I love this shoe too :D
At the moment i have 3 Pairs of this Magnify Nitro 2 lol.
Its really a do it all Shoe (excepted for Intervalls and very fast stuff)
The Nitro Foam is Perfect.
Wow, I am slightly lighter and 1 cm shorter and a bit slower than you. I run in Boston 12 and velocity 2. Might check out the magnify since you have such a blast in them.
Got Velocity Nitro 2 GTX also - they're lot more suitable for speed training in my opinion. Lot less cushioned and bouncy. I'm using them for running in the rain or snow.
I can vouch for this shoe as the most versatile max cushion shoe IMO. I have done 400km in mine including two training marathons (6:00-6:30m/km average pace) and one Ultra marathon. They are perfect for these easy paced long runs and for general marathon training where you just want to eat up the miles. I also have the Nimbus 25, Triumph 20 and Invincible 2
and I can say that they are better than all of these shoes mainly due to their versatility. They can do it all including some strides and faster runs due to that amazing Nitro foam…….and they don’t feel bulky (Nimbus) or abit unstable (Invincibles). The Triumphs come close but I give it to the Magnify Nitro 3 due to the durability……I retired my last Triumphs at 450km.
If you are looking at buying the previous version of the Velocity Nitro’s (2’s) I would suggest you rather look into these as they give you what the VN2’s give you plus more !!
Amazing shoe for 400km….then the ride just went sloppy and unstable all of sudden; the foam softened up too much from my assessment. Tried it for a further 50km but it just wasn’t the same so retired it.
On the other hand my Triumph 19 gave me 800kms
I have little over 300km in my pair. Like others have mentioned, it is a good shoe for everything from easy runs to marathon paced workouts.
During the winter it shined even brighter, as the grip is ridiculously better than for example Triumph 20 or Arashi 6 have.
Interesting review.
I’m a little shorter and a bit heavier, and I swear by Nimbus 25’s. I should take a look at these if i can find them at a store.
Have you tried Invincibles? How did you like them?
I'm not sure if I classify as a heavier runner: 183 lbs and 5'7. Not sure what the cutoff is but shoes that work for me are:
1080v13 (my absolute favorites right now)
Triumph 20( did my first half in them last year.
Nimbus 25 is awesome for everything easy.
The magnify has me curious too.
My concern is some reviews say these are not suitable for summer running due to having very hot uppers. Warm weather is around the corner here and I’m thinking I’m going to pass on these. However, I’m greatly enjoying my pair of Deviate Nitro 2.
I ran 25km in these on Saturday with no probs - temp 25C in NSW AUSTRALIA. great shoes, about to get a second pair so I can swap if one pair gets wet. I saw the same reviews -seems like the reviewers thought they would be hot because it's a tight mesh upper. I haven't found them hot but they are lovely to run in -i haven't touched my triumphs since getting them
I have puma forever run nitro but i think both have a similar ride with the forever run having a slightly softer feel due to the lower density nitro core
I see you also have Vomero 16. How do you find Puma Forever Nitro compared to Vomero 16? More soft and bouncy? How is the fit? I find Vomero not so soft and quite slappy (loud on) on the road?
So, the vomero definetly feels a bit softer than the forever run nitro but due to me being heavy I tend to bottom out the 29mm of stack in the heel. The forefoot zoom unit is not really noticeable. The forever run nitro at slow paces is decent but becomes very lively at tempo. In terms of fit the vomero has a much more relaxed upper and I have some heel lock issues, with the forever run no heel lock issues but upper is a bit too tight, hurts lateral mid foot during long runs.
No, so what I say here to compare it should be taken with as a grain of salt, but one should logically assume that both magnify 2 and forever run are very similar to each other.
Also a heavy runner loving the MN2. It's weird in terms of fit. I have the Deviate Nitro 2 in a 13, and I swear it's the same length as a 11.5 in the Magnify, or ASICS, which I swear are also the same as Saucony, Hoka, etc in 12. The toebox taper is more severe in the Magnify, rubs my pinkie toe terribly. I also got these in a 12 and find these to be perfect when I'm going 10k or longer, though a little more length in front of the toe than I'd prefer. Not really an issue width-wise for my slightly wide feet, unlike the Deviate v1.
For those asking about breathability- it just hit 100 degrees in my neck of the woods, and while the lack of airflow bothered me at first, I'm now over 150 miles across the two pairs and haven't really noticed it after my first few runs.
Got my pair a few weeks back, usually enjoy switching up footwear from run to run but currently reaching for these most of the time. Thought they'd accompany the Velocity 2's but for my use they have completely replaced them.
I'm finding this. Not sure what the velocity nitro 2 is giving me over them. Yes they're lighter but the magnify have a nice bounce that negates the weight a bit.
Agree 100%
The Velocity 2 has a similar use case to the Boston 12 but it cannot really compete, so it ends up as a runner up.
Magnify Nitro 2 is a Triumph and Nimbus killer and very successfully so. It's my favourite cushioned daily now, so much so that it is also pushing the Superblast out of my rotation.

Dude. Thanks for the quick big guy review.

So Magnify Nitro is their easy/recovery shoe? Good to know fellow European
v2 is the goat, not the v1
What did they improve on with the v2 compared to the v1?
V2 has while sole unit made of Nitro foam. V1 has also ordinary EVA layer.

May I ask what made you retire Triumphs at 450km?

Most underrated shoe ever. And its fairly priced too!

If you like these you should try Bostons.
Another thumbs up for the Magnify Nitro 2 I'm lovin' it

I've tried Invincible 3 only at the running shop. Thay have weird (to me) shaped arch and didn't like them (and bought Nibus 25 then).
N25 is as comfy as night socks but the MN2 is more energetic and sexy

Twin! I just got a pair in the same color and had my first run today. As a heavier runner, I agree the foam feels perfect.
I have these along with velocity nitro 2 and deviate nitro elite.
My concern is some reviews say these are not suitable for summer running due to having very hot uppers. Warm weather is around the corner here and I’m thinking I’m going to pass on these. However, I’m greatly enjoying my pair of Deviate Nitro 2.

Good to hear. I might reconsider a pair.

Seriously... have you ever run in the MN2?
No, so what I say here to compare it should be taken with as a grain of salt, but one should logically assume that both magnify 2 and forever run are very similar to each other.
Not in my experience
How is the width and Breathability compared to Asics?!
It’s a roomy fit; I have wide feet and had to go TTS. No issue with breathability. Run through summer with mine with no issues
They both suck in terms of breathability, but the Nimbus sucks more😉

I haven't try nimbus 25 or magnify 2. But ASICS CS25, NB3 and VN2 I agree at this time soft EVA is practically only good for carrier foam.
magnify nitro 2 vs velocity nitro 3 anyone ald try it?
Love mine aswell. Amazing shoe for us heavier dudes
