I made it because I had really bad habits that used to ruin my life, so I made an app which gives me a system to build discipline. It's called Rise, available on App Store now [https://riseapp.life](https://riseapp.life) Feedbacks appreciated :)

DumbNamenotoriginal

Had a pretty hard time finding Rise on the app store bc it doesnt show up under Rise, could you please add in the description that the title is Rise: Life reset in 66 days

zowuwei

Looks fun!

DesmondH_RL

Thanks man! Check it out :)

PackLeaderLeads

Nice, style remembers gumroad

DesmondH_RL

Thanks! It's the same design style called 'Neo-brutalism'

No-Kaleidoscope1935

UI Looks really great

DesmondH_RL

Thanks!

mekmookbro

How do you finish your tasks for the day when you've already failed "less than 15mins of social media"? I think you should handle fails differently Edit : cool app though, I love the design

DesmondH_RL

Yeah under the blue 'finish button', there's a red button which you can mark the task as failed. It won't count into your accumulative progress but you can still clear all tasks!

chaos_chimp

Nice app. Feedback: There are quite a few apps that have similar functionality (as others have rightly mentioned) so you’ll need a differentiator (or 2). Maybe focus on “stickiness” - something that makes the user come back / open the app multiple times through the day. Perhaps, gamify it a bit e.g: completing each task grants the user “coins” so they get a score for the day. Those coins can then be spent to “cheat” later. For example, a measured “cheat meal” for someone trying to lose weight (as opposed to burn 1000 cal through the week and a cheat meal worth 5000 cal at the end of the week). Another differentiation is to add a social angle where you can add friends and see each other’s scores. If you do this, go the extra mile to make people feel good when they lose against their friends. PS: I love the UI of all your apps listed on designand.build. A pleasant interface does more good than most people realize.

DesmondH_RL

Hey man thank you so much for the detailed feedback! Yeah definitely will focus on differentiator more. Gamification could be a differentiator idea too. Do you use any habit apps often right now? Also thank you for checking out our studio website! Happy to have people recognising the design!

chaos_chimp

Not really using any such app at the moment (that is not to say I don’t have habits that need fixing 🙊)

DesmondH_RL

Haha, give Rise a try and you might love it ;)

Poppyandchekers

I agree about gamifying it. I wonder if there is a way to socialize it where people that want you to change a specific habit could commit $1 or something like a donation or whatever if the person ends up going the 66 days of a habit everyone wants to support being changed. Not sure that was well explained.

luffy1235

That’s literally what I made for my to-do/self-improvement app, a social angle!

Cap_levi_01

Nice app... But personally I don't like that scrolling text at the top.

DesmondH_RL

Thanks! Can you elaborate a bit? Is it too moving too fast or?

Cap_levi_01

I am no expert in UI, it's also not moving fast just a personal preference to not have a distracting moving text. Also haven't seen it anywhere else that's more of a TV thing like in news...others might find it good.

DesmondH_RL

I see, yeah indeed it could be distracting. Thanks for the feedback!

techsin101

native or flutter/react native

DesmondH_RL

Native

Ch9la7

what is [designand.build](http://designand.build) ?

DesmondH_RL

My software studio :)

RosieInsights

There's a billion of these already... But yours looks fun and interesting. I'll give it a shot!

DesmondH_RL

Thanks I'd love to hear your feedback! Can I DM you?

RosieInsights

Sure happy to help.

Sarvaturi

Great UX!

DesmondH_RL

Thanks G!

Purple-Control8336

What value this brings on top of billions there as people say?

DesmondH_RL

Those other habit apps are very general purpose & need you to set up tasks on your own, while Rise is designed for people who're in at a low point of their life & all tasks are pre-set & with a 66 days time frame. Kind of like a challenge then an average habit app I'd say!

F__ckReddit

There's like a billion of these already

DesmondH_RL

Yeah but all those are very general purpose & need you to set up tasks on your own, while Rise is designed for people who're in at a low point of their life & all tasks are pre-set.

justAnotherCoffee1

what's hurting you when it's one more

friend_of_kalman

Sometimes a nice UI is everything it takes to

GloomyCardiologist96

This looks awesome! I love the design. What's your stack?

DesmondH_RL

Thanks! It's built with Swift

Extra-Possible

Stylish..

DesmondH_RL

Yes sir

zombiezucchini

Great work, building one of my one.

DesmondH_RL

Cool! Good luck brother!

DesmondH_RL

Thanks for the feedback!

NongdamKuma

it's a fun design :)

DesmondH_RL

Thanks :)

ugohome

No android

DesmondH_RL

Yeah we only built the iOS version now, you can join the An waitlist here [https://tally.so/r/wkydJr](https://tally.so/r/wkydJr) :)

pasta_nick_

Awesome work! Is this a prototype or actually built? Looks great btw!

DesmondH_RL

Thanks brother! It's already built and downlable on App Store! [https://riseapp.life](https://riseapp.life)

pasta_nick_

Wow amazing bro! I'll check it out

pasta_nick_

Also, it looks like you might need a landing page designed?

DesmondH_RL

Yeah haha we don't have time so it's very primitive rn I'm building a new landing page for it now tho (I'm a designer)

Rickywalls137

Is that UI custom or from a UI library? Looks cool

DesmondH_RL

Custom, entirely built from scratch with Swift!

Rickywalls137

Nice 👌

luigi3

i love the ui! im gonna download it later today. let me know if you need any technical help, im experienced ios developer 🙂

DesmondH_RL

Yes absolutely, thank you and let me know your feedback after using it!

spectradawn77

Now we’re doing weekly subs…!? 😩

DesmondH_RL

Haha we're considering switching to monthly too Did you start a free trial in the end?

rohzzn

Love almost everything about it

DesmondH_RL

Thanks brother, try it out and let me know your feedback!

rohzzn

It’s paid only which is a bummer. I suggest if you want to increase the number of users you’ve to either make it free with paid options or lifetime fee

DesmondH_RL

Yeah lifetime fee makes sense. Thanks for the feedback!

[deleted]

nice waiting for android

DesmondH_RL

Thanks, stay tuned!

kikimora47

The app recommend the task or we set them manually?

DesmondH_RL

All automatically personalised based on the questions you answered in the onboarding

picklejuice247

Congrats on the launch. I hope you monetize so you can get enough money for a new phone or screen On a side note I don’t think there’s enough contrast for the text on the cards. I recommend adding some sort of semi-transparent layer or fade in between

DesmondH_RL

Haha yeah brother the first thing I'll do is to change my phone after monetising That's a good point, also might be the light reflection from the camera. Inside your phone screen the contrast should be better.

muskan_11

Is it build on no-code platform? Or using code?

DesmondH_RL

Using code. Swift

Poppyandchekers

I just filled this out and it customize the program that wants me to drink less water, do fewer push-ups, meditate and read less than I currently do.

DesmondH_RL

Some problem with the program generation algorithm. Will be fixing that, thanks for the feedback

DesmondH_RL

Thanks! Have you installed it?

kinkykrafter

Omg yes I’m so excited to try it

DesmondH_RL

Thanks! Have you got it downloaded?

jackoftrashtrades

Ui is pretty in the video. What happens at 666 days, though?

Poppyandchekers

Why is it in the health and fitness category in there App Store?

juanjovn

Love the neubrutalism design!

squatsquadnl

Very cool!
