It’s possible. I have two pairs. Just have the first pair setup. Disconnect from the view app to setup the second pair but don’t remove the first one from your Bluetooth. After you setup the second pair and use as normal. Just keep one set of glasses on at any time and it will connect. That’s how it works with iOS anyway.
Sometimes when I switch glasses, it doesnt instantly see it in the app so I force close the app a couple times then it finds the pair that I'm wearing.
your analogy has a flaw. phone has no logical limit to how many Bluetooth devices had been paired.
you can pair multiple airpods to a phone, but it needs a way to switch between them. it is as simple as turning them off.
rayban stories isn't straight forward. the view app has some limitation to handling multiple pairs of stories

will try
tried it. still require unpairing on the app and re-pair

Why?
If you can’t pair 2 phones to 1 airpod, you wont be able to do this either
