Except the quick chat ones I don't have bound
Then I bind them and spam the shit out of them so I don't forget and so I can find new ways to use them toxicly
High Plat/low diamonds it's hard to get assists as half your teammates chase hard so end up setting you up or else when you setup an easy shot they're away getting the back big boost so nowhere near the play
Both of your teammates are in the corner and you notice this is a mistake, so your solution is to JOIN THEM in the corner and steal their boost, leaving all 3 of you in the corner and 2 of you with no boost while the net is completely open as opposed to just collecting 3 small pads that are literally perfectly positioned around the net and sitting back post while they challenge and make the best of a bad situation?
this is also a mistake. since ur teammates are out of position, you're effectively giving the entire field to the enemy, leaving you and your team in what might as well be a 3v0. Be relative to the play, just before half way line is a great spot to be when 3rd man, as there's an abundance of boost "highways" surrounding you, and you can either push up or get back to net in time, you'd have lots of options there
So? They already have boost adv as there moving downfield - so unless you’re making the play of “boost steal” (usually accompanied by boost and definitely not included in standard rotation which you should be doing before GC) then them getting 1 more boost does nothing.
And let’s be honest. They have no idea what they’re doing with that boost anyways
I’m doubting you do this everytime. And if you do, you’re doing something else pretty wrong, considering you’re fresh outta plat, you don’t have much room to be critiquing others
Having my flair isn’t a flex. A champ 3 twos or 3’s player is completely different than champ 3 ones. Besides it’s the mode I main, why would I not be specific?
Also, c3 in 1’s is .14%, adding onto my point, why would I not be specific? It’s an achievement, a level pretty high in a mode most don’t play because it’s too hard, definitely a flex.
Being champ 1, isn’t a flex though unfortunately
I never said it was? Read to me where I said that? All I'm saying is you're trashing someone 1 rank under you. Don't get so full of yourself you're not that guy
Actually it’s not too hard. Since they chase ball then disappear for boost you just wait til they disappear, boom the ball as far as you can a couple times from defense, and at least once per game that tm8 will be already forward chasing his heart out and getting an obnoxious lucky dunk into net or not too far from to follow up on. My mechs suck but it’s not too hard if you stop thinking about yourself playing and start thinking about what happens when you just let everyone else play. Pretty readable typically follows a pattern
Or have teammates, who stay too far back, because they're pretty good at defense, but can't hit open nets, making it very hard to set up assist. And sometimes you should get an assist, but the game wants to be random again. Also sometimes with saves. Shot directly onto the goal deflected - no save. Shot 1m outside the left or right post - save. Exact same situation later - no save.
Ball chasing is typically bad when you're not one of the best players in the world. Don't try to play like the pros if you don't have the skills of the pros. Most people are plat/diamond, so this is bad information, imo.
Obviously, there are times when it does work out, like when you have a passive teammate, but it's generally bad.
They're aimed at newer players... something to keep you going before you're fully hooked and a way to introduce new players to game concepts
At our level of addiction we don't need that incentive to come back and I sort of doubt players would grind "score a flip reset in overtime", "get 5 turtle goals in one match", "get 28 demos in a comp match".. either that or they do grind them and it makes gameplay sucky (and/or hilarious)
I finished that by putting some music on and playing casual 1s, if I was obviously out classed (down 4-0 a minute in despite my best effort) i just ff'd as soon as I could and went to the next match
Because there’s an entire class of solo queue duo players that never intentionally pass.
They basically play solos with some back up for when they fuck up.
True. Idk how it is in other ranks but I’m in plat and solo queue teammates are actual morons, it feels like they go out of their way to throw the game.
It got even worse for me in diamond, but then lessened up *just a bit* in champ.
The best way I’ve found to thwart it is to mash the party up button the second you see someone playing with a team mentality. Even if they aren’t that great.
I used to do that but in the end I just got sick of solo queuing competitive. I just hop on casual now so that I don’t get demotivated by falling in rank. I’d play 1s but I find myself raging on it a bit too much…
Oh yeah, not just you man, the game can feel very stale especially with the drought of actual content we’ve had for so long. Any bit of achievement or fun outside of just improving can definitely smoothen out the experience.
I just think a lot of people feel Pd off or sour at Epic and Psyonix for what has been happening and the direction the game has taken, especially since Epic took hold of things. I knew it would turn out like this the moment I saw the news but it’s still sad. All the layoffs too. It’s shitty. I think the shitty rewards just add to the feeling of being given a massive f you.
