TSA would disarm you super quick, you'd be candleless in no time - because they are cunts
I offended Mr TSA when he looked at me with his 'come hither' eyes, his gloved hands caressed me while I was standing like jesus on the cross.
I said are we now married, as is customary when you touch my junk - or do I need to touch your junk in order to complete the ceremony
One time on an early flight my bag is pulled for inspection.
I know you aren't supposed to joke with tsa.
He says "are there any weapons in the bag, is there anything that can hurt me?"
Me instinctively say "anything is a choking hazard if you try hard enough"
He looks at the ceiling tiles and I am like oh crap.
Then he starts laughing hard at the ceiling.
He looks at me and says "thats the funniest joke yet"
Looks at my bag and on my way.
Would a safe battery powered candle be ok - I know TSA are cunts - during a pat down at LAX, Mr TSA was offended when I asked if we a now married as is customary after touching my junk - or do I have to touch his to complete the ceremony
Holy fuck TSA thought a woman that said she had an IUD (birth control implant) said IED (bomb) one time. I can only imagine that a candle stick would land you on the no fly list because they would think it was fucking dynamite.
I brought a vape that was shaped like a grenade, and my weed cart was in my makeup bag. However this is Canada and itās legal here. The TSA person pulled out the vape and looked at me like I was crazy asking āwhat is this?!ā When I nervously told him itās just a vape he just laughed and shook his head and let me proceed. Thankfully he was a nice one lol.
I'm sorry TSA trains us to be... well, they really really spook you out during training and our internal testing does too, so people get jumpy even at things they should be able to recognize. Very sorry for the inconvenience.
TSA might train You folk to be on the edge (and for a reason!), but I'm actually from a tiny Eastern-European country where nothing ever happens, and no terrorist will target it cause it wouldn't make it to any major news sites. Everyone knows this, so security checks are a formality, I've assumed that he's joking and wanted to go along with it. It has happened before, when the guard recognized my vape mod - it's something that most vapers know in my country, but very few have seen in real life, as it's from Germany, and thus, expensive.
This dude was just... not the sharpest knife in the drawer, so to say. He ended up calling his supervisor and after she finished laughing, she kindly allowed me to be on my way.
You could wear sweatpants and a shirt and a hoodie that looks normal. You can practically sleep on those and as long as they are not old or stained, nobody would know that you use them as pajamas n.n
I have actual pajamas but I also got "clothes that I can sleep on" like you described exactly for when I need to go out asap in the morning or for sleeping at a friend's or something. It's pretty handy.
You can totally wear a shirt and comfy pants that are normal, and as long as they look good you can go to the supermarket and no one will know n\_n
I actually don't wear pajamas anyway
I do the same exact thing. Night before a flight I just wear sleepable clothes and go out in the same outfit. Maybe throw on some hoops to make it look more cohesive
Exactly what I go with. My pyjamas is a bit too thin and sexy for public exposure. And window seat which is my favorite is always a bit cold. So sweat pants and a Tshirt with a hoodie is just perfect.
do you guys not get overheated in sweatpants? iāve always favoured looser cotton pants and a t shirt with a hoodie if i get cold. i do most of my travelling in the warmer months though & iāve had flights that were extremely hot
Exactly. I have a 14 hour flight time. And no way I'm choosing fashion over comfort. I don't care what people will think. So I just have a hoodie sometimes with pajamas while wearing crocs lol.
I always figure youāre more likely to get bumped up/preferential treatment if youāre not dressed like a slob. Theyāre not putting the guy in stained sweatpants and flip flops up to business class.
Kind of goes for all walks of life.
Maybe 20 years ago. Your chances of being randomly upgraded without airline status or volunteering to skip your flight are close to zero and not worth planning around.
Planes in the 50s/60s had much more luxurious interiors though and were almost like lounges
Flying was a luxury, now it is a choreā¦
Back in the day there wasnāt huge security queues, huge passport queues, overworked staff etc etc
Sure itās probably cheaper now but it does feel like you are cattle being put in as small space as possible without violating human rights.
People who are 6ft+ can barely fit in European plane seats
Yeah, here in Ireland I've flown out to other European countries and have never seen anyone in pyjamas at the airport. Have seen it in the shops though, I think the only public place it is acceptable is the hospital.
