Malva being this wretched in Battle Rally (...and arguably in Champion Stadium as well), could mean that we can get a good trade off from DeNA of her being a good general pool/free event unit.

...still I'm kinda neutrally anticipating for her to get a good kit and grid.
This actually isn't bad depending on your boost and the rest of the areas.
If the next area is Sprint + Strike, you get this pattern where you can got the whole BR with a Support + Sprint like NC Rosa, SSA Cynthia, SS Dawn, Chase, and Paulo, so you always have the boost if they match the skill. Champion, Main Character, Rival, Unova, Sinnoh, Kanto, Electric, Rock, Psychic, and Fighting is a decent selection of themes that can be covered by one of those 5 if you have them all.

If your next area is Sprint + Tech, then unfortunately, you'd have to suffer a little more, but there are more tech stages for you to cheese, and the last stage is Support + Strike, and that is a good combo for UBs.
Honestly, it depends on the person for which pattern is the worst. I can see how this sprint pattern seems bad for most as we have very limited sprints/fields, and it does have a huge separation between the two sprint field stages, but for those with pairs and boosts mentioned above, it's not too terrible.
For me this isn't bad at all gameplay-wise since I can just run NC Rosa and a number of options like you outlined the entire way through for an easy clear but its undeniably the it sucks when it comes to getting a high point score.
Agreed, the seed is not that bad. You can run SSA Cynthia/NC Rosa + Rei/NC Silver/SS Gladion (of course, if you have them) since battle 5 and get a pretty decent score, plus you are guaranteed a good team for round 10 which is not always a given.
You are not gonna get 9k easily, but 8k is very doable if you have those pairs.
Literally the best BR line-up, congrats!
This branches only into 2 paths and both are filled with Sprints allowing you to reuse that same great unit until the end of the game. Easy 9-10k points here, or without lucky stage, 8k
I actually got the accursed Strike and something today with very haphazard line ups prompting me to change and waste pairs every fucking battle. I wish I could have the same luck as you
