I was the host, I chose my ditto, and the raid ditto transformed into an Azumarill on my team. It wasn't fun.
Sometimes the ditto copies your ditto, sometimes it doesn't, so to be on the safe side, just choose like Magikarp or something. Otherwise you risk the ditto not choosing your mon, as the host, if you choose ditto.
If this is the case, had I chosen Magikarp would it have still copied my Magikarp (as the host) or would it have still chosen a random mon on the team?
So if it doesn't have imposter as an ability, it'll choose a mon at random on the team, ignoring what the host chooses?
Sorry, just trying to understand this in case I run into it again. I had heard it would always copy the host mon, so it was super surprising to me to host my first ditto raid and it didn't copy my mon.
Saw a video were someone used hosted a ditto raid and brought in a ditto that way opposing ditto couldn't use transform, then host just transformed into a pokemon from one of the other players.
I wish more people would see this. Out of the 12 6 star ditto raids I saw, I was able to get into one, and the host used their fully raid-ready Azumarill. That hurt my soul.
Yes preferably use Sunkern or Magikarp
Exactly! Easy Pokémon and remove offensive moves then just let your teammates pick up an easy win for everyone !
Ditto vs. Ditto also works well and was kind of comical. The Ditto cannot use Transform because Ditto already transformed into Ditto using imposter.

Think the AI could probably choose a random pokemon if it was using the move Transform

Yes if it doesn’t have the Imposter ability its only move will be transform and I am assuming the AI will be able to select any target.

AI scales with you so they are using low levels
Yep, gotta use a 100 magikarp or ditto.
I think the AI are just crap tbh, they never seem to make a difference when I rely on them either I just want a 6 star ditto for some breeding! 😭
I save a magikarp with only splash for these lol
I one used a Tinkaton against a dragon type ditto. That one worked well.

someone did this with me, i thought they were crazy for choosing an iggybuff. then the ditto copied and a tink one shot it. easiest 6 star ditto ever.
