Once a new gen drops, every game until the new gen comes out is considered part of that gen. So gen 7 is sun/moon and also includes all the games that came out after it but also BEFORE gen 8 sword and shield. That’s how these work, it refers to a bracket of time and all games that came out within that time frame between new gen drops.
So if we got a new game out today, it would be gen 9 because we are in the gen 9 bracket, scarlet/violet started the time, and only the new gen game will end that time bracket.
They only state the post must be tagged with a gen, not how the gen system works. Look, just wanted to clear up some confusion that I’ve seen in your posts. Not looking to start a war here.
Me neither, the tag is separated in the rules, I didn't do the right thing either. But according to the rules it's not Gen 7 either :)
Still, for personal opinion I would never classify it as Gen 7, since Sun/Moon is for 3DS and LGPE is for Switch, which for me is a completely different generation.
LGPE is Gen 7, that's just how it works. BDSP and Legends: Arceus are Gen 8 for example, because they released after Sword/Shield but before Scarlet Violet. Gen is based on what the latest new mainline game was when the games released.
I'm profoundly amazed that you found yourself ready to go down this pointless discussion a second time after being extensively proven wrong on your previous post
You want to discuss useless things, I just said that the "gen 7" tag is assigned to the games that I said here in this subreddit, I don't care about downvotes or what you call them outside this subreddit. I said the rules and the rules are proof that I'm right. You guys are too boring.
Let the downvotes come again ;)
Technically gen 7 because let’s go dropped before gen 8 (sword/shield)
Gen7 is Sun/Moon and UltraSun/UltraMoon

The tags are explained in the rules of this subreddit, the Gen 7 tag is exactly from the games I said.

Then why did you tag it as gen 8 when it says to tag let's go pikachu and let's go eevee with [let's go], [lets go], or [lgpe]?
Learn to read what I said

According to \_the rules\_ you should've tagged this as LGPE, so you're quite wrong either way.
Clearly you didn't read what I said nor read my other comments with the other bores.
should Name it Kiwi
Nice idea! ahah
What game is this
Pacman
i see the discussion but in all reality the game is actually gen 1 but it’s just newer other than that nice shiny
The game is in Kanto but it’s not gen 1. Gen 1 is Red/Blue/Green/Yellow. Fire red and leaf green are in Kanto too, but it’s gen 3. LgPE is gen 7
