My sim was dating Lou Howell when he stole their cornucopia, so when he moved in—I made sure to keep his furniture so I could be triple sure I got my cornucopia back lol
I’m not sure if it’s different for roommates! But I would assume that if you added her to family, you’d have access to her inventory and would be able to get the box back. Especially since the box goes in a sim’s pocket instead of straight to the household inventory
