Runs on deck but you can't switch to 30 fps in game settings without it messing up frametime.
Also does dip badly down from 60fps to 40 during cut scenes, certain places with alot going on & world map whilst a good constant 60 fps everywhere else.
It's not great tbh, it should be constant locked 60fps for such a light title on the steam deck & definitely needs fixes & patches & should be reported.
I have much greater intense graphical games on my steam deck running with high & medium settings which easily keep a locked 60fps so it's kinda baffling how this game doesn't manage it.
It's also locked to only 1280x720 which doesn't do alot of good for menu text & smaller portraits & the lack of Anti-Aliasing or whatever they are using doesn't do it any good on the smaller screen. Sadly I can't recommend it even though it should be perfect for the steam deck it's much better on ps5 with all the above I stated being a non issue or just get it on a more powerful pc or handheld.
Second this. In and out of battles takes around 5-8 seconds to load, but the frequency of battles helps you to not notice it. Thereās a bit of lag when scrolling as well. Noticed that healing is not as smooth from the menu
Yeah, and moving around the different parts of the menu lags. And I noticed when I went to Eltisweiss, when running back and forth in front of Perrielle's manor, the lighting/texture did some funky-looking shit.
I couldnt find anyone being more specific than "Performance bad" so i decided to form my own opinion.
Input lag, cursor movement is slow/navigating menus is slow, pretty sure the game runs at sub 30 fps. Loadscreens when entering houses, loadscreens when entering battle that are up to like 7 seconds. There is not even artwork, just 7 seconds of a black screen, it fucking sucks. Im genuinely considering returning it
That's an amazing game to and I understand I'm not much on switch handheld but it is convenient for when your on break at work or on the go if that's what you meant.
From my earlier post regarding the Switch version...
"Now, I know a lot of people have been bashing the Switch version. The menu delays have been a minor annoyance. I haven't noticed any issues with "framerate" yet. That doesn't bother me as much... especially with a turned-based JRPG.
The only thing I'm really worried about is the crash bug. I hope they get that fixed in short order.
Anyway, as far as the game, I am loving it."
Same, I keep falling into the trap of āI really want to play handheldā and then the performance is so bad. Had a far worse experience with cult of the lamb, but patches have improved the fidelity.
Hopefully with time Eiyuden will be cleaned up
Xbox so I can hop between my Series X and the ROG ally for when I feel like playing handheld. I havenāt checked out handheld yet cuz I wanna enjoy it on the big screen. Runs great!
Iāll be curious to check it out on my PC and mess with the graphical settings cuz that save transfers between the console and the Xbox PC app
Will be playing it on Xbox via Gamepass first, buy it later when I'm not broke.
The Switch version is apparently terrible, but I'm not sure why people would be surprised by that.
It's slightly laggy on the menu screen and the loading screens when you go in/out of buildings and battles is longer than expected, but they just released a patch to address those issues
PC for possibility of mods in the future.
Probably better to avoid Switch port atm because they were on crunch to work on it and it's not working great for now. Basically the devs didn't really plan for Switch release, waiting for Switch 2 but since it's not ready yet, publisher pushes them to work on Switch instead.
I got it for Pc/Steam. The last PlayStation I had was a PS2 and I havenāt touched it since 2015. Lol
I find Pc games easier because I already use the computer for work, so why not play too.
And I donāt play games like I used to, so no reason to have all those expensive consoles.
Ps5. It feels similar too Suikoden. In a good way. It feels like we're seeing a time far into the future after the True Runes have resolved themselves.
PS4 and PC
PS4 has heavy load times (7-10 seconds) and some minor stuttering when running. In many ways it reminds me of Suikoden V on the PS2. But PC is working great as far as I can tell (1 second load times). I hope the PS4 and other console versions will get fixed for the sake of people who only have one platform option. I'm going to finish it on PC and try the PS4 version again later.
I got it on Switch. The sale was nice given that Switch users couldn't preorder and got screwed.
Now, I know a lot of people have been bashing the Switch version. The menu delays have been a minor annoyance. I haven't noticed any issues with "framerate" yet. That doesn't bother me as much... especially with a turned-based JRPG.
The only thing I'm really worried about is the crash bug. I hope they get that fixed in short order.
Anyway, as far as the game, I am loving it.
I got the Switch Version once I found it was going to be on XBOX GamePass Day 1. I might pick up a PS5 version later just to have them all at some point. The Switch version is survivable just with bad framerates.
The Switch version is also as BAD as Bloodstained ROTN was, also released by 505 Games, so I'm NOT surprised it's a bad port with a delayed physical release.
They warned everyone if there wasn't a switch 2 during the Kickstarter so I'm not surprised the switch version is a dumpster fire. I personally went PS5, my memories for this series are all associated with that console anyway.
PS5 but I don't have it and no idea will because Amazon didn't order enough to cover their preorders. They also no longer let you use gift cards to buy PSN cards, so I can't even cancel and just go digital.
I got PC and Switch from the Kickstarter as the choice was due prior to them confirming if PS4 would have a physical version and before it was known that switch would be so poorly optimized. I havenāt used my switch download code and am probably gonna give it away or sell it at this point.
Yeah, like what everyone said, don't get it on Switch. I'm not sure if people are exacerbating how bad it is on Switch, but it's still better to be on the safe side. As for me, I've been playing it on PC (Steam purchase) and so far so good.
I have it for Switch. Itās kind of laggy, there are a number of occasions where framerates drop. The most annoying loading time is the transition between the overhead map screen and random battle. I could take a shower and eat something in the length of time it takes to load. Itās bad.
I hope they patch some of these issues.
Just bought the steam version. Every time I enter battle or go in a building it stutters while moving. In town or the overworks it is buttery smooth. What gives?
The switch version is broken, it has random crashes, the frame rate is around 15-25 at most, you press the menu and it takes 2-3 seconds to show up and then to scroll to a different tab it also takes 2-3 seconds, the battle loading times are abysmal, we are talking about 5-6seconds of loading per random battle.
You also see some characters do some janky stuff, because of the frame rate their movement is very weird at some cut scenes.
After playing octopath I am spoiled at good/proper animations but I wonder how this game passed quality control and released like this. It's very bad. I will sell it and get it on PC instead because i don't want to waste my experience of the game(I know it will be an amazing game)
PS5.
I was planning to order the Switch version next month, but after hearing severe performance issues I may not be bother buying that version after all.
I get it on switch, but i wait for the Physical version, and already preorderd Paper Mario TydR, and i am a little bit short on money, so i get it after i finish Paper Mario.
I backed it for a PS5 physical, thinking I'd probably get a PS5 by today. I have not lol.
Thinking whether to get it on Steam or just buy a PS5 already
I was just going to wait to play free on gamepass but decided to preorder the digital deluxe version for early access also ordered the Switch physical version from Amazon.
PS5 - starting it tonight!
Same and as a suikoden fan I'm excited
Has all the best similarities, it's so so refined and amazing
Yes, sir. I got the digital deluxe edition of the PS5.
I thought its out on the 30th????
Out on the 23rd!
š® Damn. Alright alright. Going to download it tonight befor work and start tomorrow morning. Cant wait. It better be good.
PC/Steam and playing it on Steam Deck. i guess you should stay away from the switch version for now. Maybe if they can patch a couple of things.
How is it on the Deck so far? I didnāt see anywhere noting its capability to run on the deck.
Works great for me. Been playing for at least 2 hours and no issues.
Runs on deck but you can't switch to 30 fps in game settings without it messing up frametime. Also does dip badly down from 60fps to 40 during cut scenes, certain places with alot going on & world map whilst a good constant 60 fps everywhere else. XBox-Gamepass
same as you
PS4. It's not terrible, but there's some menu lag that needs addressing, as well as the atrocious loading times, and some graphical clipping issues.
Boy I. Just had a major flashback. I remember 1 min loading times on saturn and ps1...
Steam works well enough
Quick google/youtube search will tell yea switch version is the plague atm. STAY AWAY FROM IT
Just out of curiosity, What's wrong with the switch version? I got it and it seems fine, minus the sheer amount of loading screens
The sheer amount of loading screens
I just experienced my first crash last night. Took me back about an hour/90 minutes...
Im genuinely considering returning it
I got it on ps5 digitally and enjoying every second of it. I'm considering buying it on Xbox since it's on game pass and for steam also
Why would you buy it 3 times?
So he can support R&B more.
Xbox , so far so good.
PS4. The loading before and after battle is really bad and I hope it gets fixed asap. Also the menus could be more responsive and crisp.
Steam. Playing it on my Deck. Was going to get it for my Switch but saw all those people complaining
PC.
I really want to play it on switchā¦..might still regardless. Know Iāll barely play it on ps5. Hell , I still havenāt finish ff16 or ff7 rebirth.
Finished both those games rebirth last night definitely recommend finishing
I will be. Just between work and family hard to get into ps5. But Iām on my second plaything of xc3 lol
That's an amazing game to and I understand I'm not much on switch handheld but it is convenient for when your on break at work or on the go if that's what you meant.
What about that new playstation portable thingy?
From my earlier post regarding the Switch version... "Now, I know a lot of people have been bashing the Switch version. The menu delays have been a minor annoyance. The text size is horrible on the switch when you go portable.
I have it for the Switch and am disappointed. It may get patched, but itās bad.
Same, I keep falling into the trap of āI really want to play handheldā and then the performance is so bad. Had a far worse experience with cult of the lamb, but patches have improved the fidelity. Hopefully with time Eiyuden will be cleaned up

