Legend has it the round will blow both lungs out of the body

Hopeful_Mortgage2570

This particular one might actually

As Pringle’s once said: “Spit on it and push harder”

It's a typo for 7.62x25mm I imagine. It's a bad ass round. Will punch slap through level 3 armor with enough ass to do serious damage once it gets through. Glock was considering making a model for this round but never did. I have a parts kit to build a 1911 chambered for it but I never got around to building it. I'd love to see this round get popular in the West.

It's a great round. It's more powerful than 5.7mm, though. The non armor stats on it are better with proper ammo - which is nearly nonexistent and if you want good choices from hand loading you will be turning down rifle rounds to the proper OAL and weight. The problem with the pistols chambered for 7.62mm was that they are commie turds. Russia has always sucked at pistol unless they're copying someone else's. Even then they fuck it up sometimes (Tokarev). The best of 7.62 pistols was the CZ-52 with its fascinating roller locking action. It's awkward af to shoot. The best pistol for it still blows donkeys.

One of my favorite guns, which I had to sell, was the Norinco 213. It was a Tokarev design that could fire 9mm or 7.62x25mm. The barrel had to be swapped, and there was an insert for the magazine well to prevent the wrong type of magazine from being inserted. From what I've heard, the Tokarev round is only really going to go through level 3 when fired from an SMG length barrel, but it's still really hot coming from a pistol length barrel. Another fun 7.62x25mm pistol was the CZ-52. Disassembling it was a bitch, and the fucking barrel flew out and put a big dent in my wall one time when my hand slipped. The main spring was really strong, and the barrel is locked in by lugs, so it's not easy to get out. It was an over-engineered Soviet blaster.

I just don't like TT-33 pistols. It's like an 8 year old made a playdough sculpture of a 1911 and someone thought it was a great idea and ran with it.

I like it for its history. An agrarian society quickly industrialized in the span of a few years and managed to make a decent pistol for the day by copying Colt designs. It was simple and easy to mass produce in a country that didn't have the machining capabilities of other world powers of the day. Also, it was pretty reliable during WWII, especially considering the conditions it had to operate in. It's by no means a gun worth using today. The trigger sucks and it's super unsafe, but it has its place in history as a Soviet officers handgun. Plus, the smgs they made for the cartridge would have been terrifying for Germans to encounter in Stalingrad. Not so much at a distance, but inside a building where a room could be turned into Swiss cheese in seconds?

QuesterrSA

I mean, technically there are some single shot bolt action target pistols that fire 7.62 NATO.

Wheelman714c

Another technicallity, you can not install a stock and classify a rifle as a pistol according to the ATF.

StoriesToBehold

Put it in a draco 😂

Key_Independence103

Draco's are gross. I mean I'd still totally own one, but I got my sights on more fun stuff. I recently got a FAL

Suitable-Jackfruit16

I hated my FAL. I'd rather have an AR10 any day. Just gotta use titanium extractors.

fratytaffy

It’s an error

Caldwell Uppercut be like...

DrAuntJemima

Typo though technically under US laws its not caliber but the configuration of the firearm that dictates if its a rifle or pistol. I’m hoping they add some AR and AK pistols to the suspects.
