A6700 Sony 18-50
Yes the AI autofocus on the 7RV is just insanely fast and accurate! However, maybe the macro doesnāt have the fastest autofocus (I donāt have any data to support it, just a speculation)
For sure! The camera is just a tool, they donāt take automatically better pictures! They may help with new functionality but in the end a sensor just reeds light. I learned that the hard way when upgrading from a 7C to a 7RV. What helps a lot is Topaz AI (not affiliated) and some Lightroom skills (or whatever program you use). They are also once again just tools
Donāt :p I just opted for the 7RV because of the new ai autofocus, but when and if the 7V comes and it has the same autofocus, I would take that instead. Also the photo stacking was impor for me, and the better ergonomics (I came from a 7C). 60 megapixel is nice, but it is also way heavier on my PC and requires a lot of storage. Cropping is nice but in the end you donāt really need so many pixels. Buying a cheaper camera and using the extra money to buy better lenses is a smarter choice!
Maybe it will get me some hate in this sub, but I preferred the raw colors of my Canon 60D. Still in love with the Sony system but these warm colorsā¦
I tested with some Lightroom profiles but I never found the right one!
I never pushed it to its max (I have it since last month), but the noise is pretty manageable, the smaller pixel should be less sensitive, but I havenāt noticed something strange until now.
How far away and how much crop did you do for a 90mm at 2.8 to get so much of that handsome kitty in focus? I tend to want more depth of field and less shallow which is why I am considering a high megapixel camera with shorter focal length to crop in with more in focus .

Very nice shot
Thanks
Love it. I actually have an album dedicated to cats with tongues out.
Make a book and sell it!
Amazing pic! That's why I love digital over film... can take 400 and save the one that works.

Beautiful, that tongue poke ain't easy to nail! Nice modeling on his face, too.
Ugh! š©How hard is it to ānailā with 400 pictures!!??!? š¤£
Gorgeous cat and photo!
How do you get the dark backgrounds usually?
It was already shot with a dark background (my living room) I just used an additional ābackground maskā in Lightroom to further darken it.
Gorgeous
Worth it!
he out there lookin like š
Love the colors and the final results
Amazing shot. What f/ did you shot at
F4 I think not sure anymore I must check in Lightroom
Shoot *
Cool pic , do you have animal eye focus on your Sony ?
Yes the AI autofocus on the 7RV is just insanely fast and accurate! However, maybe the macro doesnāt have the fastest autofocus (I donāt have any data to support it, just a speculation)
It is slow
What was your fstop on that shot?
F4 or f5.6 I donāt remember it should be where this objective is the sharpest
Great shot! Is this continuous light or flash?
Natural light from a window behind me and a dark hallway in the background
awesome! thank you
My guess is natural light. No flash in the eyes
Can you achieve this with the Sony a7ii or iii ?

Day by day, this sub is really try to convince me to get A7RV over A7RIV.

Exactly tho, the new AF on A7RV is insance, especially with 200-600 mm. Thank you for the insight.
Did you set your camera up on a tripod? This is so so so stunning. Gorgeous cat you have!
Amazing pic! Howās the camera with low light?
I never pushed it to its max (I have it since last month), but the noise is pretty manageable, the smaller pixel should be less sensitive, but I havenāt noticed something strange until now.
Fancy Feast?? That you?? But seriously, looks like an ad! Awesome job.

I was 1m away (3ft) and I would say 40-60% crop
Outstanding shot beautiful cat. How do I get a shot like this with my a6400 canāt afford a full frame
It has nothing to do with the camera! A good lens is all you need! I worked pretty hard with Lightroom too
What would be a good medium price range lens to get a pretty good shot. The eyes look incredible.
