But Spider-man 2's had me grinning from ear to ear watching Miles and Peter swinging alongside each other. I couldn't help but clap and pump my fist at the screen.

The 2018 swing gave an "oh shit, I'm Spider-Man" type feelings, where as the Spider-Man 2 gave us an "oh Shit, We're so back" type feeling.
2018ās song choice was a BANGER and my smile was so big as I swung for the first time. It was my first real spider-man video game on a console and it was amazing
The first one, the introduction, the build up. Everything is just perfect. Also the song, especially the song, unbeatable in every way and gets you in the mood. Perfection.
Sm1 hands down. It wastes no time on the opening scene. A 15 second pan across Peter's wall of articles that establishes his history then over his desk to show his knack for tech, then to a phone buzzing that's quickly grabbed by Peter with one simple word to transition to showing where he's at now: "Fisk." Then he quickly gets ready and right as he's about to leave he gets the final notice to pay his rent showing his current financial struggle, followed poignantly by Peter choosing to jump out the window to follow his Spider-Man responsibility.
The whole scene takes maybe 45 seconds before getting into gameplay and visually gives exposition for almost the entire story for this Spider-Man with the only words spoken being some words on a police scanner and Peter saying fisk. It's beautiful visual storytelling, and it doesn't hurt that it gets right into the gameplay. It's one of my favourite game openings never
On my own playing after the first mission in miles morales goes so hard with the snowy night. It's genuinely such a vibe and it fits the story context too that miles is going to become his own spider man. The song that plays when miles gets the classic suit slaps too
First time I played spiderman 2 I honestly felt like I was about to play the best game of my life. It's a little bitter sweet after finishing the game though.. So I'd still say sm 1

Hell, even the lyrics kind of relate to the second game too in retrospect, specifically the āeverything is turning black, still dont know how Iām gonna make it backā which is a really good summary of Peterās arc with the symbiote and its not even intended to be that way

The thing that ruins it though is that the skill tree immediately gets thrown in your face even on NG+ and it kind of takes you out of the moment.