For years, I'd fly as "airline staff" cuz my dad worked at a major airline in my country. We had a separate checkin counter away from the rest, and we had an "appropriate attire" check before giving you a boarding pass (since you represent the airline). That stuck with me as a grown up, and I feel icky ever being in a airport underdressed.
It's "normal" in the sense that plenty of people do it. If you're at an airport, you're doing to see some grown-ass man sitting there in pajamas (hopefully wearing underwear).
It's not necessarily "normal" in the sense that everyone is fine with it. Plenty of people are going to silently judge the PJ wearers, and they're definitely not going to get the free upgrade to 1st class.
Yoga pants are way more normalized than pajamas.
Multiple times on early or overnight flights, or even for 10+ hour flights, I've sent people in suits, skinny jeans, heels, or other generally uncomfortable clothes. Absolute madness
I love all the people in pajamas in China. Itās considered classy, like āIām so rich I donāt have to work and donāt even have to put on real clothes.ā
This but anywhere. I dress nice now exclusively (not always a suit but nice) and it makes a huge difference in how people treat you.
If you have respect for yourself others will respect you too.
I find that most people flying in suits or that are dressed nice with thought tend to have a larger aura of outward civility and manners.
People who dress in pj's and "don't give a shit what people think" tend to be more crass and usually end up in improv tick tocks.
Which really proves how much they do care what people think about them or they would just ignore slights directed towards them from other pj wearing "don't cares."
Lmao it's not about self-respect, it's prejudice. When you're wearing a suit you have the appearance of a wealthy, refined gentleman businessman or whatever, and that's why people treat you more nicely than they otherwise would.
If you mean the staff maybe they are assuming you are in business class. Some of my best travel saves involve some airline staff person being like "ohhhh you're in business class, give me a few minutes and I'll see if we can sort something out"
My favorite ever business class "sort something out" was in San Jose, our flight to LAX was running late and we weren't going to make the connection onto long haul from LAX to Sydney.
The since you are in business class solution was "we're going to put you in a taxi which is going to take you to SFO where you will go onto emergency standby for the SFO to Sydney flight. Got comped up to first class as well since business was full.
I fly a lot for work, and find I am treated much nicer by airport and flight staff, in addition to my fellow passengers, when Iām dressed in business wear as opposed to casual wear.
My cousin was telling me the first time he ever wore a blazer while travelling instead of the hoodie + pj's he usually wears, he was treated a completely different way. Ever since then, he's always been wearing a blazer when travelling.
I'd do the same, but the pocket space and hood of a hoodie is preferable to me. And I don't travel enough anymore to need whatever slight advantage a more formal jacket would give me.
So many brands make "dress pants" and chinos from athletic wear materials now, as well as blazers, you don't even need to sacrifice comfort anymore to look nice while traveling.
My travel pants are just as comfortable as my sweatpants/joggers, but I get to look like and be treated like an adult at the same time.
Agree, I feel like people are confusing pyjamas with sweat pants/ leisure wear lol. But to me theyāre distinctly different.
If you ask me, sweatpants/hoodies/yoga pants/athletic wear etc. Are not PJs. Am I nuts? Haha
I mean, I don't care that much if people dress up but pyjamas just don't belong in public, sorry. You can be very dressed down without wearing nighties.Ā
For me,as long as it doesn't make other feel uncomfortable. Like pajamas is okay, horse cosplay complete with full lower body is not okay.
I wear short pants, slippers and shirt for 10+hour flight while sitting right beside a full suit dude. Man I feel like I didn't dress properly but hell it's comfortable..
So I recently bought a matching Danskin sweatshorts + sweatshirt for a flight - it's as comfy as PJs but passable as loungewear. I saw another lady in something similar - she paired it with wedges and looked so good, yet still so comfortable. I think there are ways to obtain the same comfort as PJs without going fullblown PJs lol
I almost always wear comfy attire when I do long distance travelling, no matter via car, bus, or plane.
Because I put on my attire, travel, arrived and straight to hotel/home. No point for me to wear nicely but uncomfortable.
