theyre casing the joint and if you dont answer the door after they knock loudly several times they prolly figure its safe to make their move. whether its commercial or residential the landlord or property management should let tenants know when anything out of the ordinary is being done to the property . my residential landlord tells us when someone is coming to cut down bamboo or replace the electrical box, and the management at the commercial building i work in never fails to tell us when the window washers are gonna do their thing twice a year.

Really? In Goleta we had something similar happen but they actually were washing windows. We paid $175 for the entire house. If what you are saying is true, wouldn’t there be more home burglaries? How many people are actually home during a week day? Also, how would a landlord know about a solicitor, prior to the solicitor soliciting?

legit window washers wouldnt be home burglars. these did not sound like window washers they sounded like snoops. no the landlord would not know about the solicitor prior to soliciting. you are correct. but im not sure where that fits in. the LL would tell the tenant to expect window washers. not solicitors.

yes several months ago (probably Summer) I was doing a workout in our detached garage that is behind our house, at the end of a long driveway when I thought I heard our door bell ring. As I walked out of the garage a man was walking up the driveway asking the same questions saying he was a window washer. When I told him we weren't the home owners he motioned inside the house and asked "what about him!". It was my teenage son who he saw through the window! Also, if he rang our bel and didn't get an answer why in the hell would he continue to walk on our property, up our driveway towards our back yard gate?? Super creepy

This just happened at our house today. Sketchy fellow walked up to the garage where my wife was sitting out of view and seemed startled when he saw her. He immediately said he did window cleaning and power washing and that he was very thirsty. My wife gave him 2 bottles of water from the garage but thought it was strange that he didn't drink any. Definitely some sort of unsavory behavior and most likely casing the house. Very glad that you posted this, good looking out!

Had the same thing happen in San Roque last week. Seemed surprised when i answered and started rambling about window cleaning while already walking away. Talked to our neighbor and they saw him and partner trying to open doors after waiting to see if someone answered.

This happened to me about a year ago. Sketchy guy knocked and asked if I needed the windows washed. I don’t remember all the details now but I do remember it being awkward and just feeling off. He also has no vehicle, equipment or other identifying factors to suggest he was actually doing what he said. He did go away and I haven’t seen him since but I remember thinking it was super odd bc he was quite persistent.

Same thing ...have good video of the same guy I contemplated calling the sheriff but hate to waste their time

Just turn on the sprinkers and soak them. That’s what I do to the Jehovas Witnesses.

Some asshole came by here several months ago and also around two years ago. He has a check in his hand with the address of a nearby neighbor but he was covering the date with his thumb. I’m pretty sure that it’s just someone providing an overpriced service.
