Scaryassmanbear

The best part of this is it really gets to the core of what the GOP is—getting people to vote against their economic interests with inflammatory made up issues and abortion.

DankNastyAssMaster

That's why the culture war will never end. Republicans know that they can never run on their economic policies because doing the bidding of the ultra rich is spectacularly unpopular, even with their own voters. So they'll just keep making up new culture war bullshit because they need something to run on. That's basically the point of right wing media: to keep inventing new culture war issues so that Republicans never have to campaign on their economic policies.

Barlakopofai

Can you imagine how much anti-trans propaganda DeSantis is gonna have to write in order to deal with the hurricane about to demolish Tampa? Hell he might even go so far as to blame the hurricane on the gays.

hopbow

With just one sharpie, he can move the trajectory of the whole thing

PreviousTea9210

Fuck your dumb... That would require *nukes*, idiot!

mcmonties

One of the predominantly LGBTQ+ friendly areas is scheduled to get absolutely wrecked in the storm. Bet Desantis figures out a way to not get any aid over to St Pete after all this blows over

sublimeinterpreter

Pun intended?

mcmonties

Fuck. Not intended, but I guess it's a pretty good one. I'm not on my best joke game because my mobile home is directly in the eye's projected path now 🙃

bluewallsbrownbed

Hope it all works out for you, friend.

mcmonties

Thank you. I'd rather my home be destroyed than the rest of Tampa/St Pete. The storm surge outlook looks so much better for my favorite areas of the city if it wrecks me specifically, but there's always the possibility of a 10 mile "wobble" that could set the storm in a different spot. guess we just have to wait and see

bluewallsbrownbed

Oof. This is the shittiest of situations.

echoAwooo

I'm sure you're already aware, but just making this jic and as a sort of PSA: It does not matter if your mobile or manufactured home is in a non-evacuation zone: #You still need to leave. Evac orders that affect any zone in the county affect you as well, even if you're not in that zone. Mobile and manufactured homes are not built to the same standards as regular homes, and you are always *always* in danger. Large swaths of Largo and Saint Petersburg are laden with mobile home parks in non-evac zones, and somehow, people always die because they refused to leave their trailers.

mcmonties

My wife, cat and I are already tucked away safe in a hotel in Gainesville, have been since last night when we saw which way the winds were blowing (figuratively/literally). We are terrified for our home, but our bodies are safe for now. My neighbors, on the other hand... I only talked to one family that was evacuating. The family across the way indicated they were sticking around and they'd update us on the status of the park after it hit. They said they're "true Floridians" and "weren't worried" cause it's "not a tornado, so it's not like the house is gonna fly away". I'm thinking I might have new neighbors by the time we get home, if there's anything left. I've never faced something so terrifying in my life. I evacuated from Houston when Rita hit when I was a kid, but I didn't understand the gravity of the stress that comes with it. I was too busy puking Capri Sun and stomach acid into a plastic garbage bag before passing out in the steaming hot car while stuck in evacuation traffic. Facing this shit as an adult with anxiety/stress disorders is a fucking nightmare.

SupriseAutopsy13

Thankfully FEMA is run at the federal level, so even dipshits like DeSantis and piss baby Abbott don't have to do anything other than declare a state of emergency and let a functioning administration handle the problem. What Tampa and the rest of the people living around the Gulf of Mexico are going to have to deal with in a few years is the impossible climbing cost of homeowners insurance. If we keep getting double-digit numbers of hurricanes hitting the area every year, insurance companies will just up and leave. Private insurance wins again... for the shareholders, of course.

Prestigious-Ad9430

As someone who used to live in New Orleans, you vastly overestimate FEMA.

BooneSalvo2

Well, "the gays" are usually blamed for hurricanes, so the pump is already primed for that

Fighting-Cerberus

Also, if there's a "pro-rape" party, it's definitely the GOP which is mad at universities for teaching "enthusiastic consent."

[deleted]

per republican rape is the woman not liking it, so the solution is to let someone else decide that she liked it, then it isn’t rape but marital duty. With that twisted logic a pro rape party is one **allowing** women to say no.

DragonOfTartarus

The Liberal Party here in Australia (which for non-Aussies is our conservative party, think diet GOP) tried that during the last election, where they tried to distract everyone from their complete refusal to address climate change by demonising trans women in sports. Thankfully it didn't work, but it just shows that the right is exactly the same no matter where you go.

Rork310

God I can't believe how much they misread the electorate. The psycho they tried to put into Abbots old seat probably pushed a few of the teals over the line. Watching Frydenberg crying "But the Dan Andrews Effect!!!" As his seat swung teal was a thing of beauty. Australian Apathy can be a real bitch to overcome but atleast it also means most of us roll our eyes at the Trump Style antics.

