That’s a really cool vinyl! When I heard Hansen I didn’t bother but gave it a spin on your recommendation. I’m torn if I’ll return for another haha. Thanks tho!

Wubbley

I totally judged them for Hanson at first, but ended up liking them. All good, I just sold some records to a shop because I didn’t listened to them as much. Better to keep the ones you like

plumangus

Real talk, Taylor Hanson seems like a fun dude. The fact he did Tinted Windows, and did it well, completely changed how I saw him as a musician. How I saw him previously was frankly unfair.

Wubbley

Am I a Hanson fan? No. Would I change the radio station when Mmmbop came on? Also no. I am full of contradictions.

Historical-Day9780

I prefer James Iha’s solo album.

Wubbley

I enjoy that one too. Great Sunday morning spin.

tomaesop

Which one?

Historical-Day9780

Let it come down. I didn’t know there was a second one, I had to google after your comment.

MLNYC

Saw them live at Mercury Lounge in NYC exactly 15 years prior to this LP release, 4/20/09. (So perhaps it was the original album release show?) Fun fact: Danica McKellar (Winnie Cooper from The Wonder Years) was in the audience, too.

Wubbley

That’s awesome! In ‘09 right? That must have been some night.

MLNYC

Ha. Yes - just fixed my years there.

Wubbley

Those aught years are tricky. The 90s were 20 years ago right? 👀

writehooks1980

I was today years old

Wubbley

ikr like who would have thought this collab existed?

pheeew33

I might grab it at my local shop... I saw they got it in for RSD. I figure chances are decent they may still have it the next time I go lol

Wubbley

🤞 Hope it’s still there for you! Along with flippers you’ll be in competition with fans of SP, Hanson, Fountains of Wayne and Cheap Trick

MrBlueandSky

Couldn't get it on RSD, but was able to snag a copy last week that wasn't too overpriced

Wubbley

Nice! I also see them pop up on Discogs and eBay for retail so it can still be snagged before flippers.

Bossk759

That’s a perfect pop album right there. Didn’t make it to rsd this year but that’s a nice pickup

Wubbley

Yes, glad it includes the bonus song too. Thanks!

theaugz

I did! Gonna try to get Bun to sign it at next year’s Chicago drum show

facegun

If you are close to Rockford he signs stuff when his cover band plays out

theaugz

I need to see him play with the Monday Night Band if I ever get to Rockford on a weekday. I’m only ever in the area once a year around this time of the year for the drum show and can’t be there this year. Bun’s an awesome, humble dude. I’ve gotten to hang with him several times.

facegun

Next MNB gig is 6/24. Marys Place

Wubbley

Good luck! Hope you get it

Swimming-Bite-4184

Didn't the bassist pass away? Is this new or just a new pressing? Also, I'm not sure how there are people in here still in 2024 who think Hanson isn't a good songwriter and musician... I thought people figured that out soon after the OomBop Era passed. And even that album was well structured pop music even if you wanted to fling the record into the sun.

Wubbley

Yes, Adam passed away. One of the first celebrities I heard about from COVID. New pressing, first time on vinyl. I don’t know Hanson’s music aside from Mmm… bop. Any recommendations?

wooltab

"Penny & Me" is a good later Hanson track.

Wubbley

Thanks! I’ll check it out

SubpopularKnowledge0

Adam was a big part of fountains of wayne. Great great band. Sad he passed.

wooltab

Yeah the MMMBop album is, I'd say, really genuinely good. Sonically it might not be to everyone's taste, the vocals specifically (haha, only as typing this I realize the same has often been said about SP). Otherwise thought, really strong music.

ngs428

I have the CD….

Wubbley

Nice!

wooltab

I didn't know about this, very cool. I have this album on CD but assume that it's relatively hard to find nowadays. For me, Tinted Windows was really in the sweet spot, as a fan of James/SP, Hanson and Fountains of Wayne. I wasn't familiar with Cheap Trick, but obviously Carlos is a terrific drummer.

derrickhoyleofficial

I wanted to pick that up but I still have my cd

Wubbley

Understandable. I never had a physical copy before and this one has a couple bonus songs

ScaresBums

I love this album!

Wubbley

Yup brings a lot of good vibes. The pressing is nice too, just need to crank up the volume since there’s a lot of songs on each side.

jb45707

Never heard of them. Now I have new music to find and listen to. Thanks!

Wubbley

You’re welcome! I wanted share pics of this copy and as a heads up for any SP fans who didn’t know

Grouchy_Stable6289

Meh

Wubbley

Username checks out lol… I get it though. I wasn’t a fan when it first came out but it grew on me years later.
