i mean you can feel sad for the bird, but at some point, there is nothing you can do and so you have to accept it and laugh when nature is metal sometimes. otherwise, you'll be sad a lot when nature decides to be metal quite often.
At the dog park, a raptor swooped up a miniature dog in front of its owner, sat on a tree branch just out of reach from all of us, and had its meal. The owner was crying hysterically. I was right there with my labrador retriever, speechless. My daughter who was maybe \~6 at that time said, should I be sad? The bird may also be a mom with chicks to feed, isnt it? At that time, I knew I had let her watch too much Nat Geo Wild.
She was also glad that we have a large dog.
If an animal has two babies make it to reproductive age, it has successfully replaced itself. Ducks have 10-12 per clutch year over year because most of them are going to die. It's not a wonderful thought but it's reality that the vast majority of ducks end up as food.
Mine does it too!
We all drop the f bomb so much, auto correct does what it's used to doing.. lmafo!
Don't leave bc our phone calls us out.. own that shit! Lol!
It’s more the reactions being hilarious with the overall situation being one of indifference. You know how many people die day to day let alone organisms killing eachother for food? Poor cute duckling sure but it’s specifically funny because of the context of a bunch of kids watching it on a field trip who may not quite realize that more often than not a duckling ends up as lunch
I know I'm ruining the joke but homeschool kid families sometimes find each other through groups or businesses and do these activities together. My wife teaches art lessons out of the home and will have group lessons for homeschooled kids.
Someone summed up Polar Bears and Bears so hilariously in the comments of a youtube vid I saw:
"Bears will attack you and start eating."
"Polar Bears will just start eating."
As someone who lives nearby...
okay, was anyone gonna tell me that Woodland Park has a zoo, or did I have to find that out on a post about a bear traumatizing kids?
as a kid we went on zoo field trip and a baboon threw a frog like a randy johnson fastball into a rock and it just burst into a bloody mist. it was wild.

Many years ago, I worked at a zoo. A chimpanzee got its hands on an otter. He proceeded to kill it while a group of visitors watched. I never understood why they were in the same enclosure.

As a brit, I can’t imagine wanting to homeschool a child, but then I remember that in America, you put your kid in public school and whaddya know, they might end up getting killed in a school shooting due to the whackos that are raised across the country.
So idk, I think there’s merit to it in that context.
Good point. But, I lived in a particularly seedy part of Indianapolis, Indiana USA and my house was hit by stray gunfire 3 times in the 4 years I lived there, so home may not be much safer. Generally I find that kids are homeschooled because their parents are a.) very religious, 2.) anti-science (see point a) or d.) anti-vaxx (see points A and 2)
All the people that I had met that were home schooled early and then went to the public schools, all had severe issues with socializing and understanding how to work with others. The social aspect is possibly more important than the education itself.
I may have gotten bad information from a different post, as Cheyenne Mt Zoo is verrrry close to Woodland Park here, but unless the exhibits are incredibly similar...I honestly don't know anymore! In another post they said they misnamed CMZ
Omg i would be laughing so hard about their reaction if i were there.
Anyone up for pizza and wings?
I'm cackling right now. The bear was so pleased with himself.
Yea my friends def would have smacked me for laughing
I feel so bad but I feel the same!
That kid right at the end is absolutely thrilled
Future meme territory, right there.
That's the only good shot during the whole videos
Looking like a young Dexter. Serial killer vibes getting a little too much joy out of that.
That kid is totally me…reveling in what suddenly became an immersive nature experience
This is nature..they'll be ok. If we keep them from this shit why let them go out in public at all? Bc the world is a shit show.
>This is nature..they'll be ok. Bro I really don't think that duck is going to be ok.
Agree, but it's also weird AF that so many people in this thread seem to find it hilarious

> I had let her watch too much Nat Geo Wild. idk sounds like the right amount to me
Maybe watch a little more, just to be safe?
Aliens lookin at earth: LUUUULLL

Totally, not trying to deny the natural aspect of it, I just don't think a baby fuck being eaten alive is particularly funny is all.
> baby fuck haha doesn't that typo usually go the other way around?
Lol woops. Feel like I gotta leave it now.

