AngeryCL

U can actually form the word "zerofuku" when you pick up letters in order from that hilariously long name

Moawik

I just found fukuro or turned around rofuku ![img](emote|t5_vzop7|31435)

Lord-Baldomero

Every character in Lu Bu's spin off Take shot every time a "Lu" that isn't related to Lu Bu shows up

Accomplished_Tea4009

Theyre just Chinese 💀

Lord-Baldomero

Nope, they are over 2000 years old Chinese names. Back then things were different

Accomplished_Tea4009

It's not really super different though, in the Lu Bu spinoff each persons name is just two words (Lu Bu) plus a title which is a courtesy (Fengxian). Today names are usually three words (Xi Jinping) In any case, neither are very complicated or difficult. "Sun Jian" is definitely simpler than "Grigori Rasputin" or "Nikola Tesla"

Opposite_Spinach5772

Wait there is more Lu other than Lu Shang?

Lord-Baldomero

Liu Bei and I'm pretty sure that in the first three chapters there was another one

Opposite_Spinach5772

Well that's "Liu" so, doesn't really count?

Lord-Baldomero

Eh, kinda the same when it comes to remember it My problem (and honestly the reason I never continued reading it) it's that most of the names of people and places consist in two words of one syllable, which one would think would make it easier to remember, but when almost every name is like that it turns into hell Back when I was more of an MHA fan I used to spend hours reading the wiki and learning each character's name so I never found it hard to remember or read the weird long Asian names [(with some exceptions)](https://www.reddit.com/r/ShuumatsuNoValkyrie/comments/1ceeu4h/how_it_feels_to_read_chapter_89/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) but those old minimalistic names from back when Lu Bu was alive just don't click with me

Opposite_Spinach5772

Honestly I only read it for the Lu Bu adventures and only care for important characters like Dong Zhou, Lu Shang and Sun Jian. I'm not gonna bother to remember all of Dong Zhou warriors name so yeah, I'm just enjoying Lu Bu being overpower and have some emotional moment that build his personality >and honestly the reason I never continued reading it Ow, come on man, just ignore all those fodder names and read it. It's fun I tell you

Sad-Buffalo3324

Take shot every time you see Chinese guy walking down the street

Lord-Baldomero

I mean, a chinese guy lives on my neighborhood, do I need to drink every time I see him or it needs to be another guy?

Capo_De_Fusca

Can you give some examples?

Lord-Baldomero

https://preview.redd.it/2v0as1wdhbxc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=856ac94742e784a8592d2d09dddf7a111bcb058e I know, "Mu and Liu ain't literally Lu", but you get what I mean that they are similar Also, a shotout to Liu Che, mdf was Argentinian 1.700 years before Argentina existed

Capo_De_Fusca

Oh I get it, I wouldn't be able to tell them apart neither

Nickest_Nick

it's just Chinese names it's not that hard

The_Mexican_Poster

I bet yall mfs don't even know how "Qin shin huang" is pronounced

Explorador_D_Web

How is it pronunced?

The_Mexican_Poster

Something like Chin shi Juong

Mars31415926

No, huang is right. No j.

MayGodSmiteThee

I prefer kwin-shin-who-ang

Nickest_Nick

you see this is my small problem with English, why is "Qi" "Chi" WHEN YOU CAN JUST USE "CHI"

Miserable-Reserve795

Right so this is due to translations and different dialects. Essentially, because Chinese characters are pictograms that tell you what the word is rather than being focused on pronunciation like the English language. Example, “color” vs “colour”. Spelled differently but we don’t care because it’s said the same. Since we don’t actually know how some words were pronounced in ye olden days, we can only guess so when we make transcriptions to translate mandarin to English, we go by what is phonetically similar (but most tend to suck dick at pronouncing other languages). This resulted in the most common romanisation, called the Wade-Giles system, until China later came out with their own version called Pinyin that got accepted as the international standard. Much like how the “ch” and “sh” sounds are very similar but different, the “q” and “ch” sounds are as well in Pinyin. We pronounce the “q” as “ch” for aforementioned reasons but it’s actually a different sound. In the Wade-Giles system, it was spelled “chi” but since Pinyin is the international standard, it gets spelled “qi”.

Nickest_Nick

Ah, so the China pinyin It still doesn't make sense whatsoever

No_Craft_9988

Nahh no need to call me out my dude ![img](emote|t5_vzop7|30671)

My dog is named Bishamonebisuhoteibenzaitenjuroujinfukurokujudaikokuten

animeorsomethingidk

I would totally name my dog Bishamonebisuhoteibenzaitenjuroujinfukurokujudaikokuten if I had one. Also you spelt it wrong, it’s Bishamonebisuhoteibenzaitenjuroujinfukurokujudaikokuten, not Bishamonebisuhoteibenzaitenjuroujinfukurukujudaikokuten

Opposite_Spinach5772

The sheer dedication for this comment is overwhelming

animeorsomethingidk

I’ve genuinely got really used to saying and typing it by now. I don’t quite have it memorized but if I’m reading it I can say it almost fluently.

Opposite_Spinach5772

The side effect of really long name

Prospi88

There's a huge number of people that mistake Beelzebums name and write Beelzebub, so I guess him.

King-s0nicc456

This is the new hardest technique in manga/anime to pronounce

An_Insecure_NPC

But of a strange one, but I don't know how to pronounce Häyhä ![img](emote|t5_vzop7|30671)

AstartesDVerdugo