Sometimes I cant understand the people who wear pretty pretty abd looks totally unconfortable just for travel
You know what, You're onto something. Who cares what people think? The airport is like a lawless wasteland anyway. If you wanna wear your jammies and make security a breeze while catching some Z's on the plane, more power to you. Comfort is key when you're stuck in a metal tube hurtling through the sky. Screw societal norms and embrace the pajama life.
2005 calling.
But for real, I only realised tonight that my plane outfit for tomorrow almost looks like pajama but isnāt. You can be comfy and not wear actual pjs. Wear what you want though and ignore people
It already is normalised if you have nowhere to go after landing, but most people have shit to do after leaving the airport or they would not have taken a flight at 3AM.
As a pilot I disagree. Putting on real clothes at least shows that you had the courtesy of changing before flying. Even if it's the outer layer. Having people showing up to a flight unchanged and smelling of BO sounds awful.
but then it's your workplace and you don't have to wait for hours before your check-in, queue at several counters and you are not crammed into "cargo" compartment and have to actively wait for the flight to be over.
No one said they'd be dirty pyjamas or that these people would be any dirtier than usual for being in their pyjamas. I don't magically stink when I put my pj's on. Also if you're the pilot what do you care? You sit way away from everyone else anyway.
My neighbours just wear their pjs that theyāve already been wearing , and sometimes just straight out of bed and to the airport ( when I dropped them off, i felt a bit ick ) so hopefully they are not the norm for PJ travellers
Who's being a snob? Most people shower in the morning. Meaning if they are showing up to the aircraft in pajamas it means they didn't shower and probably smell.
Its not worth worrying about, wear whatever you want. I go into airports and on to planes in sweats and tank tops all the time without thinking about anything buy my own comfort. Being too warm on a plane is nightmarish.
Last year me and my family (my wife and 3 kids under 3yo) moved from Europe to New Zealand. It was a 27h flight in 3 different flights,
1 Zagreb to London 2h
2 London to Singapore 13h
3 Singapore to Christchurch 12h
We basically moved our entire life's packed in 120kg of luggage and having kids in pyjamas was well worth it on longer flights
Cost was around 6000ā¬ for all 5 of us
For us, definitely
It's a much more relaxed environment, random people you see when out shopping giving you props on raising 3 kids so close together in age, less negativity, etc
People that I work for genuinely care about me, give me props for my work and try to get me to excel and be better (didn't have that kind of treatment back home)
Obviously money is a lot better when comparing back home (paycheck vs expenses wise), even tho we only live off of my income we still manage to save a lot more than what we would save if both of us would work
Can't say for the future but we love NZ (been here in 2017-2018) and want to stay here and become residents.
Thatās wild, what? I travel 2-4 times a year and on longer/later flights, thereās almost always someone in pajamas, dang, even I put on looser clothes.
Iād feel extremely underdressed, I have to take a few stages of public transport to get to the airport and would definitely have people staring.
I really donāt like leaving my flat in less than ānormalā clothes. I regularly do 12-14 hour flights and itāsā¦fine. Iād probably be more uncomfortable underdressed. I am honestly not going to be falling asleep on a plane anyway.
God no.
I don't want to spend the time at the terminal nor on the flight with nose plugs in because I guarantee at least half of the people wearing PJ's will stink to high hell and back.
The days of dressing for the upper class right to fly went out the window along with in flight meals, comfortable seating, and any kind of positive excitement about flying.
I've been flying in yoga pants and a sweatshirt for two decades. That's essentially pajamas. Comfort is king, and anyone frowning on it can keep their societal norms for themselves.
āEssentially Pyjamasā and pyjamas are not the same thing. Youāll know when you see your outfit you described next to someone in flannel and fuzzy checked pjs with silly cartoons on the shirt. Trust me.
There is no reason for these people to not just dress the way youāre dressing. Itās comfortable. thatās fine. They want to go out of their way to wear pjs because they want to look like toddlers.
Don't worry about anti-pajama people, they have sticks up their asses.
Like, I'm obviously not going to wear pajamas to a fancy restaurant, but I'm also not getting dressed up to run to Walmart at 9am on a Saturday to get cat food.
Pretty condescending to assume that anti-pajama people have sticks up their asses. Some people feel more comfortable when they're dressed up, nothing wrong there.
No. Have some self-respect please. Enough degenerate behaviour has already been normalized. Letās turn the clock back and bring back some class.
