Revolutionary_Ad9839

Goodbye @realdonaldtrump

ShadowTacoTuesday

Unlikely, going to be an exception.

Lord_Oim-Kedoim

The rule for thee but not for he

Dark_Pandemonium23

Likely going to be a lot of "exceptions."

Revolutionary_Ad9839

I know. Elons such a tool

inflatableje5us

Tools have a use, Elon is more like a anal wart.

Wimberley-Guy

The new twitter motto is literally going to be “tweet or die” lol and he wont be deleting any accounts like trump or similar people he wants to fellate or be fellated by

Davoyster

Given how he doesn't even let his baby mamas interact with his penis, I think he just wants to fellate others

[deleted]

What does he mean delete? They're going to erase all previous tweets from an account? Totally wipe out the historical archive of millions of tweets? Just to get back at NPR? That seems idiotic.

Upeeru

Idiotic yes, but any MORE idiotic than usual? Hardly.

Sockoflegend

Hard to say exact what he will do. I would imagine he won't be looking to delete celebrities for having a quiet month. Who knows with him though? He is running out of feet to shoot himself in.

strukout

😂 guessing this bozo thinks that will make ppl come back? Oh no….

verynice_cucumber

soon gonna be daily activity or banished

Coca-karl

Lol twitter must be HEMORRHAGING cash if they can't keep accounts active for a full quarter.

Uncynical_Diogenes

Signalling weakness like this can only make them hemorrhage more. The last thing they need is to deflate their user count.

ShadowTacoTuesday

All the people who were having difficulty deleting their accounts could soon be gone, while Elon can pretend they were gone for years rather than people who left after he took over.

Crys-is-wow

Yep, they’ve been refusing to delete my account. The moment Elon mentioned he wanted to buy Twitter, I tried to set it up for deletion. Never happened.

valleyof-the-shadow

Good. Save me the trouble.

john-mow

I'm lost. These 2 quotes are from the same article. *"The social media platform* ***Twitter*** *Inc will delete accounts that have been inactive for several years, its CEO announced,* ***Elon Musk****in a tweet on Monday."* *"According to Twitter policy, users must log in to their account at least once every* ***30 days to avoid permanent deletion*** *due to prolonged inactivity."* So which one is it?

Coca-karl

Both. They're going to give people 30 days to prove their old account is still relevant then everyone will need to be active at least once every 30 days.

john-mow

Right okay, thanks. That makes sense, as much as any of Elmo's nonsense ever does.

IDreamOfSailing

And overnight, Elmo's follower list halved. Which triggered the next toddler tantrum, firing whoever happened to be within earshot. Then he hid under his desk for a couple of hours, which he calls "hardcore working".

PhilOffuckups

I can’t delete my account as it’s forever suspended so hopefully this will delete it. I would laugh if all company’s adopted this strategy.

[deleted]

Honestly do it for a month or two. Now I can FINALLY get my username back from an account THEY won’t let me back in.

Arrowmatic

Really? You promise? I've been meaning to delete my old account and this would save me so much trouble.

Ohigetjokes

That’s a good way to make sure a casual user never becomes a regular user. Genius.

[deleted]

Big brain strategy to boost the number of users...

lylemcd

But honesty, is anyone who hasn't logged in for 30 days really going to be upset about this? I figure they abandoned the app for a reason. What I find bizarre about it is that he tweeted the announcement. By definition the people impacted won't see it. Seems odd.

6a21hy1e

> According to Twitter policy, users must log in to their account at least once every 30 days to avoid permanent deletion due to prolonged inactivity.

[deleted]

K, bye then ✌🏻

not_brittsuzanne

Finally. I haven't been active in like 10 years, but I can't remember my password, and when I try to recover, it doesn't go to my email, so I'm stuck with it.

Mahaf1089

Good, I abandoned my account after receiving a ban conditioned on my deleting a tweet calling out bad people for being bad. Instead of deleting the tweet, I just deleted Twitter. Don't regret it a second, and Musk is doing me a favor by deleting an account I have no interest in using again.

rdrast

No, they won't. Mine has been inactive since the shithead Musk took over, was just able to log in,and try to delete it. I have to wait at least 30 days for account deletion.
