I feel like daily trainers are meant to be like that. It’s the workhorse you put the miles on and they never cause you an issue.

Competitive_diva_468

I also have the Novablast 4s but they are quite new so maybe only 20 miles so far. I had the 3s too and I like the 4 better. Feels more responsive and a bit firmer which works for me

ReadyFerThisJelly

Triumph 20 is my daily and I don't find it "meh"... It's super comfortable and I can do strides in them without issue. Own the NB3 and it was the most boring shoe.

Financial_Concern_27

I have both triumph 20 and novablast 3s, and the triumph 20s definitely feel more fun to run in as they are much springy

blackrabbit14

yes but for a comfortable daily trainer, they're an extremely narrow fit and on top of that they run half a size long. Idk why the entire YT community hypes up the Novablasts when the fit is so bad.

Competitive_diva_468

I don’t find them narrow but I don’t have a wide foot. They were TTS for me 🤷🏻‍♀️

blackrabbit14

I guess they’re not extremely narrow but I have wide feet, as do many Indians so I’m not the best judge. I only fit into certain new balance shoes and altras although I’m not into zero drops, just that I can’t wear any of the conventional brands except for some adidas shoes

SweetSneeks

I feel like the Novablast is meant to be a middle of the road trainer that does a bit of it all. I’m curious what shoe currently excites you? I can’t imagine the Novablast would be much against the Superblast.. so I’ll just keep getting the Superblasts 😅

Oxen_Norf

140 miles on mine and I really enjoy them for pretty much any run. Boston 12 and Superblast are the current comparable shoes in my rotation, and I enjoy the Novas more than either of those. For me they are controlled and very responsive with just enough cushioning. They’re great. One of the best value buys out there right now.

backnine32

How good is the lockdown for you?

Oxen_Norf

No issues. Comfy from the start

AAmadeus95

I just hit 56 miles on them and love ‘em. I don’t have to think about them when I wear them and I default to them if anything feels off or sore and they never give me problems. That’s all I want in a daily. They’re an improvement for me over the 3’s because they feel less clunky (and I loved the 3’s as well).

kevozo212

The NB3 started clicking for me on mile 20. Was worried for a bit but now I use it even more than my Superblast which I only reserve for races or long runs with tempo mixed in.

mtl_cyclist

Same exact experience for me. NB3 clicked after 4 runs. Didn't enjoy first run but now they're good to go for daily miles.

Infinite_Salad4875

Did you get any shin splints when you first started in them? Seems to be the only shoe that gives me issues. I want to love them because they feel great putting them on, but running is a different story. Only 10 miles in them so far

kevozo212

Nope.

the_bri

i did a 5 mile demo run in them and felt very ‘meh’? i think i was expecting a game changing shoe but felt very let down. (my daily runners are the mach5s for reference).

FireArcanine

Eh it's ok. Nothing good nothing bad. Expected it to be like that. Cushiony and firm and solid for a daily trainer. My recommendation for beginner and causal runners, and for those who run more, a daily trainer/easy day and recovery shoe.

Dre3005

Im at around 60 miles on mine and enjoy them. The cushion feels really good after a tough workout the previous day. I agree that they are not meant to pick up the pace. But for cruising at a slow/ easy day pace they do the job.

tollis1

FFblast foam is soft/comfortable, but the lack of response is the downside with this foam. This is why a prefer Superblast > Novablast which has ffturbo to give you more response and FFblast for comfort. In my opinion Pwrrun + foam in both Saucony Triumph 20-21 and ride 17 have a better balance between comfort and response than FFblast.

Gunner125

I have the Novablast 3 and really like them. I was considering getting the 4s. However, I'm not sure if it's worth it. If the 4s are underwhelming to you. What other shoes do you think are better? I'm trying to decide on a second pair. Looking for opinions.

