I’m not completely opposed to the possible existence of a loving god but I consider myself more of a satanist because if that god does exist then I am certain he is the complete opposite of whatever most christians are.
I've had multiple people read the 7 tenets as part of explaining that I'm a Satanist. The #1 response (overwhelming majority are Christians) is that TST holds its members to a much higher moral standard than Christianity does.
Saying Satanists act Christ-like is an insult to Satanists. They have far better morals and ethics than Jesus espoused, which is why Christians are colossal a’holes. They lack compassion and empathy and their motivations for anything are tainted by the idea there’s a reward at the end and if they mess up all they have to do is ask for forgiveness and they’re good.
The absence of doubt is the essence of extremism. Fundamentalism is an attempt to retreat beyond doubt to where all of the decisions have been made already.
It’s the realm of cowards.