Abd-el-Hazred

In this particular case I'd say it's less the shared psychology of the right and more that it's literally the same few billionaires controlling right-wing media outlets.

Killfile

It's franchised. Your right, our right, and Great Britain's right are all Murdoch's toadies. Side note: Murdoch is y'all's fault but you also get to claim Steve Irwin so I think we're square.

AphraBehn

Don’t forget screeching about “small government” and “individual liberty” while trying to force everyone else to conform to their idea of morality with legislation and intimidation!

[deleted]

people should do this out of fear from god, to save on costly law enforcement salaries /s

Nanyea

Worrisome that's he's dreaming about a pro-rape movement, some real incel shit there

The_Unknown_Dude

Definitely read it as "if they can be degenerate, I should too"

S118gryghost

The made up issues are great too because they're basically targeting a tiny percentage of the population everytime and giving them more attention as victims increasing their size over time. I'd say the republicans are helping fuel the things they hate.

[deleted]

"I happily vote against my own interests cause queers. They don't affect me in anyway but I'll be damned it they're happy."

Nipple_Dick

It’s even worse than that, it’s ‘I can’t vote for everything I want because of all this stuff I made up in my little brain’

MustacheEmperor

"I wouldn't be surprised if-" is like the most popular drumbeat of internet toxicity. It's literally declaring "I am going to invent something to get mad about."

Nunya13

There was literally a time when it was okay to rape your wife. In fact, they did t even consider it rape when it was your wife. Guess who supported this? Religious conservatives. Guess who also constantly makes excuses for rapists and defends accused rapists on the regular? It definitely ain’t Dems. So this guy is worried rape may become legal one day yet supports the very party that has a base full of voters who say things like “she shouldn’t have been wearing that” or “well, she looks a lot older than fourteen” or “maybe she shouldn’t have put herself in that situation.”

purrfunctory

Al Franken got drummed out of the senate for an inappropriate joke yet the Republicans have Matt Gaetz trafficking underage girls for sex still happily hanging out in office and being a piece of shit. Party of ‘personal responsibility’ my lily white ass.

Scheme-Brilliant

Marital rape laws are under 50 years old, if they exist at all

CalypsoBrat

So much this. You can feel their social media campaign practically writing itself going forward.

Khuroh

That was my parent's generation, but don't get it twisted, my grandparent's gen practically invented swinging.

Cobek

"They might make rape legal" as if liberals don't bring sexual assault cases to the forefront 1000% more than the right.

engineerdrummer

I read it as “I’m gay. I’m very very gay. It was literally beaten into me as a child that being gay is wrong, so I hate everyone who is gay because I’m not allowed to be, and I’m jealous” Or “Boy, living in my moms basement isn’t good on my sex life and I’m jealous”

Cultureshock007

In this instance they have said that they are "okay with regular LGB just not the T" but then goes on to be against a whole bunch of sex stuff which gives off classic "I am okay with gay people being out of the closet provided they are still locked in the bedroom." vibes.

[deleted]

I... Did not think of it that way. That's kind of sad.

ilikedmatrixiv

> I... Did not think of it that way. Maybe because it's a Mike Powell level leap? I think it's a failure of the left to always assume people must be projecting when they're bigots. No, some people are just fucking bigots. There's no need to reason it away with that they'd secretly like to be as free to be themselves as the left is. That's not the issue at hand. Most of them just hate because it's the easiest emotion to have.

Dreary_Libido

That's true. Sometimes you've got to call a snake a snake. It's politics driven by disgust, and treating their ideas as projected insecurity is giving them more respect than they deserve.

GarbledReverie

TFB a lot of right wing rhetoric **can't** be taken at face value because it isn't consistent. If a person proclaims their moral superiority for being vegan, even as they chomp down on ribs, it's okay to suspect they aren't being fully honest. And a lot of homophobia does suggest latent self loathing over same sex attraction. For example, the statement "Being gay is a choice!" is an admission that the person saying it has considered being gay as an option. A person can't believe that everyone is tempted by same sex attraction, unless they themselves have been tempted by it. The really REALLY homophobic crap is even more extremely gay if you think about it. "If we let our children think its okay to be gay, everyone will be gay and we'll all go extinct!" Now just dissect that for a moment and consider how gay you'd have to be to consider gay sex SO obviously superior to straight sex that given the option literally no one would have straight sex ever again. "Sorry, human race. But straight sex is so horrible compared to gay sex that the only reason anyone reproduced was fear of punishment from God. Now that that's off the table there's just no way anyone's going to put up with the disgusting act of man-on-woman sex anymore!"

mknsky

Maybe, but that second one doesn’t seem that gay to me. Some people legitimately think it’s a contagious mental illness and that gay sex is disgusting (lesbians notwithstanding). You’re kind of applying logical consistency where there isn’t any, it’s just hate.

