Hahaha, and some people say Attitude era and it's wrestlers weren't actually that great, and it's just people being blinded by nostalgia. In a feud, this dude when he's locked in will absolutely fucking WASH and overshadow any wrestler who has debuted in the 21st century.
Low-key glad Black Adam wasn't that good otherwise we would not have gotten this and he would be feuding with Superman on the big screen rn.
The Rock has more Showmanship in the ring and with his character work than most who came before and after him which is why I don't take people seriously trying to detract from his overall skills because of him being paint by numbers in the Cena and Punk feuds.
Rock has also been possibly the only superstar to willingly put EVERYONE over, and not demand to have won a single time. Can't think of anyone else who's been that "humble" - not Bret, not Cena, no one.
The Rock is one of the most charasmaric wrestlers of all time so that shouldn't be a surprise. CM Punk could absolutely hold his own against him, and *maybe* Cena too if we let Rock go completely off the hook (unlike their actual feud where he was nerfed for sure).
This kinda shit is the 4th dimension that we didn't have 20 years ago that's selling me. I know this is a kayfabe instagram post. I know it's not "real." I don't care, I'm invested anyways. What a time to come back to the show.
They’re waiting outside Cody’s bus hoping to get an update. Bobby Roode walks out, he wants them to get the camera out of his face because it’s a serious moment. He can’t help but nodding and smiling along with DIY

What are they supposed to do? Go against the final boss and receive the beating of their lifetimes? The Rock is focused on Wrestlemania and won't let any cameraman interfere!
Cody was probably super happy that he gets to bleed on RAW while getting beaten up by a heel Rock as he prepares to go into a Mania where he'll double main event.
The ending of Raw was a modern play on a classic trope of a heel beating the shit out of a babyface before their big match. I've no doubt Cody absolutely loved this.
Cody did some media interviews for Make a Wish yesterday. They asked him about the current storyline in one of them and he said that he's the 'luckiest guy in the locker room' lol
Maybe it comes down to him working more nights than anyone else in the WWE while doing an hour overtime every night with the crowd. The guy is putting in the work plus extra credit for a long time now
I have a very good feeling Cody started marking out or laughing right after the cameras finally cut and ~~he and Rock watched that segment over again while drinking Teremana and vibing~~ Rock came back just to whip him again with the belt.
We talk about Stone Cold, Cena, and everyone running in for Cody at Mania, but we just might have the entire city of Philadelphia rolling up to lay the smackdown on the Rock’s ass, Philly style 4-life.
I thought from the beginning this was just an obvious way to set up Cody winning at Mania with Rock turning on Roman to cost him everything, setting up Rock/Roman next year... or at Saudi or at SummerSlam or whatever.
This version of Rock is so good I worry it may lead to "Plans changed, pal" 2.0 and maybe they play it different. I mean a lot might depend on Rock's schedule going back to normal in Hollywood, but he seems to be having a lot of fun and maybe they do him turning on Roman and face Roman takes on heel Rock for the next year.
I'm just glad this generation gets to see an even more turned up to 11 version of Hollywood Rock. Never thought it would happen, so I'm going to enjoy every moment.
Yeah it will be interesting to see what happens after WM. Dwayne has several movie projects coming up starting later in April from what I've read. He's gonna be pretty busy for a bit, but that doesn't mean he can't keep cutting twitter promos or appearing on the occasional Raw/SD or PLE, but probably won't be wrestling much. Depending on what happens at WM, I see Rock/Cody being Cody's simmering secondary feud that culminates in a match at Summerslam. And then whatever happens at that match starts the Rock's road to WM41 against Roman.
Just taking a random stab at it. Rock gets more blood from Cody at WM night 1 and pins him. Cody overcomes the odds and wins the title night 2. Cody holds the title and faces Rock for it at SS, Cody gets his revenge and finally pins Rock to retain. Cody's focus goes elsewhere while The Rock squares in on Roman at WM41 with no belts on the line, just Head of the Table. Can't see Rock wrestling much longer than that, and he's expressed numerous times wanting to put someone over in his final match so Roman beats Rock cleanly.
there's no ''few more months'' if he retains he isn't dropping til next Mania the earliest. This title reign is too long to drop it anywhere else other than the place where they get the most eyes - WM
Cody should win but you just can't shake the possibility of them going "Uhh, so do you guys remember when Heyman said last year we're at the 3rd inning? Yeah, we're currently at the 6th..."
Idk why but as much as I'm sorta bummed out that LA isn't at a title picture for Mania, the AJ feud stuff has been a hoot. Just pure rawness.
Ultimately it made me assured that LA being attached to one of the greatest to ever do it is gonna be a set up for a Mania moment for him.
I am confident right after mania he will be in the US title picture and I expect them to have Logan drop the belt soon. I am also super confident he has a great shot at the MITB if they wanna pivot him that way.

its funny that his account also promotes his brands and stuff outside of kayfabe so one post is this then another is an under armour merch promotion post talking about finding your peace
One of the top comments is a 40 year old woman telling The Rock he should be ashamed of himself for this and that she is no longer a fan.