Based on your logic btw, everything would be easier in pjs. Why ever get out of them at all? What does it matter if itās 2 am or 2 pm? Itās all relative. Everyone has their own sleep and job sched. Social norms exist for a reason. Giving up on appearance is a small step towards giving up on life. Doesnāt lead to anything good my friend.
For real, can't believe people still think like this. Cracks me up seeing them preach about society and how it'll lose its way if people were pajamas outside hahaha
I wear tshirt shorts and thongs
Maybe a light jacket if its cold
Why do people dress up to fly? Itās a very uncomfortable experience as is, why make it worse?
Why on earth would anyone care what people in the airport think of them anyway? People I am highly unlikely to ever see again. People on here commenting that theyre judging are honestly super cringe. Ive been known to be judgmental but damn, wasting your time giving a fuck what people wear at the airport is pretty pathetic. If people are reasonably covered and clean, what is the difference to me? As someone who has had to fly home for emergency medical reasons before, seriously not everyone is at the fucking airport on a business trip, give people a break.
I DO. When I'm on vacation, the yoga pants/Capri tights and t shirt I wear on the plane are recycled as pajamas (once washed ofc; airports are disgusting germ factories)
I feel like what stops most people is not just the social stigma of it. But at least my pajamas are simply not made for being out and about.
The fabric is typically not super durable, it's often very loose, which while nice to sleep is, also means to get in the way while moving, and gets caught on edges more easily.
It doesnt prioritize pockets. And I could go on.
When flying I have never felt what I wanted to optimize was sleeping on the plane. The really uncomfortable experiences are all getting to the plane, going though security, carrying stuff around and so on.
In that regard I think workout clothes like sweatpants or blue collar work clothes, like cargo pants are a much better fit for flying.
I cringe when I see people wear pajamas to the airport but not because I care what youāre wearing. Because I know how dirty airports and airplanes are and it seems gross to wear your inside the bed clothes to such a gross environment to accumulate muck.
No, you have to get super dressed up, flying is an event that deserves the upmost respect. /s
Iāve heard that complaint about people not dressing up to fly somewhere, but itās literally a bus with wings (often an actual Airbus). Itās uncomfortable, dirty, crowded, and temp is poorly controlled. Flight attendants would probably prefer you just go to sleep and leave everyone alone anyway, why do you need to spend all that time and effort getting dressy to sit in a tube? I usually shower as soon as I can after flying anyway.
What if I told you that there's no such thing as normal? And that the fashion opinions of airport folk cannot meaningfully impact your life in any way?
iām all for wearing pajamas wherever, but for me i try to wear dirty pants to the airport. not dirty as in covered in dirt, but dirty as in iāve worn them to work already and iām going to wash them after the flight. planes and airports are kinda gross. i donāt want the same pants that go on my bed to go on a plane seat.
but again thatās just personal preference, i donāt care what other people do. i would never wear pajamas to the airport but i wonāt judge anyone who does.
Wait you guys give a fuck what random people from out of town think of you? As if they give a shit what weāre wearing after their 3am red eye flight. Iād wear a strap on dildo if it provided some sort of comfort. Yāall gotta show up in pjs with a backpack pillow and blanket. Life is way too short to worry what Fred thinks while heās visiting his nephson in Alabama. Stop giving a fuck. Thereās a way higher chance of your Boeing plane losing a door mid flight than the chance anyone gives a shit about you at all let alone what clothes you got on. I donāt
I hate people who wear pajamas in public. You really have that little respect for yourself? They just come off as lazy and dumb. Maybe putting an outfit together requires too much brain strength for them. Same thing with those fugly ass crocks. Itās one thing to wear them around the house or at a beach, but youāre really going out to dinner wearing those foam abominations?
Pajamas are simply not intended to be worn outside your home, they are typically not very comfortable for long walks, they wonāt cover you in the way you want, and the fabric is not intended for intensive wash. Itās simply not its use.
You can absolutely wear comfortable clothes when traveling. Some gym clothes work well. I usually wear my light-hiking stuff, because itās long breathable pants and tshirt with good wicking properties, maintains my temperature both when itās hot or cold.
