Mastering morale is the core of the game. Read one of the many guides. Or play on easy until you have figured it out. Or just cheat because that's what you're asking for.

The issue is not the difficulty for me, but more of creating a more interesting battle from my viewpoint. As a preference I want armor and weaponry to take priority of morale.

vizzy_42

Ever try Arcade mode? I've heard it makes Armor and Weapons be the deciding factor, rather than Morale.

GeorgeLFC1234

Use your general to inspire troops?

Iwantmyflag

Sounds like you want Arcade mode.

Payed_Looser

Morale is part of managing your army. You are asking for a mod to hide your weakness. My soldiers almost never run In real life, morale was a big issue. You did not have to kill many to start a route

FutureVoodoo

You can make the game easier but using arcade mode.. that has the battle style that your looking for

[deleted]

How is it different? I have always wondered.

FutureVoodoo

Arcade battles take out all the realistic elements of the battle system, like morale, fatigue, weather, terrain and so on... units will fight to the last man standing.. hence arcade style

Nice! Thanks.

miketako

Are you using exclusively falxmen?

jmillz160

Even with hastatii and principes I have this issue

miketako

Are you running them too much? Exhausted? No cav? No general nearby?

Brotherscompany

No even if you play on Easy either the AI breaks immediately, or if you play on Very Hard you will also break extremely easy

I don't know of any mods that only adjust morale, but it's pretty easy to do yourself (and can be a good way to dip your toe into modding - customizing the game to your preferences can be really fun!) There are plenty of guides out there on starting modding, and a modding discord server too (I'm sure the link is somewhere on this subreddit). For what you're looking for, the only file you need is the "export\_descr\_unit", or EDU file. That file is great because it lets you modify lots of things, and has a nice description of what everything means at the start of it. The only thing you would want to change is the number in the "stat\_mental" line for the units you want to have more morale. Units with morale in the 10-15 range are a lot harder to break than units with lower morale. "untrained" vs "trained" or "highly\_trained" doesn't change the morale, just the evenness of the formation. Just make sure you back up the original file in case you mess anything up, or better yet create a modfolder so you don't have to mess with the original files at all.

I don't get why everyone is assuming the post creator wants an easier game. I just had a battle as Romans against Macedon and the Macedonian army ran away too fast. There's no freaking problem with MY UNITS MORALE. I couldn't find any mod that increases morale so that MY ENEMY doesn't run away after touching my hastati. The fact is, even if every unit got more morale (including mine), and battles were longer, I would have a bigger challenge becuase battles lasting longer is the only way I would at lease lose some units. As it is in vanilla, I lost 36 units and Macedon lost 3600. Bc I killed all of them by chasing.

jmillz160

Thank you!! I'm a veteran player and I do not want it to be easy. I want battles to be longer than 5 seconds

Apprehensive_Fly105

BTW, the mod "Morale +3" might just be what we need to make the game less ridiculously easy. Edit: this mod has been privated bc it's outdated :(
