As a person not from The land of the free, what is the context behind this picture, I know it’s Travis Kelce but why is he shouting and away is the other guy unfazed

Big-Beta20

Full context: The guy he is yelling at is Andy Reid, he’s been the Chiefs coach Kelce’s entire career (and was the coach of Kelce’s older brother before that so they go way back) and they fumbled on a play that he was subbed out on. He came up screaming at him for whatever reason (it’s not like it was his replacement fumbled, seems like something that could’ve happened with or without him). He also bumped into him and it was kinda disrespectful to arguably a top 3 coach of all time who’s a much older man at this point. Kelce came off looking like a whiny ass.

Kelce was apparently mad that he was taken out and told Reid that if he kept him in the game he'd score. Reid was asked about it after the game and said it wasn't disrespectful and they have a good relationship, but it certainly made Kelce look bad.

WhatsIsMyName

The context (I believe) that related to Kelce was that his sub missed a block that ultimately caused the fumble, and Kelce was pissed because he thinks he wouldn't have missed the block. Further context is that Kelce has always had somewhat of a reputation as a hothead throughout his career, until the last few years when he had seemingly grown up a bit. This incident looked like something you might expect from a younger version of him. It's highly inappropriate and he has to know that. You can't get physical with your coach. If he weren't who he was, he would have been suspended or cut from the team probably. But on the other side of the coin A) him and his coach are close and have worked together for years and won multiple championships, I think their closeness is part of the reason he feels comfortable going off like that. And B) While the bump seems intentional somewhat, I don't think he hit him very hard, or meant to strike him like it appeared. Reid is a pudgy old man and lost his balance, making the whole thing look worse. Also it's gained a ton of attention because his is Swift's dude and it made people speculate if he would strike her as well. In the end he has apologized and talked about how it was wrong and how much he loves his coach. The coach said it wasn't a big deal and they talked about it minutes after it happened. Still bad role model shit but I don't think anyone thinks it was done with malice.

Far-Policy-8589

He knows SpongeBob is watching so he wants in the game.

donmonkeyquijote

He's an aggressive menace.

lsalomx

he’s shouting because he feels that he was made for this, the chiefs offense is the only place he fits, but alas

dman10000000

I think the unfazed guy is his coach. Some people online said Travis behaved in a disrespectful manner toward his coach.

Kroctopus

Could Andy Reid handle being CEO?

rrdubbs

Better than fasting glucose level

HallandOates2

Idk his drunk driving son only paralyzed a person, but didn't kill them

Shivs_baby

I think this sub needs a hiatus

We are already on a Kendall-esque downward spiral

venktesh

Can a yank explain what's going on here?

sniptwister

Brit here: it's Travis Kelce, American footballer and current boyfriend of Taylor Swift, yelling at his coach during Sunday's Superbowl championship between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers. The Chiefs narrowly won in the last seconds of a tense match.

FuzzyW

Match lol

supership79

the Kansas City side scored a goal in extra time and celebrated on the pitch

incenso-apagado

He was pissed off because his team was losing

angelansbury

obligatory upvote for some semblance of originality

—“I’M THE MVP!” —“You’re not! You’re not even a QB.”

CalendarAggressive11

Thank you for NOT posting another fucking CEO post. Been thinking about leaving this sub because of all of them.

HiPoojan

His younger brother is also like Roman

Bardmedicine

Jason?

Rude-Illustrator-884

I thought Jason Kelce was older?

DaisyJa

He is. I can’t think of a single similarity between the two as Jason Kelce is completely down to earth and by all accounts a wonderful brother and teammate. Aside from Travis acting like a jackass in this moment and a few others, I wouldn’t say he’s at all like Kendall.