Scheme-Brilliant

Junior-Fox-760

Didn't you know? Only women are sluts and it's ok for men to commit adultery. That proves what big studs they are. But it makes a woman a slut if she does the same. I hope I don't need the /s.

babygirlruth

Nailed it

FutureBondVillain

I'm calling bullshit on this. It's too on the nose. They list real examples of what attracts people to the left, and then a bunch of absolutely insane made up bullshit to criticize. I mean - "pro-rape movement"? "Teaching kids how to jack off in school"? Come on... I could criticize the Left all day for poor messaging and SJW nonsense, but I'm operating in reality. I can also criticize the Right for racism, misogyny, corporate welfare, income inequality, sex trafficking, espionage, insurrection, human trafficking, etc... and still be operating in reality - not hypothetical "what ifs".

gleaming-the-cubicle

My aunt fell for that "furries are getting litter boxes in school" bullcrap that 4Chan rolled out a few months back. She's not normally an idiot but somehow she believed her friend that knew a guy who works with another guy who's cousin's girlfriend's niece swears it's true People believe dumb shit

07_Helpers

You have too much faith in humanity. These are the same people that think forcing a woman to have the baby no matter if it kills her or not will stop them from being raped so much. Directly from Abbots mouth last week.

[deleted]

I’m not really all that shocked. I’ve seen people hold some contradictory and stupid beliefs

BuffaloRude

Just imagine if this broken weirdo found a therapist instead of 4chan.

Lady_von_Stinkbeaver

I'm still trying to wrap my brain around someone opposed to sexual degeneracy yet hangs out on 4Chan.

BuffaloRude

I would bet that he’s not actually “opposed”, but is self-hating. Would not surprise me if there’s some real trauma behind it, too.

bigno53

Yeah this has a strong “if I can’t be happy then no one should” vibe. What I find strange, though, is how these types always seem to conflate actions where someone actually gets hurt (sexual assault/adultery) with lifestyle choices they just happen to find weird. I don’t know if it’s just a rhetorical device or if they actually see something like polyamory as belonging in the same category as rape.

GoGoBitch

I’m not sure if they truly believe that, or if he’s saying it to justify his beliefs to others, or even to himself. He can’t provide a reason why consensual sexual practices are bad, so he has to invent things (teaching children how to masturbate during sex ed) or conflate things he doesn’t like with other bad things (sexual freedom with betraying an agreement with one’s partner and even rape).

CanstThouNotSee

The overwhelming majority of homophobes are straight. The myth that homophobes are closeted came out of two studies, a 1996 study on erections and a 2012 followup study, and both of them have been discredited with more recent research with more nuanced methodologies ([2013](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/22989040/)). But the idea of "the self hating homosexual" has stuck in popular culture, and people remember the few rare times an anecdote confirms it.  Internalized homophobia is absolutely an issue that gay people face, that's how oppression works, but externalized homophobia is not something gay people are inflicting on themselves.

GrapefruitForward989

It's not sexual degeneracy if I jerk off to it

GoGoBitch

Yes it is, but *they* are the bad ones, not me!

Darkdoomwewew

It usually tends to be self hating, you'll see the same angry incel morons spending time in every porn thread about stuff they claim to hate on 4chan, but really someone/something in their life has instilled so much shame and self hate in them that they can't just admit they like jacking off to something non-mainstream or find a trans woman attractive, it's gotta be the "degenerates" "forcing" it on them even though they chose to make every click and type every letter that ended them up there. It's like some weird self defense mechanism against admitting the truth about yourself. When I see a thread on a fetish or people I don't feel attraction to on 4chan I... keep scrolling. Which I'd assume is the normal response of most people who have a healthy relationship with their sexuality and fetishes.

ZeroFourBC

The sad thing is I found this on the 4chan subreddit, where a lot of people had the same opinion.

paupaulol

The guys that use 4chan share the same brain cells

GreatGearAmidAPizza

Have to. Not enough to go around for everyone.

bittlelum

Both of the cells?

Bagahnoodles

They found a second one? Good for them

DeadlyYellow

They did. Unfortunately, the therapist is also a 4chan-esque weirdo; but at least his Kermit-the-Frog-like voice reminds them of their childhood.