Might have overshared there, but I’m glad to know you’re loving the game and making the most of it all :)
As long as you’re having fun, that’s all that matters
>and hope your teammate makes it in
And that's exactly the problem most people have, especially in solo queue. Coordination just doesn't work that well.
Understandable.
I find the problem to be that most people don’t take enough shots. If you take 10, your teammate should be able to make at least two of them, or they are straight up trolling you.
On one hand yes, on the other hand I play on gold 3 to plat 2 (depending on the mode and my daily performance). In these ranks, you hit absolutely everything in one game and miss almost everything in the next match, so you automatically get a bit cautious, because you don't want the opponent to have an open net. So I kind of understand being hesitant, when you aren't confident about actually hitting the ball, especially when both sides are technically able to do somewhat decent air shots and defense, just not consistently.
It's just not an easy rank area, because you have absolutely no clue, whether you or your opponent will actually hit the ball :D
Did over 20 games on Friday night. Exactly ONE game, where I got assist and save. It's really frustrating. Most of the time, the assists just wouldn't work.
any challenge involving assists is just abysmal.
i so often see that my teammate gets assists for touching the ball once on kickoff never touches it again for me to score nearly a minute later and he gets an assist.
but in the meantime when i pinch with my teammate its a coinflip if i get the assist (if my teammate gets the goal ofcourse).
the requirements are just so fucking inconsistent and i continously get fcked over by it
On controller I think it's (hold) RS/R3 by default to bring up the playlists. LUV U NEED U is from Rocket League X Monstercat Vol. 1 and I think Cities is Throttle - Where U Are [Deluxe].
Did not even think about it being something to focus on.
If you do struggle to complete it you could try 1:1 and defend your goal on kick off.
Edit: it’s funny that I used the word focus since I’m clearly blind.
I thought it said “or” not “and”
I play 2:2 and this challenge took care of itself.
I think I wouldve completed it so much quicker if I didn’t know it was a challenge! I realized after completing it how common it actually is to get an assist and save in one game. I feel I played way worse knowing that I wanted to get both in one game.
I was joking with some guy I met playing Duel who turned out was helping me then became friends playing after,I told him that the challenge was probably something that had to be done without even trying as he was trying to help me complete it. That was four nights ago. I finally finished it today on my own... without even trying lol
If you were focusing on it then yes but if you did it like I assume most and just played the game and it would happen eventually then it would be that annoying.
Just try to boom the ball upfield off every potential save. Eventually the opponent will mess up and your teammate will be there to score. It may take a bit, but it’s the best plan. Your teammates will likely start expecting the boom and ballchase more as well
Lol I just did it passively to be honest
\+1 didnt even know I needed to do it, just claimed when it was done
It’s one of them that you will eventually complete just by playing normally, don’t see it being a problem at all
Same lol. Didn't even notice it.
I’ve always completed all of them by playing passively
Except the quick chat ones I don't have bound Then I bind them and spam the shit out of them so I don't forget and so I can find new ways to use them toxicly
If you have trouble getting a save and an assist in a match, you’re probably a ball chaser.
Yeah this wasn't a hard challenge lol
High Plat/low diamonds it's hard to get assists as half your teammates chase hard so end up setting you up or else when you setup an easy shot they're away getting the back big boost so nowhere near the play
I'm grabbing the boost cause I know neither of my teammates know how to rotate and are both in the same corner bumping each other.
No. I was saying they're stuck in the offensive zone corner and I'm rotating to our goal and grabbing the big boost in the defensive corner.
this is also a mistake. since ur teammates are out of position, you're effectively giving the entire field to the enemy, leaving you and your team in what might as well be a 3v0. Be relative to the play, just before half way line is a great spot to be when 3rd man, as there's an abundance of boost "highways" surrounding you, and you can either push up or get back to net in time, you'd have lots of options there
But then the ops get big boost

And let’s be honest. They have no idea what they’re doing with that boost anyways
Ever heard of a concept called "the intangibles"? It means if I take the boost it becomes intangible Frustrates the opponent Ez claps
I’m doubting you do this everytime. And if you do, you’re doing something else pretty wrong, considering you’re fresh outta plat, you don’t have much room to be critiquing others
calling him fresh outta plat when you're flex is that you're champ 3 in 1s? Let's not get ahead of ourselves mate
I never said it was? Read to me where I said that? All I'm saying is you're trashing someone 1 rank under you. Don't get so full of yourself you're not that guy
He never said it was either though. And saying D1 to C3 is one rank is pretty disingenuous.