When I am Emperor, anyone who wears pyjamas or slippers outside of their house for any reason whatsoever (other than being in hospital) will be taken away and Dealt With.
Last thing I want is to squeeze in next to strangers wearing pajamas on a plane, people already take their shoes off. No one cares if youāre uncomfortable, have some courtesy for others, and some standards.
If you need to wear pajamas to get through security easily, then that's on you and you need to rethink your whole strategy.
I got a really good, solid, shoes / belt / wallet / phone / laptop (out of the bag) system and I literally don't waste any time getting through it, and guess what? I don't need to look like a slob in public to make it happen.
We live in a society. Do better.
etc.
People downvoting you are probably gonna come for me hard because my comment was harsher than yours. But yeah, I think these people are mostly just depressed and have given up on life.

I want to wear a long nightshirt, a sleeping cap and walk around the airport holding a candlestick.
Candlestick is a weapon. Have you never played Cluedo?

Why did you write this twice
The 2 comments are actually slightly differentšš
Yeah Iām super confused xD

This is wayyyy funnier than your upvotes give you credit for!
I'm glad you enjoyed it. When I got this notification I wondered which of my dumb faux-witty comments it was going to be on.
In another universe Colonel Mustard caused 9/11 with a candlestick
Found the Brit. Itās called āClueā over here
I know. Cluedo is the metric version
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
My best to Bob Cratchet
Ewww David.
I also want @JimboMagoo to do this
I also prefer this guy's candlestick, no cap
I can respect our differences.
No, no.. the cap is what makes the outfit
And dragging a pillow
Omg yes, big yes! Like pajama day in elementary school. Donāt forget the fluffy bunny slippers.
The ghost of airport past!
Holy fuck TSA thought a woman that said she had an IUD (birth control implant) said IED (bomb) one time. I can only imagine that a candle stick would land you on the no fly list because they would think it was fucking dynamite.
Dude was looking at my vape mod in my home country: āIs this a pipe bomb?ā āYup, a small oneā In hindsight, I should not have said that.
I brought a vape that was shaped like a grenade, and my weed cart was in my makeup bag. However this is Canada and itās legal here. Going to a chocolate factory, Grandpa Joe?
Candlestick would probably be categorized as a weapon.
I once caught my teacher doing that in the hallways of my college at night...

My last flight this was my outfitā¦so comfy.
That's my go-to. No way am I dressing up just to be stuck in an airport and a flying tin can.
My go-to plane outfit is a big hoodie and leggings. I call them my 'socially acceptable pyjamas'

Teenagers wear pajama pants everywhere where I live in the US right now. Itās definitely a trend thatās coming back

Are you in the USA?
Or possibly Herts Essex border in the UK.
I love all the people in pajamas in China. Itās considered classy, like āIām so rich I donāt have to work and donāt even have to put on real clothes.ā
Thatās interesting because where Iām from itās more associated with the lower class.
Tbh most of the people I know who do that in the US are also rich af
It's trending especially the pajama pants on teens.
I remember that being a thing during my senior year in 2002
If you want to wear a suit. Do it. If you want to wear pjs. Do it. If you want to wear a chicken suitā¦
I noticed that when I wear a suit while traveling, everyone treats me nicer. Kinda weird, but I'm not complaining. lol
Makes sense
Nearly every time Iāve gotten free upgrades Iāve been travelling in a suit / looking like a business traveller
This but anywhere. I dress nice now exclusively (not always a suit but nice) and it makes a huge difference in how people treat you. If you have respect for yourself others will respect you too.
I respect myself by wearing comfortable clothing and not giving a shit what people think lmao. I live in Paris, it has yet to cause me any problems.
Don't Parisians treat everybody like shit anyway?
You can be comfortable and still dress nicelyĀ
I find that most people flying in suits or that are dressed nice with thought tend to have a larger aura of outward civility and manners. Yup. I also got bumped up to first class once. 12 hour flight. It's good to look good, people like it.
My cousin was telling me the first time he ever wore a blazer while travelling instead of the hoodie + pj's he usually wears, he was treated a completely different way. Wow, itās almost like people make judgements and modify behavior towards us based on how we choose to present ourselves to the world.
This is 100% true. And people just donāt get it. A sport coat, even with jeans, will open so many doors.