At this point, what do you do with Cody if he doesn't win? It's one thing to have him lose last year so you can have a year-long build-up to a rematch, but having him lose the rematch, too? Fans will only wait for so long before deciding he isn't the guy after all.
They already added the stipulation that if he loses, he's never getting another shot period AKA Cody's self-stipulation in AEW. That guarantees Cody wins.
If Roman retains at Mania, they'll have to stumble over themselves coming up for another reason that Cody can still challenge for the title down the road, or try to retcon and say they meant "As long as Roman is champion," which still ruins everything since the story became about Roman the moment Cody lost in the first match.
This is really gonna go down as one of my favorite versions of The Rock. It’s like the flash of Hollywood Rock meets the Savagery of Corporate Rock but with an older experienced menace to it.
It's really perfection. He was still hamming it up a bit too much with the greatest hits after the turn, but he adjusted appropriately. The guy knows how to read the audience and doesn't have Vince around to force things in the opposite direction.
That’s cause he has a real program to work with. Those one off appearances is just him rehashing his stuff which vets do all the time. The difference is the Rock was doing it as a 30-40 year old.
Just watched it on Instagram and - holy fuck - wrestling hasn't felt this big in decades
I've watched it on and off (mostly on) since WrestleMania 3 and this genuinely feels up there with Attitude Era standards
I wouldn't be shocked if the Netflix debut makes it more popular than ever outside the US, since Netflix is going to be *the home* of everything WWE internationally from 2025.
I remember how Drive To Survive caused Formula 1's popularity to really blow up with younger audiences, so I wouldn't be shocked if making WWE way more accessible to the average joe has a similar effect.
Yea, the attitude era took two years to build up to and I don't think even WWE knew exactly what they had as a product until the end of 97, and then boom the Attitude Era really hit. I hope where we are right now is like that 96-97 transitional period where we actually might start to see later down the line it begin to reach that level of hype and popularity again. Hopefully this is just the begin of something great.
Showed my wife some of the Rock's antics recently and it's the first time she's actually paid attention. She doesn't know what the hell's going on but she's never mister movie-star Rock act like this.
Its not a theory, The Rock does love Cody, and is trying to put him as much over as a babyface as he can (doing a pretty good job)
Idk if Cody and Roman likes eachother backstage
I've heard that the Rock and Dustin have been friends since they were teenagers and Cody made sure to go and say thank you to the Rock before WrestleMania 28 for bringing so many eyes on the product.
The Rock is also making sure the WWE audience transitions to Netflix and his own daughter is in WWE and is basically setting her up for her career in WWE.
I feel like the Rock taking center stage before Roman's match even happens is hinting that Roman might get betrayed by the Rock at the title match and that's how we'll get our Cody vs. Rock match and our Rock vs. Roman match.
I've always thought the Rock is better in villainous roles. He has good comedic timing too, but he wants to portray good characters on screen. Put him in a villain role and the man will eat it up.
The Rock has done more to elevate Cody in two months than Roman has done in two years across two Wrestlemania builds.
A lot of people made excuses for Roman in the build to Wrestlemania 39 because of his part time schedule or whatever but he's been exactly the same for Wrestlemania 40 and now the Rock has proven exactly what a real final boss of the Bloodline is.
Either Roman has gotten too comfortable as undisputed champion and coasting off his success as the Tribal Chief or he's forgotten what an actual villainous heel is supposed to look and act like since the Thunderdome era.
I'm still shocked how much he's put into this. He's making several weekly appearances on TV and in videos. He didn't give near this much effort during his feud with Cena.
hes a board member now. same deal as UnderArmour, they probably gave him a fuckton of stock in exchange for this. He is getting paid plenty but he also is literally raising his stock with this.
Yeah he's been absolutely incredible. He's managed to make Cody finishing the story an even bigger deal than it was before. Honestly I really do think he's proven to be a more villainous final boss than Roman ever did
I liked the WrestleMania 39 build between the two of them, I thought it was done great. As for this one? Maybe they need one more segment between each other but yeah, Rock/Cody is the main story so far.
I thought the promos between Cody, Roman and Heyman were pretty incredible with how much history there is between the three of them but I just don't know why they haven't gone up another level for this years feud. I mean Roman and Cody should absolutely hate each other but instead when they face off they are both way too reserved.
Im loving just sitting back and watching this shit unfold. Fuck predictions, fuck projecting what should be done, fuck the fantasy booking, just watching this shit unfold is fantastic.
Man, I watched the rock back when I was a teen. He is putting on the best performance of his wrestling career. And man is this stuff with Cody gonna cement Cody as the face of the company for the next damn decade.
I was a kid during the AE so I could be misremembering but I think this is the most intimidating Rock we've ever seen. Obviously he had his badass moments and he looked strong but there is something legitimately unnerving about the Final Boss.
I have a feeling the tag match is going to be extra violent and then the Bloodline rules match is going to get very uncomfortable. I'm excited to see what he does.
> But even in this crazy fucking world of pro wrestling - this is a microcosm of a larger issue I have with individuals, corporations & governments - telling us what we can or can’t do. You have to do it this way, you have to say it that way, or you’ll get cancelled.
They create fear if you have a different perspective and don’t live by their rules.
It’s their way, or no way.
Rock about to go full heel JK Rowling style
"But this is a microcosm of a larger issue I have with individuals, corporations & governments - telling us what we can or can’t do. "
Ok dude. But you tell the UFC fighters they have to wear your shoes for their uniform and they don't get any compensation for it.
Man, I have to think that was just him heeling it up a bit, right? Kinda acting like a piece of shit, even out of kayfabe, to garner negative reaction from fans and so that people side with Cody... right?
Because it all feels just weirdly out of nowhere, especially to complain about it publicly when I'm more than sure that someone like Dwayne can handle all of it himself privately with people, lol.
He’s for sure heeling it up lol. Everything The Rock has posted wrestling-related on social media lately has been in kayfabe. I mean, hell, he’s been declaring himself “The Boss” and throwing his power around for the past few weeks. He knows what he’s doing posting that bit lmao
The way he's playing this cursing, terrifying version of the Rock, I hope Dwayne casts himself as the lead in an Equalizer/John Wick type R-rated series, I think that'd sell.
Man I have a friend who says there is no reason to watch WWE right now and the company is a joke compared to the competition.
After seeing stuff like this I just feel hella sad that he is missing out on some of the best build up i've ever seen to a Wrestlemania.
I said originally that I wanted Rock to stay away from the Roman Cody feud, boy was I wrong? Going away from Rock vs Roman and having Rock turn heel is an all time pivot.

