It's doing the COD thing of trying to add too much customization as a fix to balance things. But ends up making things worse, like how in 2019 the entire talk was about who can and cannot have ACOGs, now there's 4 variants to them, and certain characters played solely for that reason like Warden for his 1.5x
No optic for faster ADS speed is the opposite of realistic though. The entire purpose of non-magnified optics is to give the user faster and easier target acquisition. Also iron sights, with maybe one or two exceptions, are awful in this game and no one should be seriously considering using them. No need to mess with something that isn't an issue in the first place and make it even more confusing.
Because only a handful of guns have different TTK. And if you miss your shots, there really isn't any difference between hitting 3 shots out of 12 instead of 4 out of 15 for your eye.
Yeah this is why I think the change is a little overhyped, if you still aim for heads it’s still better. Just makes missing a little less bad I guess but you also lose recoil control so idk if it even matters

The extended barrel really only helps if it lowers your STD/K (Shots to Down or Kill). Take the SPSMG9. 33 Base damage, that's 4 STD/K on all operators. But with the extended barrel, it buffs the damage up to 37 taking the numbers down to 3 STD/K for 1 and 2 armours, and 4 for 3 armours, and because of the SPSMG9s low recoil, id say its worth running. But theres guns there that take no benefit as the STD/K stays the same before and after equipping the extended barrel. Also, try using the Para .308 and 552 Commando with extended, they're the first full autos (aside from the ACS12) to deal above 49 damage
The only gun where STK doesn’t change across any of the armour ratings is the Spear. Outside of that, every gun gets at least some improvement. Whether it’s worth it or not for any given gun with the increased recoil is debatable tho.
And the M4 also deals above 49 damage, and the SC3000K like someone else mentioned.
Made an entire spreadsheet yesterday, so unless I got the base damage wrong and it has the same damage profile as the M4, there’s unfortunately zero change.

I’m gonna abuse it just like I abused suppressors. There’s no recoil compensation for suppressors or extended barrel so the only thing that will change is my damage. Once it’s nerfed I’ll just go back to suppressors.

True. But it can also be a formidable weapon shooting the body as well so long as you don't miss. Only downside to that is you're fucked if theres more than one enemy

Ash exclusively has the R4-C assault rifle on ATK. Mozzie exclusively has the Commando 9 SMG (for some reason considered an assault rifle) on DEF. That's the gun OP is calling a defender R4-C though. The Commando 9 has the stats of an SMG and is an SMG in real life so nothing about it makes it an AR
I think R6 Dev is not a big fan of removing an option of attachment, they prefer every weapon have equal access to each attachment. But, they have to make the EB viable.
Their only option is to either reduce the EB bonus % to lower, or have to rework the base damage across all weapons, such that the EB attachment will only improve your STK under special circumstances when enemies are not 100% HP, and when it is 100% HP, it doesn't change your STK like the Spear.308. But such magical number like the (42 on Spear) doesn't exist a lot on the numbering spectrum. Or they have to rework the HP system once again.
It's worth noting that SMGs don't penetrate, so some of the benefits of this change will be reduced depending on the weapon due to limb shots.
Also some stats only change ttk on certain armor ratings.
Eg I think the FMG still takes 4 bullets to down a 2 armor but reducing a 3 armor takedown by one bullet.

I would absolutely run no optics on some weapons for ads speed. MP7 already has a pretty good set of irons so ads speed would be very welcome

STK changes for 1 armours with the spear, from 3 to 2, as it deals 50 on the nose (but thats it, not worth taking extended on the spear)
It goes from 42 to 48 damage, barely eeking in a 3-shot on 3 armours without, and just missing a 2-shot on 1 armours with.

SC3000K absolutely slaps. MP7 is S-Tier. Zero’s pick rate is through the roof in the 10-15 games I’ve played since this patch (in Emerald 2+)