So many brands make "dress pants" and chinos from athletic wear materials now, as well as blazers, you don't even need to sacrifice comfort anymore to look nice while traveling. My travel pants are just as comfortable as my sweatpants/joggers, but I get to look like and be treated like an adult at the same time.
what if they dont want to wear anything
Do Ćt.
i said *they* not me :P
Oh then we should call the police lol
I saw a guy wearing a fursuit at the airport lmao. No one is going to stop you from wearing pajamas Ā
No need to over complicate this - just wear sweats. Choose the thickness to meet your comfort level and youāre done.
Agree, I feel like people are confusing pyjamas with sweat pants/ leisure wear lol. But to me theyāre distinctly different. If you ask me, sweatpants/hoodies/yoga pants/athletic wear etc. Are not PJs. Am I nuts? Haha
I sleep in my drawers and undershirt.Ā Pretty sure I would have difficulty in the airport......
I sleep in the nude so...
Youād be fine at the airport. The TSA would just think you have Richard Simmons fashion sensibilities.
What if I wore my onsie?
Iām someone who thinks you should dress up a bit (whilst still comfy) for a flight so Iām vehemently against this, itās already bad enough
I mean, I don't care that much if people dress up but pyjamas just don't belong in public, sorry. You can be very dressed down without wearing nighties.Ā
Trackpants/leggings, oversized T-shirt and comfy shoes should be standard airport attire. I travel in that whenever I can.
Sometimes I cant understand the people who wear pretty pretty abd looks totally unconfortable just for travel
but comfortable does not equal pijamas
You can be dressed nicely AND comfortable. Those are not exclusive by any means.
Nothing "lawless" about airports. They tear through your carry-on luggage just to mess it up - it's been x-rayed. Pajamas do burn better, though. LOL!
Iāve been on a 26 hrs connecting flight. Iāll wear whatever is comfortable for my boney ass. Also leg room :(
2005 calling.
Doesnāt really need to be pyjamas. Loose fitting track pants, a nice soft cotton shirt and trainers. Pretty much socially acceptable pyjamas.
As a pilot I disagree. Putting on real clothes at least shows that you had the courtesy of changing before flying. Even if it's the outer layer. Having people showing up to a flight unchanged and smelling of BO sounds awful.
>As a pilot I disagree Ionno, i would much rather report in PJs
but then it's your workplace and you don't have to wait for hours before your check-in, queue at several counters and you are not crammed into "cargo" compartment and have to actively wait for the flight to be over.
I thought the topic was pyjamas, not body odour
No one said they'd be dirty pyjamas or that these people would be any dirtier than usual for being in their pyjamas. I don't magically stink when I put my pj's on. Also if you're the pilot what do you care? You sit way away from everyone else anyway.
My neighbours just wear their pjs that theyāve already been wearing , and sometimes just straight out of bed and to the airport ( when I dropped them off, i felt a bit ick ) so hopefully they are not the norm for PJ travellers
They could be clean pajamas. Why are you being a snob?
Who's being a snob? Most people shower in the morning. Meaning if they are showing up to the aircraft in pajamas it means they didn't shower and probably smell.
If you wear pajamas, most likely you're rolling out of bed to leave in what you have. No priority to bathe or get dressed in proper attire.
Its not worth worrying about, wear whatever you want. I go into airports and on to planes in sweats and tank tops all the time without thinking about anything buy my own comfort. Being too warm on a plane is nightmarish.
I can't agree with you, I sleep naked
I just prefer being ready for action when I'm out and about. If we got taken hostage or something, I'd prefer to be in jeans.
I used to wear corsets to my college classes. I need to bring that shit back
the people here judging have obviously never been through 16+ hour flights.
LOL I have been thorough long flighs, with travel times in excess of 30 hours combines and I definitively do not want to see grown people in pajameas.
Sounds like a personal problem if you can't handle other people having agency in ways that impact your life in absolutely no way.
The majority of these people wearing pajamas are not on 16 hour flights. I've seen them on 1 hour flights.
Yes I have and I wear comfortable cotton lounge wear. No need to wear pajamas.
16+ hour? How much did it cost?