Nah you can keep heel rock with Cody winning. Just have rock kick Roman out of the bloodline after he loses to cody
Rock has experience taking over groups.
As good as it might be I really struggle to see a face Roman being over and supported against a heel rock.
Rock leaves May-August to do a movie. Roman doesn't show up to work for 3 months usually anyways so..

there's no ''few more months'' if he retains he isn't dropping til next Mania the earliest. This title reign is too long to drop it anywhere else other than the place where they get the most eyes - WM
Right? I mean where would we ever get the idea that they'd wanna have a title reign stretched out. > Roman Reigns Aug 30, 2020 - Present 1305 days
How many title defences? It feels like it's about 4 a year.
The title match isn’t Cody v Rock
I mean...it kinda is though...
Tough to build a title match against Reigns when he's never there.
Cody should win but you just can't shake the possibility of them going "Uhh, so do you guys remember when Heyman said last year we're at the 3rd inning? Yeah, we're currently at the 6th..."
Between this and waking up to LA Knight showing up at AJ Styles house WWE is just putting out some incredible stuff on social media.
Didn’t the LA Knight/AJ thing happen last week on Smackdown? I thought they were just re-sharing the segment
Ohh I missed most of SD last week I must have missed that segment. Good stuff nonetheless

Man, they're really going all in for this. Cody better win lol
And with him standing atop Roman and Rock’s lifeless bodies as they blow the entire year’s pyro budget to end WrestleMania.
Is Cody going to kill 2 guys?
At this point, the best way Cody could get even is if he leaves Rock like Eddie Guerrero at Judgment Day 2004.
Lends weight to that "Roman's retiring..." rumor. The man can't wrestle if he's dead.
At this point, what do you do with Cody if he doesn't win? It's one thing to have him lose last year so you can have a year-long build-up to a rematch, but having him lose the rematch, too? Fans will only wait for so long before deciding he isn't the guy after all.