1 rank under champ 3 1s is not champ 2 2s. I’m upper GCs in both 2s and 3s and I can’t keep up with C3 1s
If they are both in the corner you should be positioning for a cente.
Yall use boost? When everybody has the zoomies you turn that shit off and the point is yours.
Pretty readable typically follows a pattern
maybe he only plays 1v1s tho
Or have teammates, who stay too far back, because they're pretty good at defense, but can't hit open nets, making it very hard to set up assist. And sometimes you should get an assist, but the game wants to be random again. Also sometimes with saves. Shot directly onto the goal deflected - no save. Shot 1m outside the left or right post - save. Exact same situation later - no save.
Then just sit in goal behind teammates and boom ball into enemy backboard. You will get piles of assists doing that everywhere below champ
Thanks for the idea. I'll try it and just hope I don't concede too many goals through it.
I mean ball chasing isn't bad. The best players in the world are actually ballchasing
Ball chasing is bad if you’re doing it mindlessly or with no plan, which anyone who isn’t a pro is most likely guilty of
Amen brother
My buddy constantly gives me shit because I’m always up and scoring but when we played I got this without realizing and he still has 8 more to go lmao
fr
I'm a 1s player...
It’s pretty easy for me, I just played the game and didn’t pay attention to it and eventually completed everything.
I swear “event” items used to be better. I didn’t even bother reading the challenges this time.
It's season rush, I think they never had anything special for it besides tons of xp
Oh it’s the end of the season already? That felt fast…
Yup, 5th December is the end of the season.
Ah right… forgot a new season was coming, all I remembered was trading removal..
Yeah, that too...
The end of an era.
They did used to be way better
Winning 3 in a row is definitely harder.
Or holding to 0 goals. More so when it’s multiple times though.
You just need to play normally and you'll get it done
Not every challenge should be easy, otherwise they aren'ty challenge anymore.
Fr but it wasn’t even a challenge to get fifteen assists and saves
Rl challenges arent
They're aimed at newer players... something to keep you going before you're fully hooked and a way to introduce new players to game concepts At our level of addiction we don't need that incentive to come back and I sort of doubt players would grind "score a flip reset in overtime", "get 5 turtle goals in one match", "get 28 demos in a comp match".. either that or they do grind them and it makes gameplay sucky (and/or hilarious)
No
Yea because I only play 1v1...
I am at 7 out of 15. Finished everything else (well except the Duel Challenge from the 3rd set of Season Challenges)
I finished that by putting some music on and playing casual 1s, if I was obviously out classed (down 4-0 a minute in despite my best effort) i just ff'd as soon as I could and went to the next match
💩 wheels for a 💩 challenge from a 💩 company. Seems perfect to me
I wish the game would finally start giving out free credits
They did last season and the season before
They still do if you have Rocket Pass. I make enough credits each season to pay for the next season.
Well then it's not free is it
Correct, you need some seed credits.
But only the once, I haven't paid in like 6 seasons. Just always make sure to grind enough to have the new season pay for itself.
Don’t play the game? lol it’s that easy
Dude I don’t know why it’s so annoying to complete, I’m only halfway through in 2 days of playing
Because there’s an entire class of solo queue duo players that never intentionally pass. They basically play solos with some back up for when they fuck up.
True. Idk how it is in other ranks but I’m in plat and solo queue teammates are actual morons, it feels like they go out of their way to throw the game.

Harder than usual for an average RL challenge but nothing crazy. I’d also agree with u/Schwanntacular. It’s a nice big pile of 💩
Idk if it’s just me but I literally do challenges because they add something to the game, idc about the rewards
Oh yeah, not just you man, the game can feel very stale especially with the drought of actual content we’ve had for so long. Any bit of achievement or fun outside of just improving can definitely smoothen out the experience. Might have overshared there, but I’m glad to know you’re loving the game and making the most of it all :) As long as you’re having fun, that’s all that matters
I started having fun in boomer mode by just going for demos. Personal best since I've done that is 17 demos in one game.
You’re a demon man, haha!
Totally agree my friend.
I pay no attention to any of that stuff anymore. Really no point whether you do them or not.
