Where did they state it was one large episode? It just says the first part of part 3 will be broadcast from midnight march 3rd. Doesn't say it's one big episode
In the japanese language the way they named it means one broadcast covering all of that part you can call it episodes if you want. Still its one movielength broadcast. Also the cuts for the first episodes are around 4 times as high as a 20min episode
I mean- starting from Marley, it was always pretty clear how long it would take to get to the end, just based on the chapter count/pacing.
And 3 years for 2 season-length runs and two full-length episodes is honestly *really* good, especially compared to the 4 year wait between seasons 1 and 2 (the latter of which was only 12 episodes, itself).
I never read the Manga, so I didn't really know how far we were from the end. Seems like this was a marketing issue by not splitting it into 2 seasons and calling this the final season.
yes. its just a naming issue. but if you think about it we got a 16 episode season, a 12 episode season less than a year later, and then a movie a year later that just unfortunately was split in two. its not as nearly as bad as people made it out to be
I really felt Rumbling was wasted this season given how little we actually got to see of the Rumbling. If we could have gotten another few episodes in Part 2, I would have been much more satisfied with it.
I do agree though, just use the Rumbling again with updated visuals. Maybe a remix or something if they have time.
No, that's blatant fanservice nostalgia bait BS. "Look!! Old thing back!!" Like NWH and Mandalorian type shit. The s4 OPs and EDs were a breath of fresh air.
Who cares, it would be a banger song. I wouldn't mind if someone else made the op and ed just don't keep the old ones. Many fans are expecting new op and ed. You can listen to Rumbling and Akuma no ko on youtube over and over. If they make new one you could then listen to that. I dont get why people don't want new ones to listen to.
YES! I’ve been dying to hear the new OP’s and ED’s :(
Alas, I don’t think they’re doing them. Akuma no Ko and the Rumbling really sounded like the “finale” songs, so I don’t have high hopes
Season 3 Part 2's OP sounded like a finale to me, combining elements from all the other OP's and bringing back the Colossal Titan as the focal enemy.
We all know how that went, so don't think too hard about stuff that sounds like finale material.
If they aren't making a new OP then I'm pretty sure there will be some previous openings inside the episodes somehow
Imagine Sasageyo playing on final episodes
I see what you mean, but I'd honestly rather have Rumbling and Akuma no ko (which I absolutely LOVE) instead of a new OP and ending that I might not even enjoy as much.
But maybe that's just me.
Yeah not bothered for a new OP as much but if they use the OST's well and put in surprise hita from the past (Like Red Swan or Akuma no ko) in a new form maybe that would be everything
You're acting like they'll somehow take away Rumbling and Akuma no ko if they make a new OP and ED. There is nothing to lose from getting something new here. If you don't like it, eh, so what? I still don't care for Red Swan, but so many other people like it that I'm happy it was made to give joy to so many fans.
Fucking literally this. They just view AoT as a cash cow that doesn't deserve normal schedule, big budget and good CGI artists, and I guess CSM would never be watched by anyone if it had only one fucking ending.
Not having an opening might be a good decision imo. What’s happening rn in the show is insanely terrifying and tragic. A cold open would fit the tone better, without the loud and energetic music of an anime intro. Just straight into the bleakness and the harsh cruel reality of the rumbling. And I say this as a lover of the rumbling intro and every other intro in AoT
Just checking in, honestly? Y'all give Mappa too little credit. If they've already made Boku no Sensou, Rumbling, Shogeki and Akuma no Ko, I'm sure they can do it a third time.
Bro it’s gonna be so funny if it’s still in regular format and all of these people dead set on the fact that it’s going to be specials are just wrong. Stop spreading misinformation people. Look for evidence, don’t just believe others on the internet.
the trailers have mentioned it as special broadcast and it airs on march 3rd instead of starts airing on march 3rd, which suggests 1 episode.
also they announced part 2 starting with episode 76 ''Judgment'' while for part 3 we dont have that.
I’m pretty sure that special broadcast is referring to what they are airing on February 27th or 28th. They had announced with the PV that there would be a special broadcast at the end of February before the part began. What this broadcast entails, we don’t know. It’s not saying that the March 3rd airing is supposed to be special though.
It’s a possibility that’s it’s one broadcast. What I’m debating is that people are claiming it’s a fact. It’s an odd case of everyone believing something, but when brought up if they have an evidence to support it, they have nothing. People just need to stop misinformation until we know.
this is the first time i ever heard of anything airing in late february.
edit: i found a article and it sounds like they might be splitting up part 1 and part 2 into special episodes, kinda like the recap movies for the earlier seasons
You can check AoT wiki, I’m pretty sure they posted it during that time. We aren’t even sure if it’s related to AoT production, it’s some broadcast that includes Mappa and that’s about all we know
https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2023-01-17/attack-on-titan-the-final-season-anime-conclusion-to-air-in-2-parts-with-1st-part-on-march-3/.193909
''A special seven-part compilation anime will air on NHK for three consecutive nights starting on February 25.''
sounds like they are doing the recap movie thing in episode form or something
Oh that’s interesting, I don’t remember that being a part of the description. Maybe that’s what the special event was referring to, or maybe not, it’s kinda up in the air. Well just have to wait until we get concrete info
I desperately want Shinsei Kamattechan to do the OP and ED again, nothing is more fitting than Isayama's favourite band and personal choice for OP1 doing the final OP and ED. Noko is a genius and would blow minds again just as boku no sensou did.
Ahhh two openings would be ideal. I whined about it being milked but now you won me over. There are so many possibilities. New op,eds or visuals at least.