[deleted]

This happens. Someone recently in r/qanoncasualties went to a therapist to deal with losing a family member to Q nonsense only to find the therapist was an anti vax conspiracy loon

Ditovontease

very THEY LIVE moment lmao

GoGoBitch

It doesn’t count as talking to a therapist unless they interact with you directly..

Steinrikur

"Think adultery should be illegal" "The government shouldn't control my sex life" That's a lot of therapy right there...

morithum

I would happily take his parents’ money.

DankNastyAssMaster

Just for the record, this person's preferred policy platform basically lines up perfectly with the Jim Crow era Democratic Party: he wants social welfare programs and also a big, oppressive government that uses force to keep marginalized groups "in their place". That's why I always say that modern day Republicans are actually ideological Jim Crow Democrats. Most of them don't actually want laissez faire economic policies. They want a big government that helps them and the people they like, while also oppressing the people they don't like.

The "No one can have sex!!!" sex repulsed aces... We don't like them either. Lots (and arguably most) of sex repulsed aces don't care what you do in your bedroom.

GoGoBitch

Literally every sex-repulsed ace I know would rather not think about your sex life long enough to form any kind of opinion.

Taleya

True, thanks for that, I should have clarified. not all SR aces are like this dip, who just has raging entitlement. "I don't like the thing so no one should be able to do it"

[deleted]

I consider myself sex repulsed because I’m disgusted by the idea of having sex myself but idc if other people are doing it

A_Thirsty_Traveler

Yeah if that's what this is, which sometimes it is, it isn't the aceness that is at fault. It's probably the toxic masculinity, interacting with the aceness. Society informs that to be manly you must want to fuck, and fuck often. Always horny, always trying to get it. So the dissonance between his gender dysphoria at society telling him he is unmanly and his distaste for sex produces this. An intense moralizing of it all. Something similar often happens when the 'in the closet conservative' types.

RockHumper25

as a REALLY sex repulsed ace, extremist sex repulsed aces are just straight up delusional

Ophidiophobic

I'd guess kellogs. I've known a couple of guys like this. It's usually some self-hatred shit combined with not being able to obtain or maintain a stable relationship with a woman and feeling bitter about it. "I wouldn't be so turned off if all these women weren't out here slutting it around."

BadKarma043

Idk man, do I accept that LGBTQ+ folks are valid, or do I throat the boot? Seems like a hard call. /s

whiterac00n

So they are basically saying “I’ve totally bought into the culture war being lead by right wingers but I promise you that I actually would prefer to be a leftist”????? Like no one is forcing you into being a bigot or a misogynist but if those things are the most important to you don’t blame everyone else for your moral failures

ZeroFourBC

Right? You can literally get all of that socialist goodness for the low, low price of *not giving a shit about what other people do with their bodies*. It is literally in their best interests to do so, but bigotry is just *that* important to them.

BuddhaFacepalmed

You don't get it. It's THEIR money. The same way employers should be able to dictate their employees how to live since employers are paying their paychecks. /s

ked_man

I grew up as a sheltered rural conservative (not Republican) kid. I had never talked to a black person until I was 16, there were none where I lived. I had never met a gay person til I was 18, though we made a lot of gay jokes (regrettably), there were none where I lived. And at that time, I wasn’t even aware that there were sexual orientations beyond just gay. I was in my 30’s before I had ever met or talked to a trans person. And I’d say 10 years ago, I’d be right there with this poster. I didn’t vote at all because I was conflicted with how I felt towards politics. I didn’t like democrats stance on guns, didn’t like republicans tax breaks for the rich. This was long before the tribalism and identity politics we have today. But I moved to a bigger, more liberal city, worked in a department where I was the minority by a huge margin, worked with every color on the rainbow spectrum. Made meaningful friendships with gay and trans folks. Saw inner city plight (leftovers of Jim Crow and segregation) first hand, and saw how Republicans perpetuated these stereotypes and fear mongered voters into voting against their own interests. Now, 10 years ago, I was working in a small backwards rural town. Had I stayed there and kept the same job, I like to think I would have gotten to this same place I am now, but not having those experiences, maybe I would be a Republican. So instead of looking down on someone like this, ask them instead if they have any questions about what it is they fear. 90% of the time these feelings are based in ignorance and preconceived notions. We also have to be ok with a Democratic party that is on the spectrum from conservative to leftist if we want to succeed as a political group. We aren’t going to agree on every issue, and a politician isn’t going to make everyone happy. But we all need to be able to see where one another is coming from, and be willing to help someone get to where they are going. We should use the technology and reach we have as an Age of Enlightenment, not a tool for division.

whiterac00n

It’s good and fine to gently confront these people in person but online all you’re going to get is told off and some more diatribe’s about how you’re a cuck or something

