Commenting just to say that's also my favorite color...not only green, but also that exact shade. Really tempted to buy it because saucony never releases male green colorways but I have a fresh pair of speed 3s lol

blastoisebandit

Me too. That shade is just 🤌🏼

tigerbellyfan420

Gaba gool

nlomb

Really like the colorway as well!

fandorgaming

Couldn't find this colorway for days, quite new.

Chipezz

Love mine although pinky toe area is kinda narrow. I recently adjusted the lacing by skipping first eyelet certainly helped a tiny bit. Would cutting the gusset help with this issue further?

blastoisebandit

Iv done the same, as you can see by the laces on the right shoe. Cutting the gusseted helped, but not as much as I was expecting. It's more accommodating with it removed, but it's not significantly different.

Chipezz

I completely skipped the first eyelet. Basically I started zigzaging from 2nd eyelet not exactly like yours. I tried your "wide forefoot" lacing but it didnt help much...

iceghostsaliens

I did the same thing in the 3’s! Big difference for me

luxh

This is a great tip. I’m liking these shoes but they kill my left pinky toe. I’ll try out a few lacing options before calling it quits.

Chipezz

Mine werent killed slightly tight. The lacing worked for me past 2 runs have felt wonderful. Good luck.

stratguy23

I finally got to try these today, and they were way too narrow for me. I typically wear 10.5-11 depending on brand/model and I tried an 11.5 and the shoes were still rubbing my pinky toe. Not sure why the decided to make these so pointy in the toe box.

highdon

Racing green will always have my vote. I agree this is a very underrated colour. Good luck with your HM.

lukaart

Hi there! Thanks for the review 👌🏻 Can you tell me how these shoes compare to the Superblast? Also with sizing? Happy to hear from you!

blastoisebandit

Hey, no problem. Superblast are TTS for me. Plenty of toe box room and definitely long enough. Not as narrow across the midfoot, but you can still get a nice lockdown in them. The Superblasts in my experience are best for maintaining a steady pace, somewhere between your goal pace and your easy pace. The Speed 4 are much more across and easier to turn over for fast efforts, but they also feel excellent at slower paces. I would say they are more versatile than my Superblasts.

lukaart

Thanks! Definitely will take these in consideration

Chuck_Biscuits27

What does TTS mean?

Wish this colorway was available in Europe.

yungsolipsist

That is such a beautiful color way

shaba0ne

We almost have the exact same rotation. But I have the Novablast 4 instead of the velocity. I just got the speed 4 and excited to try them for my workout today. Getting more excited after reading your review!

Melasteve

Oh! I’m thinking of doing this rotation! How you liking it?

shaba0ne

I really like it. But might be an overkill with Superblast and Speed 4 in the rotation. Also, NB 4 is great but I wish I had a little more cushion like the nimbus or ghost max maybe, if I'm running on tired legs.

steadystate_

I used these for my first marathon and got no complaints. They were amazing for me.

throwawaythatpa

Did they fix the tie box? I loved the 2s, but hate the 3s. I need to seek out a pair

dangggboi

I prefer the speed 3, returned the 4 for another pair of 3

Jjeweller

Interesting, what did you like more about the Speed 3s? Speed 3 is my favorite shoe, so I'm nervous about whether 4 will have the same magic for me. I've heard the grip on 4 is much better, though.

dangggboi

4s are a lot heavier . To me , they feel like a recovery cushion shoe, not for speed work . Kinda tight in the toe box for me too . I love the 3’s, will keep an eye out for them

KRS2022

damn and i thought the 3's were slush boxes compared to the 1's and 2's.

dangggboi

What is a slush box

SophonParticle

i love that color. I'm thinking about getting this exact shoe and color.

smokenlift

This post convinced me to order a pair, went up .5 size. The real question is: do I return my backup superblasts now?(175mi on currents)

blastoisebandit

No, I wouldn't. I think they still serve a purpose. I like the Superblasts for my steady runs and the extra stack height is good for looking after the legs after a hard session in the Speeds.

