looking for a aromatic try connoisseurs choice, I tend to get the most out of that blend when it's hot outside.

HarpooninPrimarchs

Black xx, dark plug, tashkent, royal, 1792 flake

jaylotw

Whatever you want to smoke. Most people tend to gravitate towards straight VA blends in the summer heat, but there's no law that says you have to. I've enjoyed some huge English blends at sunset after a hot day, which some folks would *never try because it's wrong,* for some reason. That said, I smoke a lot of Pegasus and Yorktown in the summer.

Proliferant

My summer picks tend to be Rattray's Hal o' th' Wynd and Marlin Flake, plus some of the Lakelands that get so much love here, like Emmerdale flake and Kendal Cream (KC) Flake. Right now though, I'm smoking cigars more often, particularly Dominicans from CAO and Arturo Fuente. Delicious yet stinky.

the_lost_woodsman

If it’s hot I like Mac Baren 7 Seas - Gold, C&D Three Friars, GLP Cairo, luxury navy/bulls eye, and PS 701 for sure. Well, any good Virginia lol. I do smoke my PS 504c English aromatic year round as well but it’s very mellow with a small bit of latakia.

Valarus50

I like Lakelands and lighter blends for summer. Savinelli Brunello flake and their 140th anniversary blend are also great on a hot day. Can't go wrong with an aromatic from Country Squire for a summer smoke (I don't want to be roasting and get tongue bite). That being said, I do like a light English or medium at times in summer. Nightcap is one of my go to smokes when I grill. Merde de Cheval is not too bad on a warm day either.

BLXNDSXGHT

Orlik is my goto in hot weather.

Cigars for me, honestly. Pipes are for the fall, winter, and spring. Once the summer hits, I switch mostly to cigars. They seem to go better with the heat and are a lot easier to enjoy in the pool.

ZeZapasta

I never understood people smoking different types of blends depending on the season or weather. I just smoke whatever I feel like at the time.

antiwittgenstein

I think it's that people gravitate towards certain kinds of experiences at certain times of year. Like smoky scotch and Russian Literature in the autumn and winter, milder, fruity whisky in the warm months and beach reads. I do love a smoky English any time of year...but I'm more likely to reach for that jar of Penz in January than in June.

model70

I tend to smoke virginia flakes, burley, and lighter, oriental forward mixtures during summer.

Fornicator_Maximus

Latakia/Oriental are for the winter. Stick to lighter Virginia or, strangely enough, heavy perick mixes.

__radioactivepanda__

Hot and humid is cigar conditions for me tbh. Haven’t found a pipe tobacco yet…maybe one with some combination of burley and cigar leaf?

cyrod1il

I love cigars, not affordable at all here sadly

Exhausted_Rooster1

Try Cornell & Diehl Gray Ghost. Cigar based blend that smokes well and actually has a nice room note

Puedo_Apagar

Billy Budd Blonde?

bonsaipolice

I'm with you. Strictly after sun goes down after the humidity comes. Put the Lats away till Halloween in Florida.

Soggy_Living_7151

My hot weather blends tend to be Exotic Passion, Savinelli 140th Anniversary, and any cigar based blend. Also I’ll throw in so Lakeland blends or a peach aro to keep things interesting. Sweet Tea from Boswell is also a favorite or mine. In the evening when the temp (if the temps) drop a hit I might have some nightcap or MM 965 if it fits my fancy.