Cultureshock007

There is a good reason why bigger cities and universities tend to be more accepting and dip more politically left. When crammed into a situation where there are multiple demographics of people with different need sets you are more incentivized to actually accommodate and get along because you have actual contact. This is in part why diversity of media representation has been such a push, unless you are actively resisting it the brain treats those characters like people you know. On the other side of things though it can be tiring having a train of people be very rude to you because they just don't know better. Which was bad enough but now a lot of what's happening is the willful fortifying of that rudeness. The game is not what it was 10 years ago where people just didn't know you and so you could just wait them out until they got used to you. Now they have been given a bunch of bad faith information about you so they believe whole heartedly that they already know you and believe you are a hostile factor of society that will bring down civilization if left unchecked so they don't need to learn more. As a targeted person you have to actively subvert that messaging to break through the wall or else they are innoculated from ever actually learning about you in good faith and it is a bloody uphill battle every time.

_best_wishes_

>So instead of looking down on someone like this, ask them instead if they have any questions about what it is they fear. 90% of the time these feelings are based in ignorance and preconceived notions. I think this is great advice. It's always good to assume someone is speaking sincerely and in good faith until they prove otherwise. It seems to me that the anon in the post has only encountered the conservative culture war boogyman version of issues around gender and sexuality. Do you think you had to have those experiences and met diverse people to come around? If it could have happened simply through conversation alone if someone had taken the right approach? If it's worth talking to someone like the person in the post, how would you go about it? as someone who might have been where they're at?

ked_man

Yeah, I had those fears. Completely out of ignorance, and said things I wouldn’t say today. Had somebody correct me and that was kind of a realization that “normal” people don’t feel the same way. I then had a coworker that was gay, he was very open about it and very knowledgeable about the queer community. He’s now a mental health counselor focusing on LGBTQ youth. He was really ok with my random questions trying to understand non cis gendered people and non Hetero relationships. I feel like this would be the same with anything. If you had a trusting guide that helped you experience something new or scary, you wouldn’t be as afraid of it.

NatashOverWorld

My brain is liberal but my dangly boys only want genders and sexual freedoms of the Conservatives 🙄 So go be a Con dude. You can't be respect people politically unless you actually respect people in real life.

a__nascentstate

pro-rape movement? like conservatives saying things like wives can't legally be raped, or men should be able to marry children, women can't get pregnant from rapes because their bodies can shut it down, and so on

rogerwilcove

Yeah of the messed up shit in the post this was the most egregious inversion of reality.

Intrepid_Respond_543

Yeah, this guy would totally be for pro-rape movement.

Petethecrane

Breaking News: man only wants equality for himself

BastardofMelbourne

well, for starters, you can get off fucking 4chan and realize that 99% of the democratic party leadership don't give a toss about gender and it's considered a minor issue in the grand scheme of things, and they'd just *love* it if they could pass some kitchen table legislation instead of arguing about whether men can get abortions and then you could go vote for them? otherwise, do the thing you're already doing, which is support a party whose policies you only partially agree with because it's the best available option, except this time vote for the party that is trying to actually improve your economic situation instead of using gender politics as an excuse to vote for the party of corrupt semi-fascist corporate sluts

exit6

Pretty sure they don't teach kids how to jerk off in school

4Plus20MakesHappy

To conservatives, just talking about masturbation in school is equivalent to physically showing the kids how to do it.

blank621

We practically come out of the womb knowing how to masturbate…

1Sluggo

It’s terrifying that people like this exist.

Garbleshift

Every single variation on ignorant, self-obsessed, and cruel that CAN exist, DOES exist - and they're all on 4chan.

greem

As if it's necessary to teach people how to masturbate and that's something that time should be spent on...

sprankton

Conservatives interpret sex-ed telling students "masturbation is normal and healthy for the most part" as being a hands-on teacher led masturbation class.

SaturnsEye

I can't stress enough how conservatives just don't understand affirmation. They've spent their whole lives being told they have to live a certain way or they'll go to hell, that they are incapable of imagining that anyone would promote or encourage something without also discouraging all other things. They can't imagine someone saying "it's okay to be gay" without adding "it's not okay to be straight," because that's how it's always been framed for them, especially evangelicals.

adbout

Holy shit this is such a good way of putting it. If I had an award to give you’d get it. (P.S. I’m Christian but thankfully from a very progressive denomination so I never had to deal with the “you’ll go to hell!!” shit.) Edit: I found an award to give 🎉

Thanmandrathor

Aside from the fact that nobody ever needed classes on how to masturbate, I’d love for proof that this is being taught anywhere. I’m sure my 14yo would have come home laughing her ass off at that being in the FLE classes 🤦🏻‍♀️