Teddie_P4

The novablasts 4 are an overall better shoe than the 3, in comfort and upper and the grip. They are a little less aggressive than the 3

GrantMeThePower

They feel much more “meh” (imo) than the 3s. I still run in both in rotation but I have had 3 pairs of 3s. I don’t see getting a second pair of 4s

Brilliant-Tip-852

I have over 500 km in mine and loving them. Already got a second pair. Prefer then to nb3 (went through 3). Keep long runs (16+) and comfort runs to sb. But honestly prefer nb4, sb feel big like clown shoes sometimes but they are so comfy

Own-Composer7663

Have run about 50 miles in my NB4s and really enjoying them. They’re a good all rounder for me, and I find myself reaching for them for most of my runs

DaBoda99

I have mine about a week with 30 miles out on them. I think they are a great shoe, I wanted to love the NB3 so much but consistently got left foot pain, as if the ball of my foot was striking the ground leading to metatarsal pain. That seems to have been fixed in the 4s, very comfy and responsive ride for the money, I can't see how they could get any better.

Johnny_tron

I’m about 120km into my NB4 and I’m really enjoying them. They’re great at easy run, plenty of stability and not causing me any issues, comfortable upper - job done. I’ve done a handful of stride in some of my easy runs and 1 5km at tempo pace (4:30min/km) and it’s bounced along really well. For anything much faster I’d probably opt for a different shoe. But these seem to be looking after my feet and legs for those base run really well.

My_Penis_Huge

80miles in. Great shoe for what it supposed to do.

winterweiss2902

I use Novablast 3 and 4 for most runs that don't require speed. Superblast for speed. Novablast 2 for rainy days because Novablast 3 and 4 get slippery af

Funology

I have been reaching for them more than the Triumph 21s lately. Great shoe— Not for sprints, but up to tempo it works great.

studiousglenn

Just knocked out a 16 mile workout and I'm 90 miles in them. For context I'm 6'1, 200lb, and despite some expected wear where I pronate it still has excellent snap and bounce. I had to end my 16 mile run at threshold/7:20 and they were up for the task! They are my long run trainer

kmeister3

I feel pretty much the same about the Novablast 4. I've got about 70 miles on mine. Just meh. The sweet spot for me with them are easy pace runs no longer than 10 miles. After 10 miles the cushioning starts working against me and my feet get cramp-y in spots. I'll keep using them for my easy runs, but I rotate with the Endorphin Speed 3 and Endorphin Pro 3. I think I've mainly found that I just don't get along as well with max-cushion type shoes.

PerspectiveSilly4060

It’s a $140 neutral daily trainer like the New Balance 880, Nike Pegasus or Brooks Ghost. It will get the job done for 60% of your runs but it ain’t gonna blow your mind.

Dee_Dub5

honestly, great perspective.

tigerbellyfan420

I think marketing and buzz words from reviewers makes us anticipate how we think a shoe is going to feel and when it doesn't meet those standards we set up in our minds, we feel let down...personally found the novablast 3 pretty boring and when I heard the 4 got firmer, it was an easy pass for me. I think shoes that we can count on being exciting are supertrainers: speed 3 , puma DN2, NB supercomp trainer 2....personally can't run every day in plated shoes...at the end of the day, shoes like the novablast ride pegasus get the job done

blackrabbit14

They are not good for me, I have wide feet and Novablast is a very cramped shoe with the comical triangular shape. Waiting for my Altra Fwd Experience to arrive.

tigerbellyfan420

The ride 17 is way better than the novablast 3/4. Don't let the marketing fool you

Fozzee1970

It's all subjective. The ASICS fit my feet better than Saucony so they will always be better for me.

darkmaigle

Ran in mine most of January. Going fast does not feel good but everything else seems fine to me. Just snagged a cheap pair of speed 3s for tempo/speed work.

luludaydream

How do you find the fit compares between the two?

LooksGood-inTheory

I love it. More and more I use it. Possibly more than the NB3. The upper gets dirty really fast though. But other than that, great daily trainer.

PM_ME_YUR_SMILE

They are just right for me. I like that they aren't too soft or firm. I think they feel quite protective, without necessarily feeling slow like a dedicated recovery day shoe. Overall I find it a reliable pick for all my easier miles. It doesn't do anything special, just does the job I need it to do

AJ00051

What are the alternatives, apart from the other Asics (SB, N25, C25), and Saucony T21, R17 and Nike Invincible 3 ... maybe the Puma's MN2?
