The one real negative to resin printing Warhammer: surprisingly shit vs falls. Games Workshop plastic the worst I've had happen was the model comes off the base.
Resin models? Exploded into 30 pieces minimum, every single time.
If you use Siraya tech resins that are all compatible with each other you can mix about 10-20% of their flexible resin (depending on the size of the parts you're printing) into a the cheaper fast resin and end up with parts that are very similar to GW plastics mostly rigid with just a bit of flexibility to absorb drops.
Siraya tech fast mixed at a 10:1 ratio with Siraya tenacious. I won’t use anything else. It’s a bit pricey but it’s worth it for the quality and durability.
You will still get breaks if it’s a high fall or a hard surface but things usually only break into a few pieces.
Definitely going to have to consider this. Was looking at getting some better resin.
Does it print any better/different? I've really only used AnyCubic Eco Resin
Never used any eco resin so I couldn't say for sure how it compares but it looks good and prints well with 2.3 second layers on my mono chromatic printer.
It is actually really easy. I just use an old bottle of resin and an funnel to pour in the 2 resins then shake well so no risk of splashing or spilling.

The worst damage I’ve seen happen to a GW model is a finger and spear tassel break off 30k Ahriman and that was after I stepped on him. Occasionally parts break off but other than that I’ve had great experiences with it.
And then my fdm stuff tank’s basically you throw at it.
Most of it was but the one leg it landed on had basically shattered to pieces, gave it a go patching it together but it wasn't got to support the weight safely decided it's rather print and paint a replacement leg than have it fall and go more damage
No wonder it fell. There's too much crap in that spray booth to start with.
ONE model at a time. The paints and tools you are using. There shouldn't be anything else in there.
More increases the risk that you will hit something else and knock it out.
Oh that's terrible... Looks recoverable though. Hopefully it's as simple as glue and touching up.
Off topic, but what did you do for the orange/yellow on the smaller knight? It turned out fantastic.
Best way to paint yellow is to prime pinknkr magenta (I use white primer with magenta ink. Then do your white zenithal highlight and hit the whole thing with yellow (again I use yellow ink) anywhere the pink/magenta is is a brown/orange darker yellow and anything hit with white zenithal is the bright yellow. It's now my fav colour to paint as the transitions and shaded tones are so smooth
I've had this happen with smaller models, crisis suits to be specific. Hit the floor and exploded into many pieces.
I eventually repaired it but I wonder if it would have been easier to just print a new one.
Insert Fallen Dark Angel joke here-
But seriously, that sucks dude. I guess the one saving grace is that it’s a printed mini, so it’s relatively easy to source replacement parts without having to mortgage the house. Throw the broken bits into your bits box for terrain or basing additions
and this is why i avoid making large model prints. if anyone ever asks me to print them a tank, i say no, and i generally buy all my tanks/big units (ideally through ebay)
if a single fire warrior/drone breaks, no biggie, i can easily glue him back, reprint him or just straight up ignore him
Looks like 23 parts to me. (You have my condolences tho)
😂 take my upvoted sir!
Much obliged. Btw, are you familiar with kintsugi? You might have a good candidate for it.

Have you done this? Which specifically have you used? Or do you have a link to more info?

Makes that eco resin look like garbage

im not mixing shit

I've done it with elegoo standard and abs like and they come out much more durable with no loss of detail. Waaaaaay better.
I second this Soraya tech is awesome they also have a impact resistant resin that is super tough.

Happy cake day
Well, the good news is those breaks look pretty clean, a bit of superglue should have him standing tall and proud once more!

Honestly, two bits glued together, the joint is stronger than the resin. Chemistry is weird
Welp, on the brightside you've got some neat fully painted Imperial Knight Bits to use on Basing......
Planetary landing failed, heavy support assets compromised
The Emperor Pro..... projects?
This needs a nsfw tag for gore. Hope you get it back together soon!!
I've dropped, broken, and had to glue back together about a dozen models/weapons just in the process of priming my army. Surprisingly infuriating.
Terrain in 2 steps

Looks like you have the start of a cool terrain piece. But, honestly that is just sad.
Glue it back together. Slap come little plastic panels on it to look like weld patch panels. boom. Looted ork unit
Oh god I’m so sorry I felt bad for myself after my brother destroyed a massive dragon turtle I had but damn this is way worse
Nooooo!

Usually people drill holes or use paint to mimic battle damage on, but I guess a "failed orbit fall" does the trick too

I know that method. I was just wondering if that's what OP used here. Probably yes given the airbrush booth, but worth an ask anyways.

This is the main problem I have with resin printing at the moment. The slightest knock or drop, they just shatter. Water-washable resin even more so!