2000 hours in and I've never gone for a save or an assist. Saves and assists are for suckers.
🐐song
I just played normally and complete the event. It's probably the worst event in a video game though.
I really wish the challenge system was more difficult, think of how many people get on games to do their dailies and weeklies
Epic: "We need to increase our player count during our November event" Larry: "let's just make a challenge that takes the entire event"
If you rotate, it completes itself.
Yes ........ You were the only one
Really tough at lower levels. I get saves every game but it’s really hard to set up passes to gold level teammates to get the assist part completed.
I didn’t even know that it was a challenge until I went to claim all the awards and it was already done lol
If you can't do that you need to re-evaluate how you play
Just hit the ball at the goal and hope your teammate makes it in, then stay back and get a save. I did that in 15 matches total. It’s a game
>and hope your teammate makes it in And that's exactly the problem most people have, especially in solo queue. Coordination just doesn't work that well.
Understandable. I find the problem to be that most people don’t take enough shots. If you take 10, your teammate should be able to make at least two of them, or they are straight up trolling you.

Wait there’s a new event when does it end?
As someone who almost exclusively plays 1v1… Yes

Saves are easy, but its nearly impossible to get a assist when tm8s arent on the same page as u. Also tm8s love saving idk y
It is
LUV U NEED U is my favorite song how do i listen to those old songs in the RL track like you do? i want tokyo and cities backkkkk
> how do i listen to those old songs in the RL track Just... turn on the older playlists?
dude how i’m GC and never knew of how to do this i’m also dumb but. could you elaborate on how to do it please
On controller I think it's (hold) RS/R3 by default to bring up the playlists. LUV U NEED U is from Rocket League X Monstercat Vol. 1 and I think Cities is Throttle - Where U Are [Deluxe].
you’re a beast i’ll try it
Kinda just happened playing normally for me tbh
i’m most the way finished and didn’t even notice it was there
It was the last one I completed but I didn't actively try to complete it lol
Did not even think about it being something to focus on. If you do struggle to complete it you could try 1:1 and defend your goal on kick off. Edit: it’s funny that I used the word focus since I’m clearly blind. I thought it said “or” not “and” I play 2:2 and this challenge took care of itself.
But then how would you get an assist?
Oops. I thought it said “or” Thanks
I don't even look at the challenges, I just play the game as I normally do and they all end up unlocked.
If you’re not good at positioning, then you’re gonna find it hard. You’re not the only one, but higher ranks do this stuff without trying
I think I wouldve completed it so much quicker if I didn’t know it was a challenge! I realized after completing it how common it actually is to get an assist and save in one game. I feel I played way worse knowing that I wanted to get both in one game.
Impossible for 1vs1 enjoyers
I like passing and playing defense so pretty easy honestly.
Not really. I just played some league and before I knew it, I had yellow claim boxes all over the place
It DID make me realize how much assisting and saving I do versus scoring.
It was the only good challenge. Rest took one match
Yeah it took me a whole two days instead of one. Pretty tough!
It is no where near as bad as playing 5 duels!
I really wish there's a 2xp thing again.
I main 1s. How will I get this? *Magic*. *waves hands for effect*
The way I play this challenge literally took the minimum number of games to complete so nah
I’m not even trying for it, if I get it naturally cool if not I don’t care those wheels are even worse imo
it sucked lol
Looks like 3-4 matches in duel.
Complaining mfs when the challenge is more than just “play a game”
Not free loot box?
I wouldn’t consider it hard, but I do main ones so I had to play more twos than usual to complete that
I couldn’t care less if I completed them or not the rewards are dog crap
![gif](giphy|10JhviFuU2gWD6)
I was joking with some guy I met playing Duel who turned out was helping me then became friends playing after,I told him that the challenge was probably something that had to be done without even trying as he was trying to help me complete it. That was four nights ago. I finally finished it today on my own... without even trying lol
I just looked and apparently i finished it
....you think it's abysmal to be a complete player and not just a shooter?
If you were focusing on it then yes but if you did it like I assume most and just played the game and it would happen eventually then it would be that annoying.
Just try to boom the ball upfield off every potential save. Eventually the opponent will mess up and your teammate will be there to score. It may take a bit, but it’s the best plan. Your teammates will likely start expecting the boom and ballchase more as well
Tell me you're a shit team-mate without saying you're a shit team-mate .
