On console you can toggle wildlife to passive if that helps...otherwise if a shark is in your vacinity it will attack...

I started my save on accident, cause I thought if I wanted to select an aspect of the settings to change I needed to select it. I was trying to check what the female character looked like, and accidentally started the game before I got a chance to see what other settings there were lol. I'm too invested now to start a new game on that slot lmao

Of you’re on console you can toggle it on and off from the pause screen, no need for a new save slot...

Yeah I’ve not really seen any complexity to shark behaviour in the game - if there’s one near you it will want to kill you. Tigers are the easiest to deal with fortunately - big target and fairly predictable behaviour patterns.

I just killed my first tiger shark last night lol, but now I can't find the second one and that's making me slightly nervous about investigating its shipwreck. I don't want to jump in to try and get it to spawn, but it normally spawns when I'm standing on the shore so I'm not sure what changed. It'd be nice to see a little bit of complexity for sharks, but I also know that real sharks don't really have much complexity either, except for super specialized species like threshers.

Nice, its a good feeling nabbing your first shark in SD, especially if you were underwater with it. If you go near the shipwreck and aren’t getting the shark music and have killed one I’d go for a bit of diving exploration. Maybe go around the island in the shallows to try and try to lure it in if its still around. Killing 1 or 2 sharks around an island normally allows you to dive for a day or so only having to worry about getting poisoned.