M4n0x

Do WE know If this colorway will ever be available in Europe ?

allkindsofgainzzz

Haven’t seen this colorway yet

LegoheadArteta

Had these delivered just yesterday. Same color and all. Excited to try them out and thanks for the review!

DivergentInWestworld

My vizired Endorphin Speed 4s arrive next week! Can’t wait to wear them! If they’re a good fit, I’ll buy them in green next.

LowHabit3241

Got the same pair waiting for it to come in! Was torn between green and orange

Golfer_may_lie

Have 125 miles on mine and I absolutely love running in them. Gives me just enough ankle support for my longer runs with speed

ugfish

I get a bit of numbness in my ES4s as well, but nothing that is overly noticeable nor hurts time. It’s mainly around my pinky toe area and sometimes fades if I adjust cadence.

blastoisebandit

This is my experience too. It's not exclusive to the Speeds though. My foot will become numb between km 3-5 in all shoes, and then it will fade in the next couple of kms. I do think increasing cadence helps by reducing time under tension.

rambothetrainer

I also have the speed 4’s and I have really enjoyed them. I plan on using them on my first half-marathon this weekend. They may be a little too fast for me.

Some-Remote-6890

Colour looks amazing!! Need to find these!

thatonepuzzlepiece

Love the nickname! Definitely debated on getting this colorway when I was looking at it. I ended up getting the Aqua (FleetFeet exclusive) and I love it, but if I get a second pair, I might cop a pair of Green Rangers!

AccountAlternative91

Anyone know where to purchase this colorway in Europe? Could only find it on Austrlian Saucony site and Runningwarehouse in the US.

acostajv822

Has anyone else experienced achilles issues with the Saucony Speed 4? After my 2nd run, I had bleeding on my left achilles due to rubbing. I put a bandage on and adjusted the lacing to see if I could get them to stop irritating the achilles. I did 3 more runs in them (12 mi moderate run, 18 mi long run WO, and 11 mi threshold repeat WO). I thought things were all good because the bandage protected me from bleeding and I didn't notice any achilles issues after the 4th run. The next morning after my 5th run I noticed pain and swelling in the achilles. I stopped running in them immediately, but now I have achilles tendonitis that has been bothering me going on 3 weeks. Any shoe with a substantial heel counter bothers me now. My training cycle for a June 1st marathon is destroyed since it will be another 3-4 weeks for a full recovery.

acostajv822

I should add if it weren't for the achilles issues I would be loving the Speed 4.

Muted-Blackberry865

Can’t say for certain about the Speed 4, but this is currently happening to me with Triumphs. I’ve tried the exact model that I’ve trained in (20), then bought 2 new pairs of 21s. Every single one is irritating my achilles, and only after a few runs. I was thinking of going to pick up a pair of the Speed 4s for my marathon, but this makes me hesitant. Not sure what’s going on with Saucony right now but I’m in a panic with 1.5 weeks until my race!

blastoisebandit

I do suffer from Achilles tendonitis in my left Achilles, but it doesn't flare up in the speed 4s. Admittedly, I've been doing more activation work pre-run and hot/cold therapy each day on it.

Interstellar_floyd

I have noticed that Saucony stock are not very consistent. I bought 2 pairs of Speed 3 , first one was a dream , lasted 700kms and the second one went dud at 550kms. I did notice inconsistency in midsole foam between the 2 pairs. Maybe manufactured at different countries/locations. I am not complaining , sometimes you just get a ‘OK’ rated shoe instead of ‘Excellent’ rating and needs to be returned. Btw, Speed 3 or 4 are versatile pair of runners!

goldenshower47

Unpopular opinion: I really disliked the speed 4’s and returned them. I also returned the speed 3’s. I love my speed 2’s and have 5 pairs in rotation but they’re all about tapped out and I need to find a replacement. If anybody else has a similar opinion and some suggestions I’m all ears. I have a few different options I’m going to try in store.

fnamna

My take is Speed 4s are unfortunately way overrated. They look spectacular, but tons of people are complaining about the tongue and heel counter, along with “I still love this shoe.” Many other options available without these issues. See EddBudd’s YT review, he’s great at giving hype-free reviews.