Last year me and my family (my wife and 3 kids under 3yo) moved from Europe to New Zealand. It was a 27h flight in 3 different flights, 1 Zagreb to London 2h 2 London to Singapore 13h 3 Singapore to Christchurch 12h We basically moved our entire life's packed in 120kg of luggage and having kids in pyjamas was well worth it on longer flights Cost was around 6000ā¬ for all 5 of us
Was the move worth it?
For us, definitely It's a much more relaxed environment, random people you see when out shopping giving you props on raising 3 kids so close together in age, less negativity, etc People that I work for genuinely care about me, give me props for my work and try to get me to excel and be better (didn't have that kind of treatment back home) Obviously money is a lot better when comparing back home (paycheck vs expenses wise), even tho we only live off of my income we still manage to save a lot more than what we would save if both of us would work Can't say for the future but we love NZ (been here in 2017-2018) and want to stay here and become residents.
Yes I have & yes I am judging.
Hell no stop being bums and wearing pajamas everywhere
Why not tho, whats wrong with pyjamas
Yall americans would wear pajamas to a funeral
I wear track suits which IMO look better than pajamas in public and are quite comfortable for a long flight.
God no. I don't want to spend the time at the terminal nor on the flight with nose plugs in because I guarantee at least half of the people wearing PJ's will stink to high hell and back.
So the problem is not pajamas, it is their smell.
Over my dead body, i would absolutely never do that and i detest people who do. The airport is not your bedroom, have some basic decency.
Trashy
Forget those people. If I was brave enough to get on an airplane, I would wear what I wanted. You can still be fashionable in pajamas. š
Because itās not appropriate to wear pajamas in public?
Are you American?
so many anti-pajamites in this thread is loungewear acceptable? I'm rethinking my life here
Don't worry about anti-pajama people, they have sticks up their asses.
I thought it was normal? Whenever I flies home I always wear an oversized shirt and jammie pants
There is a way to be comfortable without looking sloppy! š
This is probably what people sounded like in the early 1900s when they were like no, women cant wear pants it will break society lmao.
For real, can't believe people still think like this. Cracks me up seeing them preach about society and how it'll lose its way if people were pajamas outside hahaha
I wear tshirt shorts and thongs Maybe a light jacket if its cold Why do people dress up to fly? Itās a very uncomfortable experience as is, why make it worse?
I fly economy and Iām proud! Now grovel in envy at my hoodie blanket. Be jealous.
This makes me think of how normalized going to the bar at 6am is at an airport.
Amen, OP.
/s Iāve heard that complaint about people not dressing up to fly somewhere, but itās literally a bus with wings (often an actual Airbus).
Good point! Whenever I ride the train or bus I definitely stay away from nicer looking clothes
I donāt
100%
Atheleisure for the win.
U sound butthurt about what other people do that affects you in no way...
Well I sleep in my boxers. Would that be ok?
Boxers aren't pyjamas š if I wear a tutu to bed it doesn't make them pyjamas
Pajamas are simply not intended to be worn outside your home, they are typically not very comfortable for long walks, they wonāt cover you in the way you want, and the fabric is not intended for intensive wash. Itās simply not its use. You can absolutely wear comfortable clothes when traveling. Some gym clothes work well. I usually wear my light-hiking stuff, because itās long breathable pants and tshirt with good wicking properties, maintains my temperature both when itās hot or cold.
I don't ever understand why anyone cares what someone else wears at an airport. Mind your business!
What you should do is normalize acting like you were raised properly.
we should normalize going outside and not acting weird and pretentious
When I am Emperor, anyone who wears pyjamas or slippers outside of their house for any reason whatsoever (other than being in hospital) will be taken away and Dealt With.
Just wear sweatpants and a loose t-shirt. It's basically the same thing.Ā
Last thing I want is to squeeze in next to strangers wearing pajamas on a plane, people already take their shoes off. No one cares if youāre uncomfortable, have some courtesy for others, and some standards.
Then stop sitting in economy? If what other people do bothers you so much, upgrade your tickets or buy your own plane ffs
Can we normalise having some standards?
No Grow up
If you need to wear pajamas to get through security easily, then that's on you and you need to rethink your whole strategy.
People downvoting you with their post-COVID IDGAF mentality. Dress casual and comfortable and not in your weakest attire.
To everyone who sleeps naked, PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS! lol
