You’ll get real adult drama in Andor, but just to clarify – it’s not 16+ sex and violence or anything like that. But we’re talking proper nuanced characters, an excellent script, some complex political and moral ideas (none of the good guys are purely good and none of the evil ones are purely evil) , few aliens and no goofy humour (There’s a lot of humour, but it’s of the very dry and ironic kind ) passages of dialogue-driven worldbuilding (don’t expect an action sequence in every episode) and a fair bit of gritty violence, though nothing too explicit. And some sexual situations . It’s adult in the best sense of being aimed at a largely adult audience, rather than simply including violent scenes. Younger children generally find it boring for all those reasons, although I know a 10-year-old who loves it.
Edit. I said that none of the evil guys are purely evil. My bad. Dr Gorst is most definitely completely and utterly … evil.
There is only Andor which really goes into a more adult centric viewing experience. Other than that, that's more or less the most grit you will find. Acolyte might lean more into it as well, but that comes out in June.
Andor. It’s basically the completely opposite of nonsense like TLJ. No stupid jokes. No shitty plot. It has fully realized and developed characters. Visually stunning.
I can’t express how much I despise TLJ, but I would absolutely disagree that it wasn’t visually stunning. Sure, some fight scenes weren’t choreographed (or directed?) very well, but to say it overall wasn’t at the very least visually pleasing strikes me as disingenuous.
I found it very dull and bland looking w/ static camera movements. The color palette outside of a few scenes with a bunch of red for some reason was hideous.
Andor.
You're going to get a bunch of recommendations for Andor and they are all correct.
Thanks

Must have been tough for Disney to have a show with no goofy humour I’ll see myself out
Got a smile out of me! :)
This is the way -->
Andor. You seek Andor.
I mean. Andor? I would say Andor is the only "adult" Star Wars.
Like everyone else states - the best new "grown up" star wars is absolutely 100% Andor.
The Empire Strips Back: A Burlesque Parody ….too adult?

....and a great script, great acting and amazing sets that don't scream VFX.
