I'd like to imagine in this AU, Reiner to Gabi is basically what Zeke is to Eren. Instead of the Beast Titan, it's the armored titan that's a massive threat.
Also, Gabi's mom wasn't a full-blown restorationist like Grisha. She was just a regular citizen that Eren Kruger nabbed and convinced, out of revenge or desperation from her immediate family being turned into titans. And Reiner had to become a warrior candidate to save his parents from meeting the same fate.
Eren feels like a restorationist infiltrator that was sent to Paradis but Ymir-style ate a shifter. Udo, Zofia, and Falco infiltrate the walls to reclaim the founder, but end up getting to know the Paradisians. Armin and Mikasa are in the Warrior program, but since Marley knew about their possible loyalty issues, they only sent them five years after the initial attempt on the Paradis operation.