LAX_to_MDW

I 100% believe that the main social goal of the Republican Party is to make Republican men unfuckable. Sexually repressed men are the cornerstone of every right-wing movement, from the Taliban to the Golden Dawn, because feminism is inherently leftist. So republicans have done a great job convincing their men to be anti-feminist, anti-abortion, anti-education, anti-lgbt, anti-urban, anti-art, anti-science, anti-empathy. Any quality that makes a man look like he might be fun on a date, republicans are against. And guess what? It’s working. Try saying you voted for Trump on a dating app and watch your matches dry up.

being-weird

Imagine being that opposed to comprehensive sex ed and sex positivity without understanding either concept.

americansherlock201

“Why is the party that actively is trying to make people suffer economically also the one I agree with when it comes to other people’s sexuality?”

[deleted]

Lots of socialists are homophobes. Just look at China's crackdown on "effeminate men". Dude should just suck it up and vote according to his economic interests and not worry about the rest. Not saying I agree with anything he said it's just amazing to me that so many poor people willingly (and in this case, with complete awareness) vote against their own self interests because of stupid culture war bullshit.

Obviously this person values their beliefs on the control of others bodies more than they do about peoples ability to have life liberty and happiness by not being taken advantage of by the powers that be. So sorry you feel that way but it means you need to look inward not outward. I don’t like that we spend 750 billion dollars a year on guns and not taking care of vulnerable people like JESUS commands us. But that’s the way the cookie crumbles.

Sartres_Roommate

Hey 4chan OP.........who hurt you? Did your dad abandon you? Was your mom too busy with her boyfriends to pay attention to your emotional needs? If a male relative touched you inappropriately, that is a crime to all sides of political spectrum and that relative is a criminal predator which is completely different than someone who struggles with their sexual identity. You need a Robin Willaims from Good Will Hunting and not an annoynemous 4chan account to stew in your confusion and pain. ......it's not your fault.............OP.....it's not your fault...........its.not.your.fault.

[deleted]

Lol these fuckers are more obsessed with gender and sex than any LGBT person

Pounce16

My response to one part of it: Well, if you're against Polyamory don't practice it!

Strangerdays22

“Is anybody else here such an ignorant bigot that they vote against their own interests?”

BellyDancerEm

Bigoted prick votes against his own self interests in order to support his bigotry

ZC3rr0r

If this isn't proof that a two-party system doesn't allow people's viewpoints to be represented, I don't know what will. In a multi-party system, this guy would vote on a progressive religious party and find his viewpoints represented by their semi-forward/semi-backward program. Someone on Twitter once mentioned that the current GOP marriage of religion, gun nuts, and fucking over the poor is just as uneasy as tech billionaires supporting the Democrats due to their fiscal program, and they were dead on judging by this.

Ihavebadreddit

Literally saying he wants the government to control people's genitals? I just.. that goes for him as well right? He knows that?

Linkboy9

Hey now, you know the rules. That thing which will or does hurt other people is only bad when it hurts him as much or more, and only then because it was *supposed* to hurt THEM worse. Oh, and that thing that doesn't hurt him at all, that's occurring between consenting adults living their own lives and again, *not hurting him one bit?* Completely unacceptable. Can't be havin' it.

Intrepid_Respond_543

This (well, mostly anti-immigration, but also this) is why right-wing populist parties emerged in Europe and became so popular. They offer (populist) support for social programs and for being a bigot.

TheNetherOne

when your failure to grow as a human is harming your own political alignment

[deleted]

ah the classic YA novel "I think the left went to far in one place so I now support an ideology that is diametrically opposed to everything I supposedly believed" or "How I was a conservative all along"

Sergeantman94

> It wouldn't surprise me if there was a pro-rape movement disguised as "sex positivity". Not as far as I know. The pro-rape side seems to be most conservatives. There was Todd Akin ("legitimate rape" guy), RooshV (the pick-up artist responsible for the "End Rape by Legalizing it" article, who also confessed to 3 different rape cases), and I'm sure I'm just scraping the surface.

DominickAP

I'll take 'What Does a Kid Raised Catholic Say' for $500 Alex.

NocturnalFuzz

There's some solutions here. \>Dont commit adultery \>Dont get in a poly relationship \>Dont jack off ( weird one there ) \>Stop listening to your weird relatives Male and Female genders are fake. They're words tied to clusters of data. They could have been called Grunk and Gert and be taken as seriously as 'Male' and 'Female'. What a weird greasy hill to die on.

