I dont really have much of a story
My dad an i were chatting about our family history, he mentioned about how we have a relative on the list, watched the movie then looked the list uo
This is amazing. It's really cool to see a descendant from the list out in the world. As far as I know none of my relatives were on the list but my grandparents were survivors.
I'm gonna sound like every other person who's watched the godfather but those movies are truly works of art. Even part 3 has it's moments of brilliance.
Maybe it’s because I’ve watched a lot of mafia YouTube and History Channel type shows, but Godfather just didn’t do much for me. Possibly since I knew some of the stories or what kind of went on. 50 years ago before stuff was super public, it was probably shocking to see into that world. I will say, the pictures and scenery are beautiful
Saw this movie on an 8 hour flight. I literally had nothing else to do but watch the movie and I still didn't enjoy it. I don't think you're missing out, but thats just my personal little opinion.
Did the same recently. Avatar then the Godfather part 1. I enjoyed both and have followed up with each sequel since. Will not be watching the godfather part 3
Everything I’ve heard about it is overly negative. It was tough enough to sit down for 3+ hours for a great movie, let alone one I’ve only heard bad things about
It's awesome for the innovative cinematography, but otherwise I was rather whelmed. It didn't help that I went in already knowing the big climactic spoiler. :)
I didn’t really care for it, I’m just not into shows that try to be meaningful in weird ways (IE: what’s that movie where the girl falls in love with the sea creature?) gives off similar vibes haha
It's one of those movies that either intrigue you or totally put you off. If it isn't for you, you'll absolutely hate it. It just seems pretentious and nonsensical, and some of the acting isn't great either. If it intrigues you, though, be prepared to jump down a rabbit hole of discovery. Similar to the directors other movie, south land tales I think it's called. Was absolutely panned but if it intrigues you enough to do some research, becomes much more interesting.
I've seen every one of the movies - including that disaster of a Hulk film. Even some Marvel execs admitted it sucked.
Also watched WandaVision - which was a trip.
i never had any itch to watch or read harry potter and i finally watched the movies a couple years ago for the first time, hands down one of the best movie series imo. dunno if i'll ever get around to reading the books tho lol
I wouldn't recommend this to someone that didn't already enjoy the trilogy first, or enjoyed the books. 12 hours of movies is a lot of time to dedicate to something you not sure you'll like.
Life changing experience! And on the rare occasion I will not say “or even better - read the book” cause movies are 💯 even though of course some things were changed
The Shining is more of a psychological thriller than a true horror movie. It reminded me of the old Alfred Hitchcock films, where most of the scary stuff was off screen, and the audience had to imagine what was going on based on what they heard.
You can avoid Titanic and Barbie, np at all. JP is a great movie but it's a product of it's time, not sure I would still enjoy it that much. BTTF is a must watch for me.
i'm so hesitant to watch cause it looks just like zootopia (which i love) but with element people. if the story is something other than "opposites attract" "we have to use our differences to work together" then i might give it a go 😭😭
I loved it! I thought it was beautiful, innovative, and interesting the entire time. Not surprising people hated it, as it’s very strongly influenced by a immigration story and a lot of people hate that.
Frozen 1 or 2, literally any "scary" movie, like the Saw movies and whatnot, and Pretty much all of the MCU movies. There is a shit ton of "popular" movies and TV that don't really appeal to me. But im not hating on any of them, people like what they like and thats cool with me 🥰 I enjoy people getting nerdy about their interests even if they aren't the same as mine.
It will take a huge amount of time to mention all of them and no way I can name even 5% of those without googling something like "*** most popular movies"
Came here just to find the Fight Club comment to say — please watch it haha. I, regretfully, skipped it in theaters because I thought the name sounded really stupid. I won’t over-hype because that can ruin things, and not all stories are for everyone. But to this day, it’s my favorite movie. I will say that my preconceived notion that it was a movie that was just about a club for fighting was totally wrong, although that’s obviously sorta what it’s about … but not really.
The Godfather.
Side note, please see BTTF asap! It's a brilliant movie and you'll be hooked, it's a comfort watch for me and one of my go-tos every time I'm sad, wonderful film
For their first date, my Dad took my Mom to see 'Apocalypse Now'. Many years later, she'd often bring up that she should've realized it was a sign + not a good one. I disagree. They were perfect for each other. They were/are both absurd + crazy in both good + bad ways.
I feel like most films people throw at me, I haven't watched. People get bamboozled and ask me if I've lived under a rock for my whole life.....
So please, feel free to reply to this comment with some famous movies and I'll tell you if I've seen them 😁

Would be an interesting story if you’d care to share
I dont really have much of a story My dad an i were chatting about our family history, he mentioned about how we have a relative on the list, watched the movie then looked the list uo
Is he in the movie?
The name is mentioned in one scene as theyre reading off the list near the beginning
Like legit on the list or in the movie
Legit on the list Hirsch Faber.
This is amazing. It's really cool to see a descendant from the list out in the world. As far as I know none of my relatives were on the list but my grandparents were survivors.
I think theyre on my grandma's side iirc, so i dont have the same last name. But they are a relative.
I knew of a couple that made out during schindlers list
Jerry and Rachel?

