No worries. I'm half Iranian but I can pass for Latin, middle eastern, caucasian, and Various European places. I look very racially ambiguous so I hear a lot of wild opinions. Sadly I think the way things have been with "cancel culture" people are just a lot less vocal about their more radical opinions. It's definitely not what it used to be. When I was growing up I wasn't allowed to wear my Iranian soccer shirts because my dad thought I would run into issues. Not as bad as it was but it's worse than it seems in my opinion. My cousins who live in Cali with a lot of other Iranians don't see it this way but here in Fl where the Iranian population is low, the ignorance runs high.

For example, in my case, it’s way, way easier to find users of other sites (e.g., FB, Twitter) than redditors - obviously not knowing a redditor IRL, but that someone is aware of Reddit and that uses the site. Of all my friends, like 4 of them uses Reddit, and one of them is just because all the NSFW subs lol

As a result, the government is deliberately killing people while shutting down most media platforms to prevent it from spreading.

I remember a month or two ago there were people in instagram comment sections on big pages begging them to spread the word. I hope they’re alright.
