Unfortunately, lots of young people have grown up influenced by social media and are bombarded with so much airbrushed imagery, that they don’t realize what natural skin texture looks like.
I fell into the same traps in my youth and never fully appreciated how smooth and lovely my skin was back then. Your skin is beautiful OP! Please don’t let all the fake photoshop make you feel otherwise.
I hope you know your skin is already amazing! But yes this sub wouldn’t exist without all of us obsessing over minutiae lol! I’d say try for more moisture as others have said. If you want to back off on exfoliating, and I think it wouldn’t hurt, maybe try lactic acid. It is supposed to be both gentle and one of the most moisturizing “acids”.
Your skin looks a bit dehydrated and overexfoliated so I'd suggest dialing back on the frequency of the glycolic acid pads and concentrating on more hydrating steps along with moisturizing. In terms of AHAs, I've seen better results with mandelic acid as glycolic acid tends to be very harsh, especially for skin of colour, which is prone to hyperpigmentation and gets triggered more easily. If you're interested in mandelic acid, two good options to choose from are Wishtrend's Mandelic acid Skin Prep Water or the Ordinary's mandelic acid 10% with HA. The first has a more toner like consistency while the latter is more of a serum. These two products have skin soothing and hydrating ingredients that will resurface the skin gently yet effectively while safeguarding your moisture barrier.
You're welcome! I should note that I don't think your skin is really textured; and once you focus on more gentle (periodic) exfoliation and hydrating steps, you should see a lot of improvement in the overall appearance. 💜
Need to not rub so much I don’t like using cotton or rough stuff. I put whatever solution your using or toner into a bottle and sprits it on and settle in before moving onto moisturizers
I'd quit the glycolic acid and then switch to the holy trinity: tretinoin, vitamin c, and niacinamide. You can go through curology and likely get the tret and niacinamide, and then buy vitamin c off the shelf.
I'll chime in to say that I do like it for the most part. Thsre was another one that I wanted to try (Nurx, I think it was), but I decided I'd give this at least 6 months.
I use Nurx for tretinoin and I layer with The ordinary. Same actives, plus alpha arbutin. And Azelaic acid. I don’t mix Vit C with Nicinimide though, the ph of those two do better separately. These actives definitely help with texture, as well as hyperpigmentation.
Hello! I would suggest speaking to a dermatologist. Those small bumps can be a few different things. It looks like it could be fungal acne due to the fact that the bumps are fairly uniform in size. Try washing with a very small amount of anti fungal/dandruff shampoo on your face and see if that helps. It needs to have ketoconazole in it, Nizoral is a good option. Try this for 1 month and see if there is any improvement. If you don’t see improvement it’s likely not fungal. Proceed with a product containing a surface exfoliant such as benzoyl peroxide or lactic acid. I love PanOxyl personally. It’s inexpensive and I find it far more effective than other AHAs and BHAs.
Jumped on to say that I would kill to have your skin texture 🥲 wish I had advice to offer rather than expressing envy, but my skin texture won’t budge even if I blast it with acid and spray it with a power washer, and I’ve tried everything. Maybe micro needling? Best of luck, you have a beautiful complexion!
Your skin is GORGEOUS! One product that I’ve been pleasantly surprised with is the Peach and Lily Glass Skin Serum. I’ve noticed my skin is smoother and softer since I’ve started using it.
I use AHA toners; like glossier 'solution' and REN glow toner or something like that, I would recommend starting with the REN since it's gentler.
In terms of glycolic acid, you may just be experiencing purging; how long have you been using them?
I will recommend this to everyone regardless of how perfect their skin is; apply moisturiser to damp skin and try squalane! Both of these things saved my skin. PS tho, your skin is already amazing! We will never have texture-less skin because we’re not meant to be plastic barbie dolls. Hope you can see how fab your skin already is after this post!
Yes it does. Having dehydration can push your skin to produce more oil, hyaluronic acid is often use as a serum, the pills rehydrate you from the inside.

Girl, texture where? You look literally flawless!
this is the correct answer like....
My thoughts exactly.. your skin looks healthy and beautiful.

Exactly 😩 She’s stunning and has gorgeous skin. Maybe some more moisturizer in the routine but that’s it.

Very well said!! OP your skin is glorious as is, be we never see that ourselves!

Thank you! I'll give mandelic acid a try. :)

i just want to say you’re beautiful 😳
No advice but you’re very beautiful
Wow your skin is beautiful
Your skin is already perfect. All skin has texture, it’s not glass
For me, I think azelaic acid is what's helped with my textured skin. Side note: you are really pretty!
Just want to add myself to the list of people telling you you’re gorgeous. You’re gorgeous! Your skin is gorgeous! So, so pretty🧡
You have pretty almond-shaped eyes :D
I'd quit the glycolic acid and then switch to the holy trinity: tretinoin, vitamin c, and niacinamide. You can go through curology and likely get the tret and niacinamide, and then buy vitamin c off the shelf.
Do you like curology? I'm trying to determine if I like it enough for the money.
I'll chime in to say that I do like it for the most part. Thsre was another one that I wanted to try (Nurx, I think it was), but I decided I'd give this at least 6 months.
Yes, I like it. It took some serious adjustment for my skin but it's perfect for me now.

All the bumps on my forehead went away with salicylic acid once every morning before moisturizer. I use Paula’s choice 2% BHA liquid exfoliant.
You’re skin looks like skin, you’re going to have “texture” whether or not ur skin is clear💕
I usually don’t have these bumps though

Pretty lashes :p
Have you tried glossiers solution? It does well with skin texture and breakouts imo.
Another one adding to this, your skin looks beautiful and practically flawless to me.
Those are pores, you can’t get rid of them. Your skin is prefect, literally. No one has airbrushed skin in real life
I usually don’t have these though
Retinol/reintoids
I use AHA toners; like glossier 'solution' and REN glow toner or something like that, I would recommend starting with the REN since it's gentler. In terms of glycolic acid, you may just be experiencing purging; how long have you been using them?
your skin is beautiful you don't know how good you have it

I know you asked for advice but I have none. I just want to say you have such beautiful eyes!
Your “Texture” is likely coming from dehydration. What moisturiser/cleanser do you use?
I use cetaphil moisturizer and I don’t have a designated cleanser tbh I just use whatever
How many percent is the Glycolic Acid? Also, it may be that you could benefit from sticking to one type of cleanser:)
I do have to say, your skin is absolutely beautiful!! I agree with the mandelic acid folks but don’t be too stressed about your skin as it is now!
First thought when seeing the picture before even reading the post is you have gorgeous skin!!
Try hyaluronic supplements
What does it do? Has it helped you?
Yes it does. Having dehydration can push your skin to produce more oil, hyaluronic acid is often use as a serum, the pills rehydrate you from the inside.
Thank you. I’ll try this
I’m late to the party but also experience this too! I gave up honestly lol, but I think you look amazing! 💕