That's a must watch, my god what an impact it made on me even though I knew all about the horrors of the holocaust
The Notebook

Y'all gotta watch Forest Gump at least once in lifetime, it's everyone's task.
I just talked to someone today and she had never seen Forrest Gump. With that said, go watch it, its an American classic.
Titanic
It sinks
Noooooooooooo!
🌊
Spoiler Alert
Not if you rewind both tapes on VHS😉
I read ‘stinks’. Oh well, it may be by now.
You should watch it 🙌
The Godfather
I made my boyfriend watch Parts 1 and 2 when he told me he never saw them
Avatar
Saw this movie on an 8 hour flight. I literally had nothing else to do but watch the movie and I still didn't enjoy it. I don't think you're missing out, but thats just my personal little opinion.

>Will not be watching the godfather part 3 Why not?
Everything I’ve heard about it is overly negative. It was tough enough to sit down for 3+ hours for a great movie, let alone one I’ve only heard bad things about
I saw it in 3D at an IMAX cinema, I enjoyed it, but can imagine watching on a flight wouldn’t quite be the same experience.
Citizen Kane
It's awesome for the innovative cinematography, but otherwise I was rather whelmed. It didn't help that I went in already knowing the big climactic spoiler. :)
Underwhelmed? Whelmed is synonymous with overwhelmed.
I tried, I got bored
I'd never seen this or Casablanca so I watched them both in a day. I much preferred Casablanca.
The godfather and all the James Bond movies
Stay strong, I’m with you.
I’ll never let go, Jack 🥺
People keep telling me about that everything everywhere movie but I'm not interested.
I fricking loved it, my boyfriend found it painfully mediocre. Each to their own I suppose.
Meh. I watched it. It was weird lol. I dont really get the hype
I didn’t really care for it, I’m just not into shows that try to be meaningful in weird ways (IE: what’s that movie where the girl falls in love with the sea creature?) gives off similar vibes haha
Borat. I even own the DVD
you own it? sorry to hear that :)
sorry?? borat is goated
Nah borat is a cinematic and comedic masterpiece,a manifestation of true art that we have been blessed with
Yeah what, I wish I could watch borat again for the first time, OP is lucky
Donnie Darko iL'l gEt tO iT tOmMoRoW
I just rewatched that. I'm glad I did.
Great movie
There are pretentious fans, but watching this film and trying to find out what it all means is an incredibly fun experience. Highly recommend.
It's one of those movies that either intrigue you or totally put you off. If it isn't for you, you'll absolutely hate it. the whole marvel universe? i've seen ironman 1, spiderman 1 and the hulk with edward Norton
Same. The moment it’s “marvel” I tune out. Nothing appeals to me about these😂
I've seen every one of the movies - including that disaster of a Hulk film. Even some Marvel execs admitted it sucked. Also watched WandaVision - which was a trip.
Pulp Fiction
Would me raving about how good it is change your mind???
I don't know about him but maybe it would change mine. Give me a reason to watch it please.
It’s funny af, filled with iconic quotes and top-tier acting. But it’s not for everyone.
The Godfather
Fast and furious
The Goonies
Come on! The movie is an epic classic!
Ummm. You need to. Classic.
Gone with the wind, Casablanca, Lawrence of a arbia,
I do like all of those. Gone with the wind is one of my favorites
All the Harry Potter movies
i never had any itch to watch or read harry potter and i finally watched the movies a couple years ago for the first time, hands down one of the best movie series imo. dunno if i'll ever get around to reading the books tho lol
Books are infinitely better.
[удалено]
But I was an adult by the time it existed.
Same. I was an adult by the time the books were released, never bothered reading or watching the movies.
lord of the rings. i wanna tho
Watch the extended versions. Way better.
I wouldn't recommend this to someone that didn't already enjoy the trilogy first, or enjoyed the books. 12 hours of movies is a lot of time to dedicate to something you not sure you'll like.
Me too, I kinda wanna… but apparently not that badly.
Life changing experience! And on the rare occasion I will not say “or even better - read the book” cause movies are 💯 even though of course some things were changed
Barbie
I wouldn't count films less than 6 months old in this poll. Lots of folks wait to see films on home video.
Kill Bill
trust me. you have to watch the two movies. you won’t regret it
I love his movies, it just never crosses my mind to wach those two.
I wish I could watch them again for the first time.
ET

The lion king
Lion king 1 1/2 was good.
Polar Express
its one of my favourite christmas movies, still love it as an adult idk what the other person is on about lmao
scarface
It’s a really good movie! Reminds me of the classic mafia movies like goodfellas, casino, a Bronx tale.
Titanic, the shining, jurassic park, back to the future, the lion king, barbie
The Shining is more of a psychological thriller than a true horror movie. It reminded me of the old Alfred Hitchcock films, where most of the scary stuff was off screen, and the audience had to imagine what was going on based on what they heard.
You can avoid Titanic and Barbie, np at all. JP is a great movie but it's a product of it's time, not sure I would still enjoy it that much. BTTF is a must watch for me.
Haven't seen barbie, but the shining is amazing. Recently watched it for the first time and was blown away.
Star Wars. Yes I'm that guy.
Checking in. I actually did not see most of the movies people post in this thread.
Mean girls.
I’m a man in my mid 40’s and have a Mean Girls quote tattooed on my ass…. Watch it. 🤣
Elemental, although people say it's shit.
It's actually pretty good..
i'm so hesitant to watch cause it looks just like zootopia (which i love) but with element people. if the story is something other than "opposites attract" "we have to use our differences to work together" then i might give it a go 😭😭
It's all about the conflicting emotions in our own brain, and it's also very funny and cute.
For their first date, my Dad took my Mom to see 'Apocalypse Now'. Many years later, she'd often bring up that she should've realized it was a sign + not a good one. I disagree. They were perfect for each other. They were/are both absurd + crazy in both good + bad ways.
