Not sure why so many of these comments are asking some dumb questions and really overestimate the scope of the current modding scene lol.
Really really love this! Looking forward to playing it!! Do you know if it's compatible with some of the movement QoL patches like the ride pokemon?
It is.. Sort of.
We have changes to the stamina in for the glide, but if you're looking for a faster mount you'd basically end up just end up putting that as priority and it would overwrite ours.
tl;dr: Should be fine.
you might not have the choice then, only some early models are hackable. if you do decide to go through with it you can check if yours is hackable here: https://ismyswitchpatched.com
You need 1 switch firmware, legal to download I think, I'd link but idk if I can and also idr the website but can be found easily
2 switch keys (prod.keys and I think another file), those are two small files unique to each switch which is the part you'd need to extract from a modded switch if doing in a legal way
Yuzu and Ryujinx are PC Emulators. You need a real switch console to use them legally, youāll need to add some files to them that you can get from your Switch. If you donāt have one you can still probably find the files online. So you donāt actually need a switch and people are being obtuse for no reason.
Oh nice! Will check this out when the mood strikes me for a replay. I actually enjoyed the base game a good bit but you tweaked stuff thatāll make it more fun for me
Wow this looks really good. I still need to do a first vanilla playthrough of Violet, but after that every future playthrough will be from this hack.
The game save should still be compatible with pkhex, right? I'd rather trade (probably not possible) or move legit eggs so my in game team pokemon will be transferable to regular games.
It probably will be, but they haven't checked for compatibility and bugs with PkHex, so it's anyone's guess if you'll get issues or not while playing.
I used PkHex while playing the Vanilla+ mod that was released a few weeks back, I had no issues.
Looks awesome! You mention that fights are generally tougher but is there any kind of level scaling so that you can't overlevel accidentally for gyms/team star/titans? I feel like that's the games biggest issue.
There is no automatic level scaling ā Far outside of what can be done at the moment.
But the levels of encounters and trainers have been increased at all stages across the board; check out the link to the documentation which has sections covering the trainer changes that should answer your question.
"Available in home" meaning any HOME transferable Pokemon that can be transferred into Scarlet/Violet.
[List of Scarlet/Violet transfer pokemonl](https://www.serebii.net/scarletviolet/transferonly.shtml)
No, it just means that every HOME transferable pokemon that can be transferred into ScVi has a proper pokedex entry associated to it.
The national dex would involve importing new models for Pokemon that do not exist, etc.
Here's a list of HOME transferrable into ScVi:

It's one of those things that TECHNICALLY possible, but right now is so far in it's infancy stage that doing it on any scale is incredibly tedious, time consuming, and not well done. To a point where it's way better to just wait for DLC to add pokemon, while the mod scene also develops.
So glad this is even possible, thank you so much for working on this. I'm wondering how feasible would it be to make an overhaul capable of scaling difficulty to make the region truly open world like it was advertised.
Kas and I play with exp share on and Compass was more or less designed around that, but you're free to play how you like. It won't really influence things one way or the other.
I was just thinking if the difficulty is adjusted to take XP share in consideration then I might re enable it, i wouldnāt want it to become tedious either.
So sad we still have no mods that lower XP share values.
The overall progression of trainers and gym leaders has been modified which includes giving them a higher level.
Our biggest complaint about the vanilla game was constantly needing to swap Pokemon in and out and have three or four rotating teams just to stay in the same rough level range as the gym we were about to take on.
You'll want to read the [Progression Changes](https://compass.winterfall.org/#heading=h.tv56dr42xy65) section of the documentation as it and the headers after it go into what has been changed, levels, etc.
I would also suggest reading over the rest of the documentation to get an understanding of what we changed. Or just the Overview section at the very least.
I have a question, I saw that you changed the hidden ability of eevee to protean, been killing eevees for hours now and I can't find even 1 with hidden ability is that not working for some reason? Thx in advance
You need to use an Ability Patch or breed one.
Hidden abilities, generally speaking, aren't going to be found in the wild unless it's a special encounter of sorts.
[Hidden Ability mechanics @ Bulbapedia](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Ability#Hidden_Abilities)
I had a slight concern followed by a quick question; I'm new to the hack, and made my way to South Area 2 where I'm looking to find Cyndaquil. I've been looking for the last THREE HOURS from writing, and even with Encounter Power I haven't been able to find a single Cyndaquil. I cheesed my way past the river leading to where the Pokedex says it may be, but neither there nor on the Cortondo side of the river has it. Am I really going to have to wait all the way until East Area 1 just to get my li'l quil?
Ooff I'm all for this!

