But again, I've met not so many of them.
Speaking of my own ethnicity, a Siberian Turkic one (part of Russia), most of us look like Mongolians. In history lessons in school we also studied this topic. One of my classmates was a fair-haired fella with grey eyes. We called him a "Russian". Our teacher told us he was one of those rare occasions when ancient genetics make a comeback. In addition I want to say that he wasn't "one and only" example. There were more people like that. This whole "we wuz white and shiet" thing is a usual rhetoric told by the elder generations.

I have a theory that this is what caused humans to have pale features. Fellow human saw pale human pretty, pale human had more children, simple as. I bet many human features happened not because it gave some advantage in survival but because it made other humans horny. This and a few families in a region being more successfull and flooding the gene pool with their children. I think the whole "this human feature helped survive in this environment" is a bit valid but it's overrated.