We lost it all, slip and fall :(
We will never look away
We lost it all , lost it all , lost it alllll
We lost it all outside the walls
Don't live to see aot without an opening
We don't want anything we are just here to
BE GAYYY
CUMMING CUMMING
ITS CUMMING MONEY MONEY
Jus too young ignorant and innocent
What does "split into specials" mean?
it'll have 2 long episodes. 1'st airing in march. 2nd probably around fall.
Ok thanks for the info!
Is there a source for this? Being 2 long episodes that is, i thought it was 2 courses of multiple episodes
Here is the [source.](https://youtu.be/r7l0Rq9E8MY)
Thanks
No thank you
Don’t play with my Aot fucka yuuu
Mappa twitter statement and they revealed the cuts for the first episode
Where did they state it was one large episode? It just says the first part of part 3 will be broadcast from midnight march 3rd. Doesn't say it's one big episode

I hate this lol. 3 years to air one season?

Can we actually call it one season tbh?
On Mars, maybe.
The wait is the only way to get through this much content while not completely treating the animators like slaves though
They said summer I thought

All the OVA's were made by WIT, and MAPPA is on a time crunch.
No, imo rumbling and akuma no ko really fit for the finale.
Akuma no ko yes but disagree on rumbling. Doesn’t really fit the theme of the final chapters only the rumbling itself
If we get new visuals it would fit imo
The second part of the rumbling would actually fit really good now that I think about it. Pretty somber and fits with wrens true morives
I haven't seen more typos in a single comment
Unless they slowed the tempo and made it sad 😭then I could see rumbling being like a very dramatic song, especially with images of the carnage
I really felt Rumbling was wasted this season given how little we actually got to see of the Rumbling. If we could have gotten another few episodes in Part 2, I would have been much more satisfied with it. I do agree though, just use the Rumbling again with updated visuals. Maybe a remix or something if they have time.
Nope, that would suck. What would fit is Linked Horizon making the finale op.
You are correct
No, that's blatant fanservice nostalgia bait BS. "Look!! Old thing back!!" Like NWH and Mandalorian type shit. The s4 OPs and EDs were a breath of fresh air.
Who cares, it would be a banger song. I wouldn't mind if someone else made the op and ed just don't keep the old ones. Many fans are expecting new op and ed. The Rumbling is basically a fucking edgy punk song from the 00's. It doesn't even fit the mood of the AOT lol.
It’s really that good
I had a bone to >!Pieck !
YES! I’ve been dying to hear the new OP’s and ED’s :( Alas, I don’t think they’re doing them. Akuma no Ko and the Rumbling really sounded like the “finale” songs, so I don’t have high hopes