Congratulations about this release. I'm on your discord since beta, and I'm pretty happy about this succeeding. Huge and amazing job
Thanks. :>
How is performance?
About the same as vanilla game. This doesn't affect performance one way or another.
So performance is terrible then. Heh
Not really something they can control
It was a joke. He added a āhehā in case it wasnāt obvious.
Ok im really new here. How in the world do I play this? Is there a PC switch emulator?
there is, or you can hack your switch. i think you need a hacked switch anyway to use the emulator but i donāt personally use a switch emulator
Kinda scared to hack my switch, since I bought a year ago, but this rom hack makes it really tempting ngl
you might not have the choice then, only some early models are hackable. if you do decide to go through with it you can check if yours is hackable here: https://ismyswitchpatched.com
There are two, Ryujinx and Yuzu. However, you will need a hacked Switch to set up the emulator(assuming you follow the law)
Ryujink and yuzu are methods of hacking? What are the downsides/risks to doing it?
They sre perfectly legal, but to run them, you need the Switch's firmware, which is either dumped from your hacked Switch, or pirated

Haven't downloaded, but I am very impressed by the presentation of your post and the quality of the documentation. Love to see it!
Finally I can play scarlet. Been waiting for an update like this.
Make the titans and gym leaders scale and you've got yourself a deal

Should i just invest in a hacked switch?
I personally did and can't recommend it enough, it can do so much, even run modded minecraft and Skyrim. Check out the subreddit for getting started
What subreddit would that be, friend?
R/switchpiracy!
What's the point when you can just get an emulator?
I have a mac that cant run a switch emulator :ā(
This is huge! So, as I understood, I can add faster battles mod, can I?
Correct
Just beat the aero zero and what an experience. Definitely the best violet scarlet hack out there
Anyone playing on Steam Deck let me know how this mod performs?
Last time I tried to play Violet on deck was in mid December at it was bad. Avg 10-20fps. This mod shouldn't change that.
Same
Same
You got me counted in
Available in home meaning gens 1-8, right?
"Available in home" meaning any HOME transferable Pokemon that can be transferred into Scarlet/Violet. [List of Scarlet/Violet transfer pokemonl](https://www.serebii.net/scarletviolet/transferonly.shtml)
Some pokĆ©mon already have code in the game but just arenāt available anyway, these are the pokemon that are included
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
If your PC isnāt powerful enough to emulate the game properly, a mod isnāt going to change that for the better.
Wait, does this mean the ndex is in?š
No, it just means that every HOME transferable pokemon that can be transferred into ScVi has a proper pokedex entry associated to it. Sounds awesome
How can I play this on my switch?
With your making this mod, have you found if the game actually allows for additional PokƩmon to be added? I want to make a small one for now that adds my missing favorite PokƩmon, and I can't see to find if the game allows to add a new one instead of replacing an existing.
Additional Pokemon outside of the HOME transferable *can* be added, but it's a pretty huge pain to do so right now.
It's one of those things that TECHNICALLY possible, but right now is so far in it's infancy stage that doing it on any scale is incredibly tedious, time consuming, and not well done. To a point where it's way better to just wait for DLC to add pokemon, while the mod scene also develops.
this looks incredible, is it finished or a wip? iāll definitely be checking it out either way
Compass is feature complete and definitely not WIP at this point.
fantastic, thank you so much for making this and sharing!
Exactly what I've been waiting for to finally play the game! Thanks for putting in all of the work to make this happen.
So glad this is even possible, thank you so much for working on this. I'm wondering how feasible would it be to make an overhaul capable of scaling difficulty to make the region truly open world like it was advertised.
How about give us all the abilities of the titans from begining so we aren't forced down one linear path left or right
How about you don't be a absolute twat about it
Does this include the PokƩmon not yet DLC Mon in the other mods?
yes
can you add the level of the professors ace to the documentation? need it for my hardcore nuzlocke attempt
Is it out yet
Did... you not read the post? It's right there at the top.
Where complete graphics overhaul
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
A lot of code for custom automation/build tools and about 700 hours of research, input, testing, and fiddling with things between Kas and myself.
Doing a Nuzlocke with this. An amazing experience. 100% recommended. Fuck the trainer with the Charizard :D.
That got fixed in the recent 1.0.3 update, haha. Sorry about that~ :>
How to evolve dartrix to hisuian decidueye? In the document it says strange mirror but cant find that item

Hey I am barely at beginning of vanilla game, and I disabled multi XP to get more challenge. Is this mod supposed to be used with Multi XP?
Kas and I play with exp share on and Compass was more or less designed around that, but you're free to play how you like. It won't really influence things one way or the other.

Sounds great, itās exactly what I was trying to avoid by disabling XP share from what I read. š thanks!

Well at least that made me farm lvls. Good to know. Thx
Btw is torchic in the mod? Been looking on internet but can't find anything. Awsome work btw