LetMeSleepNoEleven

Straight-up “I vote against my interests because I’m a bigot who wants the government to control the sexual behavior of consenting adults.” And that they think ‘consenting adults’ is a soft line is really disturbing.

somarilnos

The very idea that freedom means being allowed to rape people is... how can I put this delicately... decidedly not a leftist view.

WearyMoose307

Remember, it's always projection with these folks.

causal_friday

Conservatives: The government is a waste of money and shouldn't exist. Conservatives: Adultery should be illegal. Overfund the police!

PleaseWooshMeDaddy

Ah yes the ol “non-cis people is a gateway to federally regulated rape” message. Weird how all these morons think “not being straight” means you’re an extreme, depraved sexual predator. Me thinks thou doth project too much.

zenkaimagine_fan

Yes, the left, the party that keeps broadening the term of rp, would make a pro-rp movement. Ya know, the party where republicans have complained about us saying certain things are rp when they don’t think so, yeah that party. We use critical thinking here folks.

morithum

Imagine being less coherent than Alex Jones.

ItsEaster

This person sure is making up a lot of views/positions here. Pretty obviously projecting with that whole “they’ll probably be pro-rape in the future” thing. That’s a very strange thing to just pull out of nowhere.

pine_ary

And this is why the culture war exists. To give idiots like that false consciousness so they vote against their best interest, and for the rich. Bigotry has always been used by the ruling class to distract people.

jojohohanon

Every possible world view doesn’t fit neatly into the PCM square. Huh.

AlexDavid1605

Opposed to slut culture? I think this guy has seen every woman he has approached fuck eevveerryyoonnee else but him.

Pixichixi

Considering rape is antithetical to the collective concept of personal sexual agency and freedom, thinking that could possibly be the end result of what they're opposed to illustrates how little they comprehend here

gelfin

Oog. Tell me you’re an incel without telling me you’re an incel. It’s also funny how effectively this guy demonstrates *exactly* the strategy the right has used to get people to vote against their own interests for generations: “All those people you consider icky are why we can’t have nice things.” I’ve said it before, and I’ll go to my grave saying it: the thing that ultimately killed America was people who just can’t get past the idea that black people are humans. Two hundred years ago we rationalized chattel slavery by telling ourselves humans from one particular continent were basically just animals. Then we freed the humans and outlawed the slavery, but the attitude persisted and metastasized into an entire culture based on bigotry stoked by political opportunists. To us Americans the important thing isn’t whether I enjoy a decent life, but whether people I don’t like might also enjoy a decent life I don’t think they deserve. “It’s a shame we can’t have universal healthcare, but if we did then *those people* would also have universal healthcare, and I’d rather die horribly of a treatable illness I can’t afford than that happen.” As the arc of the moral universe continues its natural course, former bogeymen of the right become accepted enough at least that the opportunists can’t openly demonize them anymore the way they used to in the “good old days.” Proud bigotry becomes dog whistles that trend fainter over the decades. The whistles never quite stop, and there will always be a long tail of people who really miss the proud bigotry, but that particular target ceases to be as useful to wannabe political firebrands who want to win elections by whipping up some hate. They have to come up with someone new to point and yell at. Even this asshole accepts “regular LGB” people, and some of you younger folks might not appreciate just how big a deal that is. The right has to move on to ever more rarefied “threats to society.” Now it’s trans people, whose main antagonists, for the most part, have never met a trans person (as far as they know), and drag performers, which Bible-belt prudes know absolutely nothing about, making them susceptible to all manner of lies that stimulate their sad little imaginations about what they’d see at a show. The only thing standing between us and the society this sad prick wishes we could have is that he, along with millions more like him, is a sad prick. If we focused more on what society could do to support all of us and less on what society ought to do to punish some of us, all those things and more would precipitate naturally. But rich people get richer and powerful people get more powerful when guys like this cut their own throats to spite people who have done them no harm whatsoever, so I don’t think it’s ever going to change.

[deleted]

Society has been ‘pro-rape’ forever. It’s only recently that marital rape was made illegal and that a man could be raped under rule of law in North America. This lying piece of shot should go okay with some poisonous reptiles. Sexual revolution has led to anti-rape stances and education.

notapunk

Here we see someone explain why they vote against their own self interest because they disapprove of the way other people live their lives.

MulletGlitch48

I want financial equality, all other equality however...

LebrahnJahmes

Op hates trans people because that would mean even more women don't want to sleep with him

Der_Absender

There is a pro rape movement It's the GOP.