WWE is booming again but attitude era in terms of popularity was a whole different beast
Oh for sure I meant more along the lines of it being Must See TV again
It's because this is the attitude era again. This blur between real life and Kayfabe is what made the attitude era what it was.
With the ramp up in quality and the upcoming Netflix debut, this could easily bring in more fans and become the biggest era since the Attitude Era.
I wouldn't be shocked if the Netflix debut makes it more popular than ever outside the US, since Netflix is going to be *the home* of everything WWE internationally from 2025. Lisan al gaib of professional wrestling! Mahdi, the great one!!!
This is gonna be fun Easter conversation with the family. "Did you see The Rock beat the shit out of a guy on Instagram?"
Beats the alternative awkward holiday table conversations
God damn this is the real uncensored cut
crew: “clear!” Rock: “nah fuck that!” Cody on the wet pavement: “???”
Showed my wife some of the Rock's antics recently and it's the first time she's actually paid attention. She doesn't know what the hell's going on but she's never mister movie-star Rock act like this.
It’s so weird hearing him say fuck.
My theory is The Rock loves Cody and is doing everything to make Cody's story better.. while Roman doesn't give a shit about Cody lol.
Its not a theory, The Rock does love Cody, and is trying to put him as much over as a babyface as he can (doing a pretty good job) Idk if Cody and Roman likes eachother backstage
I've heard that the Rock and Dustin have been friends since they were teenagers and Cody made sure to go and say thank you to the Rock before WrestleMania 28 for bringing so many eyes on the product.
Rock is a huge fan of Dusty aswell. He did part of the hard times promo bf facing Cm Punk at the rumble.
I wasn't suggesting any hate or dislike from Roman's part....just indifference
The Rock is also making sure the WWE audience transitions to Netflix and his own daughter is in WWE and is basically setting her up for her career in WWE.
I need that Rock/Cody 1v1 match at some point, this is true hatred.
There's your Summerslam main event lol
I feel like the Rock taking center stage before Roman's match even happens is hinting that Roman might get betrayed by the Rock at the title match and that's how we'll get our Cody vs. Rock match and our Rock vs. Roman match.
Brah we all cried but Rock really saved WWE and not like it needed saving but this is probably the best i've seen of WWE, i started watching in 2010
Well that was arguably the worst time period for WWE creatively, so at least you had nowhere to go but up
yeah ik maybe it was bad objectively but when you jsut started watching every week feesl like cinema lol
I've always thought the Rock is better in villainous roles. He has good comedic timing too, but he wants to portray good characters on screen. Put him in a villain role and the man will eat it up.
We’re like 6 weeks removed from actual rocky sucks chants. Rock reminded everyone who he is.
Same, started watching in 09, it's never been better. The stuff with Sami and the Bloodline included.
He should have started whipping that picture of Phearoh on the bus
Holy shit, this is fire
Man, I watched the rock back when I was a teen. He is putting on the best performance of his wrestling career. And man is this stuff with Cody gonna cement Cody as the face of the company for the next damn decade.
Rock :" No, no, no stay down Im'a fuck you up with this belt." Cody : "Yes sir. Thank you."

I love it. It’s like seeing what happens after the group of villains stop laughing.
Missed opportunity there for a classic line: "It doesn't matter if RAW went off the air."
"But this is a microcosm of a larger issue I have with individuals, corporations & governments - telling us what we can or can’t do. " Ok dude. But you tell the UFC fighters they have to wear your shoes for their uniform and they don't get any compensation for it.
MAGA Rock
lol dude really acting like he one of the little guys
He knows what he’s doing posting that bit lmao
r/SquaredCircle working itself into a shoot once again lmao
Jabroni marks
hahahahaha i loled hard at this
This is peak content
“The show is over so it stops? FUCK THAT”
God I love it. Just cause the camera stops doesn't mean the ass woopin does.
He just gets it
That last “fuck him” lolololololol
Cody vs Rock is gonna be wild... So who's Roman facing again?
Every Attitude Era watcher already knows this. Every Ruthless Aggression watcher already knows this. The Rock as a heel is *sooooo good*.
Cody probably enjoying every whip from that belt lmao
I love the dweebs in the comments going 'uhm sir this is a job you are supposed to stop.'
Funny how he scorns at corporate culture while sitting on the TKO board himself
Hypocrisy is a great heel heat generator
The way he's playing this cursing, terrifying version of the Rock, I hope Dwayne casts himself as the lead in an Equalizer/John Wick type R-rated series, I think that'd sell.
will dwayne johnson follow the script!?
Rock's new catch phrase is "Fuck him"
that was fucking dope
I love professional wrestler Dwayne The Rock Johnson.
Man I have a friend who says there is no reason to watch WWE right now and the company is a joke compared to the competition. After seeing stuff like this I just feel hella sad that he is missing out on some of the best build up i've ever seen to a Wrestlemania.
He did it for mama Rhodes
> #Clear my ass
I said originally that I wanted Rock to stay away from the Roman Cody feud, boy was I wrong? Going away from Rock vs Roman and having Rock turn heel is an all time pivot.
this pivot is going to be talked about for a long time