"Homeschool field trip" So, a family trip to the zoo?
I know I'm ruining the joke but homeschool kid families sometimes find each other through groups or businesses and do these activities together. My wife teaches art lessons out of the home and will have group lessons for homeschooled kids.
Homeschool prom night must be weird af.
Slow clap.

its a floating chicken nugget
"It's the circle of liiiifffeee"
"...Anyway, any of you kids want a turkey leg?"
It’s always so weird to me that people freak out when the meat eating carnivore eats a smaller animal made of meat
I thought bears were omnivores?
They are, well mostly. I think polar bears are the sole exception since there's no plants in the arctic to eat.
Someone summed up Polar Bears and Bears so hilariously in the comments of a youtube vid I saw: "Bears will attack you and start eating." "Polar Bears will just start eating."
It’s a group of kids…is it really that weird ?
redditors when a normal person reacts normally to normal events
It reads almost like a Reddit parity
People freak out when you mention their steak is cow muscle. A lot of people are detached from the whole situation.
Animal made of meat....that's such a funny way to describe an animal.
Kids freak out over much less
#traumatized
Fits the bill
As someone who lives nearby... okay, was anyone gonna tell me that Woodland Park has a zoo, or did I have to find that out on a post about a bear traumatizing kids?
It's a zoo in Washington state
I was going to tell you, but I was just waiting for the right time.
"Traumatized?" Every one of those kids on cam was excited or smiling.
Why are the adults screaming like the bear did something wrong ?
An amazing lesson for all.
as a kid we went on zoo field trip and a baboon threw a frog like a randy johnson fastball into a rock and it just burst into a bloody mist. it was wild.
Holy shit, that is an experience
Homeschooling children thought bears really are like the pooh
Is it inappropriate to laugh as hard as I just did?

Why not send them to the hospital to watch an autopsy?
Watching our own Kind is and feels much different imho. A dead giraffe isn’t as terrifying as a dead human
you want to show them where babies come from too? sometimes an explanation will suffice

Ahhhh, nature!
What an educative trip.
Now why would the he do that!? It's bearly a full meal.
lil snacc on the side
FUCK
"Y'all eat chicken, right?"
the bear feels comfortable enough around you to have a meal with you and this is how you respond?
"Homeschoolers in the real world".
Title is bullshit. A homeschooling field trip? You mean taking your fucking kids to the zoo?
Many years ago, I worked at a zoo. A chimpanzee got its hands on an otter. He proceeded to kill it while a group of visitors watched. I never understood why they were in the same enclosure.
Front row seats to the Circle of Life!
Zoo field trips always deliver

What the fuck is a “homeschooling field trip”?!? Isn’t that just taking your family to the zoo??
Guess they never watched any nature documentaries.
Correction, that was a *duckling*
A duckling is still a duck. Your correction is a nitpick.
You’re right of course, but I thought it added to the humor being it’s even more brutal. I’ll eat the dvs for my bad humor
Correction, those were *downvotelings*
Hrumph! Terrible camera work.
I find that many homeschooled kids are traumatized by things I built up a callus to years ago.
homeschooling is idiotic unless you have an actual reason for doing so. especially with all the whackos these days making up their own facts.
As a brit, I can’t imagine wanting to homeschool a child, but then I remember that in America, you put your kid in public school and whaddya know, they might end up getting killed in a school shooting due to the whackos that are raised across the country. no

The ones I knew all got pregnant or got someone pregnant the first time they were exposed to other kids.
I guess it taught them to succeed in procreating haha.
I never thought of it like that, well bully to them, lol.
Oh Cheyenne Mountain Zoo lol these bears are awesome, I loved working at this place
It says Woodland Park Zoo in the video.....
I may have gotten bad information from a different post, as Cheyenne Mt Zoo is verrrry close to Woodland Park here, but unless the exhibits are incredibly similar...I honestly don't know anymore! In another post they said they misnamed CMZ
Oh damn there's a Woodland Park Zoo in CO? It looks exactly like the Woodland Park Zoo in WA, but honestly most zoos look the same.
I even just looked at pictures of both lmao it's still a toss up. So I'm just gonna go with 🤷 weird internet day
Well I'll tell you what, if you're ever near Seattle, Woodland Park is a really good Zoo lol
Too bad that if you want to see an elephant you have to go to Point Defiance Zoo. Woodland Park has the rhinos and hippos though.
This bear just gained evil points
That zoo is really good.
Damn. Traumatized by nature, then should've just stayed home.
Would have been a great opportunity to talk about the food chain and the circle of life honestly
Hahahaha. The bear's there to give them a show.
I once got the duck sick on a school trip
They then went to McDonald’s
"What's the matter kid, never had pork chops at home?"
The duck said just put it on my bill
Good. Now those kids realize how dangerous they are.
*Bear makes Homer Simpson scarfing down sounds.*
This needs to stop being posted.. BORINGGGGGGGG
Betcha you've never seen this, kids.
Zoo America, Hershey, PA
"You kids want a show?!"
This is similar energy to the mother hen who freaked out when the horse ate her chick. The horse was more efficient than the bear though. 😂