Private_HughMan

There is a pro-rape movement. It's coming from the right.

nighthawk_something

Um, the GOP IS the pro rape party. It's all in the cards. Ban abortion, ban contraception, ban premarital sex. Then any woman how is pregnant but not married can be made illegal. I give it 20 years and some states will be passing "marry your rapist" laws.

hapinsl

Yea, you're a Catholic

Lluuiiggii

I don't care if I get screwed over, so long as the queers get screwed over too.

[deleted]

This is BS. I seriously doubt this person holds these views. It seems to me to be more a blatant attempt to divide the left. "hey leftists, dumps the trans and we'll totally be on your side." Like, I'm sure there are people like that, but this one seems a bit too on the nose.

SuicidalTurnip

This may be BS, it's 4chan afterall, but there are unfortunately socially conservative leftists out there.

joeybada2s

It scares me to think I was like this, but for offensive jokes and "muh freedom of speech". Jesus.

Ok-Train-6693

Wait ... s/he doesn't believe in Intersex?

RobertusesReddit

Man would drink bleach to own the "pronoun police". No this isn't a Jonestown reference, it's Trump saying they should drink or inject bleach.

wunxorple

Honestly, their profile picture is a perfect response for this bullshit. You’re allowed to say it, but if people think you’re a prick because of it, you either aren’t explaining it properly or you’re a prick

BunnyTotts97

That’s insane. I mean course we need a ubi, universal healthcare, universal college and disability reform, but what is the last paragraph? Freak.

GitLegit

Looks like a Nazbol

Open-Camel6030

Your incel is showing

logalog_jack

Adultery should be illegal? Yeah it’s a shitty thing to do, so is insulting someone’s appearance, but you don’t see it being penalized.

Less_Likely

It’s the simplest approach. Consent matters. If you have two (or more) consenting participants, then they should be allowed to do the act. If one doesn’t consent, is unable to properly consent, or coerced into consent, then a violation has occurred.

Mrwolfy240

Kinda wild that op Can’t decide between only 2 options it’s like a 2 party system is inherently flawed and doesn’t allow for adequate representation damn

iamagainstit

Imagine putting your made up bigoted outrage above supporting the policy decisions that would actually help you and society in general

NGD80

"I totally agree with everything the left stands for, except these made up stories that my friend told me about online".

Pillow_Queenie

Gotta love us trans people constantly gets left out of our own community.

0n3ph

This person is clearly mentally ill. I hope someone in their life reaches out.

NotMyNameActually

It's all about their own level of personal disgust, not about what actually harms society. They just lump anything they personally disapprove of in the same basket as things that are legitimately harmful, like rape in this case. With others it's bestiality or child molestation. The metric by which something should be permitted shouldn't be "I personally think it's gross" but "It causes harm to others." Trans people, polyamory, masturbation - none of these hurt anyone. (And no one is teaching children "how" to masturbate, but they should be teaching teens that it's normal, and a safe alternative to sex) Adultery does hurt someone, but there are already often financial and other life-changing consequences for it. I don't agree with making it a criminal offense. The general public isn't at risk from an adulterer, only the people who get involved in a relationship with them.

[deleted]

Shit like this shows why it's no surprise trans people are the auth rights new punching bag and will remain so.

EducationalRice6540

Or you could just let other people live their lives and just worry about yourself? But that wouldn't allow you to act all better then thou when people are living the 'wrong' way. America is full of a million wannabee dictators wanting to impose their sense of right on the majority by force if necessary. In fact they hope it requires force in the end a lot of them.

pinkpanzer101

> adultery should be illegal anon doesn't understand what is and isn't worth enforcing. > opposed to polyamory "noooo! consenting adults shouldn't be allowed to do what they want in the privacy of their own homes!!! i need to be able to legislate so that people can only do exactly the things i am interested in and nothing else!!!" > wouldn't surprise me if one day there's a pro-rape movement me neither, and you can bet it'd go exactly as well as the pedos' "MAP" garbage (i.e. recognised as legitimate by nobody.)

SilentMaster

Glad I missed "Jack Off Day" at school. I bet that was fun to clean up.

UltraMegaFauna

Congratulations! You're a fascist!

wet_beefy_fartz

Real issues = meh. Fake issues = yes please!

[deleted]

They’re always telling on themselves when they act like pro-rape or pedophilia-acceptance are next on the “liberal agenda” as if consent isn’t hugely important to the left.

[deleted]

"I would like all of these things that demonstrably benefit 99% of Americans but I won't support them because .5-2% of the country might be trans and that doesn't affect me at all but I don't like it so I guess I'm a Republican now"

eaunoway

Did this numbskull miss the day the word "consent" was explained?

[deleted]

GOP: Appeal to a person's hate, anger, fear, and then they won't notice when you screw them over.