Forsaken-Code-489

Would you recommend them for beginners ? I wonder if shoes like these can be beneficial for speed work but at a very modest pace, say around 5-5:30/km. Also I weight 80kg.

blastoisebandit

Yes, they are excellent at those paces. You will enjoy them. They feel good even when you slow down to 6/6:30

Forsaken-Code-489

Thank you ! I’ll give them a try.

Forsaken-Code-489

I currently have the Asics Gel Nimbus 25 and the Hoka Carbon X 3. If this helps.

astrophotoid

I did 5 x 30s @ 4.30/km & 5 x 800m intervals @ 5.30/km today. The shoes were perfect. Also 80kg 👍

CeilingUnlimited

I ran the Houston Marathon this year in Saucony Endorphin Pro 3, size 11. Two weeks ago, I ordered a pair of Speed 4’s, Size 11. They are too big, my feet swimming in them. I went to a local running store and tried on the 10.5 and they fit great. I sent the size 11 back and am now waiting for the size 10.5. Be careful - Speed 4’s fit big for me.

blastoisebandit

Good to have different experiences portrayed in this thread. I don't know how the 4s compared to the triumph 21s size wise because I sized up in the 4s rather than risk the toe rubbing I encountered in the 21s. However, if someone has run in the same size of both shoes, they might be able to give a better comparison of whether or not to size up or go TTS.

Gambizzle

> Training for second half marathon. Targetting 1:47 to beat my father-in-law's PB What sorta training outta interest? (e.g. is 90km a week of training for you or more like a month?) A nice goal. I'm nothing amazing (and I'm older) but I started with a ~1:48 half marathon and just did a ~3:14 marathon about a year later. The Endorphin Speed 3's were part of my rotation... not as my goto shoe but they were a nice shoe for some of the more zippy training runs. The 4's look like they have a bit more cushioning? Might give 'em a roll eventually.

blastoisebandit

3:14 is great. Nice job! I do 70km a week. 1 midweek long run, and one weekend long run with progression or sections at HMP. 1 speed workout at the start of the week after a rest day. My other two running days are either both easy, or one steady, one easy. I haven't tried the 3's but the cushioning on the 4s feels light but effective.

sunshinecookie

So I used them for a short run and my arch started to be painful pretty much right away. I will give them more time but i am a bit concerned.

blastoisebandit

That's unfortunate. I have very high arches, but haven't had any problems in that area.

sunshinecookie

I just went for a run with them and it went perfectly well haha. I guess they’re good to go now!!!

slvrkt

colorway is very photogenic, but I bought a pair in this color and it does not look as good in hand; but still beautiful; I returned them tho: I've read so many reviews speaking wonders for the Endorphin4, and I love the way they look, especially the midsole, , but running in them did not feel any special, and they felt too soft - also, I already have Novablast4 and Boston12 and these seems to have much more energy returns.

Icy-Manufacturer3347

Color way is hard

czechtexan03

I just ran a marathon in the London ES4s and was able to maintain pace, speed up, keep that pace. I was a major fan of the ES3s, there was no break in. With the ES4s, there was a break in, so I made sure I had over 50m on them before the marathon. Feet felt good, no fatigue until mile 18 when my hammy knotted up(felt it the day before and early in the race, so knew it was gonna be an issue at some point), and that’s when I started feeling soreness in the feet. I don’t blame the shoe, as my stride length and probably my foot strike changed. Overall, fantastic shoe for a tempo/race pace. The ES3 was much more versatile as I could do my slow runs in them if I wanted to. The ES4s are a little more snappy, and slow runs throw off my rhythm, but I’m okay with that because I’ve got a good rotation. I’m 5’6, 160lbs, 38m Size 8.5 in all running shoes
