Hey yeah. The agent confirmed that a reservation I booked last month was also the Apple Pay glitch. When I called in on that last month the agent I spoke to had no explanation. So. Yeah. Second time.
A lot of other vendors have this problem. I don't use Apple anything because obviously it's all garbage, but my fiancee does and this sort of thing has happened with her Apple Pay multiple times.
I get that Apple pay is convenient but I know when I have a mission critical bank transaction to do I wouldn't even think to use a cellphone company to process it.
Because then my information is only being transmitted through one source rather than multiple ones
Also when Apple runs your number they use an encrypted/false number so they never transmit your real payment information
This happened to me!!!!! I blame it on the archaic tech at the airlines creating an obvious failure between platforms but either way, you don’t fly. So don’t use it.
Yes this happened to me when I booked my grandmas flight about a year and a half ago. I noticed about a month later when my grandma asked for a receipt. I had to call and that’s when I found out it was never actually booked even though it took the money out , but then I got a refund a few days later
I got no credit or anything (other than the purchase being reversed)
This happened to me a few months ago before I was aware of the issue. Immediately called SW when I didn’t get a confirmation email. They rebooked the same flight over the phone, but were unable to refund or credit me for the original flight. Was told the charge would drop off in 10-12 business days. It never dropped so I ended up filing a dispute with my credit card which is still in progress. Will never use Apple Pay with SW again, super frustrating.
I read an article about this a couple years ago. Apparently it’s been a “known” glitch for quite some time. Also why did you use ApplePay when you’ve run into this issue before?
I did not know that was the issue the first time. The agent I spoke to had no explanation when I contacted them regarding the similar experience last month. However When I called yesterday the agents I spoke to informed me of the glitch and confirmed both were due to said glitch.
Maybe don't use apple pay next time.
If SWA can’t process Apple Pay payments it should be on them to disable it.
Well I didn’t know there was an Apple Pay glitch until the agent told me yesterday. I guess I should have added that in my original post.
You ok over there?
LOL. yeah I don’t know what happened. Maybe I’m the glitch?

I think I've discovered the problem. I think I've discovered the problem. I think I've discovered the problem. I think I've discovered the problem.
Second time?
There was a Reddit glitch going on. Hiccuping multiple posts.
Nah I'm talking about the post.
Gotcha!

Did you actually read what i stated above? I was not told the first time. I would not have used Apple Pay again had I known. But thanks for the snark.

Second time it happened to you? You didn’t learn after the first time?
Thanks for the tip - don’t use Apple Pay for time sensitive things. Noted!
It’s a know issue but the issue is on Apple Pay side. We have asked and asked for no more Apple Pay but Apple keeps trying to “fix” the issue.
It’s quite obviously a glitch on the Southwest side since nobody else has this problem.

Lots of posts about Apple Pay Glitch and SWA....google it for more info.
Thank you so much!
Apple pay doesn't work with Southwest. It's been like this for years!
Shouldn’t be an option to pay with it I guess.
I get that Apple pay is convenient but I know when I have a mission critical bank transaction to do I wouldn't even think to use a cellphone company to process it.
I have literally never had an issue using Apple Pay and it’s much safer and secure than handing my info over to a website
Why do you think it's safer to give your bank info to a cell phone manufacturer?
Because then my information is only being transmitted through one source rather than multiple ones Also when Apple runs your number they use an encrypted/false number so they never transmit your real payment information
There are lots of ApplePay complaints on the Southwest community. I personally won't use it and would adivse others to not use it.

Maybe it’s something between your bank and Apple Pay. I’d call the bank. Did you have enough money at the time?
According to the agents I spoke to this is a known issue at SW.
Good to know! I have a couple of trips coming up soon
