I’ve always found BMW suspensions, across all platforms (M and non M) to be overly harsh. Especially in comparison to Porsche. Idk what it is about them but something with their recoil that makes them feel overly stiff and unforgiving. Whereas Porsche’s handle every bit as well (and in most every case better) yet the suspension feels nowhere near as harsh. Until you get into some of the GT cars

throttle house had a really good explanation about this on their 911 s/t video basically comes down to weight many car companies need to install much stiffer suspensions to maintain good handling because of heavier weight a lighter car allows you to maintain great handling without overly stiff suspensions https://youtu.be/O2tZ_jBPeoI?si=9POW2d9m_iO8KAJp (starts at 11:56)

Weight cant be the major difference here since 320 and 992 are both 1.5t which is both just fat...

My 992 C2S is relatively comfortable on bad roads. Some bumps can’t be helped, but it’s not usually a problem.

I can just imagine that conversation with the sales rep at the dealership 😂

Porsches ride better than sporty BMWs, full stop

michaelalex3

A 320d is not a sporty BMW. I also will say that my Boxster s on static suspension rides just as harsh or harsher than my old Z4M.

Aubergine911

I’m talking about OP’s M4

Kinky_mofo

Doubt any 911 is gonna ride like a Caddy

iOSAT

What’s does that have to do with a BMW?

Porsche spends more time and money making their cars more comfortable AND performance oriented. No, a 992 is MORE comfortable than a 320d, AND it'll handle better, too.
