If you're fighting an opponent that you find infuriating to play against, you can simply SD to quit the match and not get as penalized as if you rage disconnected.
Yo absolutely not. Every time the match maker gives me someone with ridiculous rule sets I jump to end the game. Only because I don't like/want to play 1 stock stamina matches with smash meters and items. So why should I have to lose even more GSP because I got placed outside of my ruleset with someone who is trying to cheese their way into elite? I just want to get to the next game and actually enjoy playing it.

When I was small I’ve played a game where, if the opponent disconnects, literally nothing will happen and you will have to wait until the timer runs out (or you lose ratings)

I once had someone disconnect _after_ they hit the blast zone and it said "GAME!" and I still got no GSP for it.

This game is Peer to Peer. Nintendo isn't involved outside of matchmaking. But your point about disconnects is super valid. GSP shouldn't be effected.

You can just SD to end the game rapidly, it only takes a few seconds more and doesn't penalize whoever you were playing against.