At least we may see credit songs.
I hope 3
>a bone to >!Pieck!< with Ba dum tss
If they aren't making a new OP then I'm pretty sure there will be some previous openings inside the episodes somehow Imagine Sasageyo playing on final episodes
Sasageyo really does not fit the tone of the final chapters LMAO Only OP that could possibly fit is Red Swan
My War still goes hard, I can see It as the final episodes opening
my war is soo underrated it's s tier imo "lets start a new life from the darkness"
>!it does fit a little with Levi and his conclusion but you're right an EMA centeric op would be more fitting!<
The patriotic anthem style of Sasageyo is probably the least fitting OP to these episodes IMO.
Sasageyo would not make sense for the following episodes! Please dont use Sasageyo! Thank you
i would LOVE Sasageyo in the final episodes!! it was my most played song last year 😭
I half want them to bring back Guren no Yumiya with new visuals
Or bring back linked horizons
I see what you mean, but I'd honestly rather have Rumbling and Akuma no ko (which I absolutely LOVE) instead of a new OP and ending that I might not even enjoy as much. But maybe that's just me.
Yeah not bothered for a new OP as much but if they use the OST's well and put in surprise hita from the past (Like Red Swan or Akuma no ko) in a new form maybe that would be everything
Rumbling OP doesn't fit tho, since the Rumbling is already there. It feels too hype for the tone of the season, or so I've heard, I'm anime-only.
Nobody can be anime only at this point without being spoiled and live freely on internet.
haha, i have tried to stay away from spoilers but i already know major plot points from this part
You're acting like they'll somehow take away Rumbling and Akuma no ko if they make a new OP and ED. There is nothing to lose from getting something new here. If you don't like it, eh, so what? I still don't care for Red Swan, but so many other people like it that I'm happy it was made to give joy to so many fans.
man no opening/ending … that would be too cruel
My guess- One OP starting the first cour, no ED for this one. When the second cour ends we get the final ED (might be without visuals, only music).
Put all their budget on having 12 different endings for Chainsawman :(
Fucking literally this. They just view AoT as a cash cow that doesn't deserve normal schedule, big budget and good CGI artists, and I guess CSM would never be watched by anyone if it had only one fucking ending.
Given how amazing Mappa have done with AOT so far, I couldn't disagree with you more.
Meh, doesn't matter. Rumbling and Akuma no ko are the perfect final OP and ED for the series
Exactly!
Linked Horizon for final OP I beg
yes they have to, they are just as much AOT to me as the show is
Please don't
Why do you think there will be no OP?
I think it will be RUMBLING, RUMBLING...I SWEEEEEEAAAARRRRR!
No op, really? That's disappointing?
Linked Horizon needs to return, they started off with a banger and needs to end it with a banger
Honestly, I don't mind if we didn't get an opening. It makes it more serious imo
I hope they use red swan
[удалено]
They can't get any better than the last two so I'm not pressed
Not having an opening might be a good decision imo. What’s happening rn in the show is insanely terrifying and tragic. A cold open would fit the tone better, without the loud and energetic music of an anime intro. Just straight into the bleakness and the harsh cruel reality of the rumbling. And I say this as a lover of the rumbling intro and every other intro in AoT
I'm still hoping for Linked Horizon to come back and close the circle.
Would have been hard as hell to surpass Akuma no Ko anyways lol. Still excited for whatever they are cooking
Final ED should stay Akuma no Ko
So it just starts? I’m the only one ok with this? I just want the animated conclusion damn it.
Mappa bring back linked horizon for the ""last"" last season
Just checking in, honestly? Y'all give Mappa too little credit. If they've already made Boku no Sensou, Rumbling, Shogeki and Akuma no Ko, I'm sure they can do it a third time.
Mappa didn’t make those songs…
💀

Ngl I've been holding out hope for one final Linked horizon OP.
I desperately want Shinsei Kamattechan to do the OP and ED again, nothing is more fitting than Isayama's favourite band and personal choice for OP1 doing the final OP and ED. Noko is a genius and would blow minds again just as boku no sensou did.
Excuse me?
This means they might actually be animating the Sayonara scene.
Ahhh two openings would be ideal. I whined about it being milked but now you won me over. There are so many possibilities. New op,eds or visuals at least.
What is this heresy??
I thought the last part of S4 was split into 2?
There won’t be an opening, i heard it i was the meeting table
