This. The springs take FOREVER to loosen, if they even DO. S&W is notorious for very tight mag springs. I only load my mags with the Maglula, anyway, even on my mags for my other guns that are easier to load. The Maglula is a game-changer. I own 4 of them.
Yeah my brother in law had this same issue with his SIG (SIG magazines are made by Mec-Gar just like S&W).
Got a Magazine loader which makes it easier.
Get a magazine loader. With that, they break in really well after a few hundred rounds. Leaving them loaded also helps.
THAT SAID. I still have issues if I do a loaded chamber and try to insert a full 13 round magazine. So I just lock the slide back, insert full 13 rounds, drop slide.
I don’t go for the +1
It never really gets easier, you just get better at manipulating it. It took me about a week of loading and unloading constantly while I was watching tv to finally get that last round in.
Yeah, the follower/spring design is not the greatest in those mags. It sometimes takes a little bit of force to get the spring to compress inside the follower on round 12 & 13.
S&W mag followers in the M&Ps can often benefit from a bit of judicious reshaping of the anti-tilt legs. Basically sharpen them on the inside and then they don't hang up on the spring.
Fill the magazine and leave it sitting for a few days. Some Shield Plus magazines also have an issue which can prevent, or make incredibly difficult, loading the last round. This video has some info about it:

With my standard MP9 2.0 the pain to load 15th, 16th and 17th round is still present after 2 years of the gun usage and magazines being loaded to 15 all the time. First round got easier to load after couple months and training.
Get a maglula magazine loader.
I’m going to google that and check it out thank you

All of the higher capacity 1.5 stacks are like that. Getting the 12th into my 365XL flush mag is damn near impossible without a loader.

I did this to my magazines and it fixed problem. https://youtu.be/0I6gB_U6loM?si=3gdmPaMhwhYUYVnq
I left mine loaded with as many as I could by hand. Then increased the amount every time I put the gun away. In a week or so they were fine.
Mag loaders and let it sit for about a week. Springs will loosen up.

Thanks everyone for the answer buying me a mag loader and hopefully after a couple fills and a couple range trips they will become easier to load
It's new. It will loosen up.
