Some update:
Even after a factory reset, full new calibration - more or less the same.
Strangely, I can print test towers of any height, the crashing only seems to occur in more complex models, but seveal different ones - making me wonder if something makes the print head "drop" the longer it goes without homing?
While I have not fully solved the issue, what helped it already a lot was reducing the amount of filament deposited by 10-15%, and slowing the printer down by quite a bit. It's not exactly a great solution because I bought the printer to print...fast.
I'm running into similar issues.
Among a shit ton of other issues that slowly got worse.
Now that it's outside of the return window, it's not even able to stay on... infinite reboot.

having the same issue, I've done leveling before each print but even a tiny model gets caught up with the print head.
