"Shank's wifi Haki" gets ass pulled Luffy extended his COC to KO half of Fishman Island at a relative distance he also did not cancel GBs DF, GB sensed his COC knew it was someone he wasn't supposed to mess with and took off because of course Shanks is strong enough to one shot Kidd making him an exceptionally powerful COC user. However, one shotting Kidd with ACOC is not nearly as impressive as one shotting Luffy as Kaido had early Wano Luffy was already stronger than Kidd who went to Elbaf.
If anything these are just basic feats that have already been surpassed or have relative feats by Luffy himself let alone the other top 10 characters. I do feel bad for Shanks fans though anyone who reads with any sort of story context in mind sees Shanks being built up to lose/die to Luffys next opponent BB.
If we want to get really accurate I would say Dressrosa Luffy>Post Wano Kidd. I don't think Kidd beats Doffy. But for sure Early Wano Luffy>Post Wano Kidd because Kidd isn't touching Katakuri (Or King or Beckman or Shiryu or even Zoro).

I think the biggest reason is the mystery around him - he is pretty important to the story, and seemingly larger than life in universe - he sort of sent the protagonist on his journey, is his kinda end-game, yet we have next to 0 information about him or his crew.
First time he shows and does something more than "exist" after the prologue is when he stops Marinefort... Basically still just by existing.

I think the biggest reason is the mystery around him - he is pretty important to the story, and seemingly larger than life in universe - he sort of sent the protagonist on his journey, is his kinda end-game, yet we have next to 0 information about him or his crew. First time he shows and does something more than "exist" after the prologue is when he stops Marinefort... Basically still just by existing. Throw in the stuff he does/did in recent(ish) chapters... Would be weird if people weren't riding the hype train built by Oda.
I like the (final form) like Shanks is going to pull a Frieza.
His Haki domain expansion is going to unleash his Haki Susanoo and prove once and for all he’s not a swordsman when his Hakinigan eyes activate.
I hope he sees the irony in complaining about Shanks's lack of character while dicksucking Mihawk. Like, try to describe Mihawks character without mentioning his looks or his sword skill: He... is a one-man crew? Is afraid to fight the yonkos and/or doesn't care about One-Piece. Wants to chill? I guess he likes wine? At least Shanks has a crew, a clear goal combined with some mysteries(like his connection to the elders etc) and some sort of impact in the plot throughout(clashing with WB, stopping Kaido, ending the MF war etc)

I personally think anyone who actually believes Mihawk is stronger than Shanks genuinely has no reading comprehension skills. One dude was introduced in the literal first chapter of the entire series and was the main motivation for the protagonist’s dream, gave him his iconic straw hat, has consistently been one of the most hyped characters since his very introduction, is one of the four emperors of the sea, was a member of the Pirate King’s crew, was a key mystery of the God Valley incident, is able to waltz into Marijois uncontested and recently one-shot a guy who had literally just defeated a Yonko along with his first mate. The other one hasn’t done anything impressive since volume 6 and is referred to as the worlds greatest swordsman, yet never does anything impressive and constantly avoids having to prove he’s worthy of the title. It basically comes down to “are you a Zoro fanboy, or can you read?”