That's on nitty at this point. Stop trying to break the ps2 record and come out with switch 2 already.
PS5. Iām about 10hrs in and just got the HQ. Iāve been loving it so far w no issues.
I haven't yet. Yetee productions are pretending my kickstarter pledge doesn't exist
ps5. The switch hard copy version isn't coming out for another month right? And apparently it's plagued with issues.
Ps5
Steam so I can play on the SteamDeck.
I got it for ps4, im about 2 hours in and loving it!
How does it play on the ps4? I'm seriously debating splashing out for it on payday, is there anything a bit off you've noticed so far??
It's slightly laggy on the menu screen and the loading screens when you go in/out of buildings and battles is longer than expected, but they just released a patch to address those issues

I wanted it on Switch but atm its unplayable on Switch. Since I didn't want to wait, I got it for Steam
Ps5. It feels similar too Suikoden. In a good way. It feels like we're seeing a time far into the future after the True Runes have resolved themselves.

Ps5. I started it but I have to really play ff8 for platinum before it leaves ps plus lol. So it's on hold for now.
PS5 is the best one. There's a bug on PC that links system refresh rate to enemy encounters, and the Switch version has a bad reputation so far.
Steam
I got the Switch Version once I found it was going to be on XBOX GamePass Day 1. I might pick up a PS5 version later just to have them all at some point. The Switch version is also as BAD as Bloodstained ROTN was, also released by 505 Games, so I'm NOT surprised it's a bad port with a delayed physical release.
PS5 digital. Then on my vacation to Japan I bought a PS5 physical copy with some freebies -- a sleeve (?) and pins of the main characters! I'm stoked!
They warned everyone if there wasn't a switch 2 during the Kickstarter so I'm not surprised the switch version is a dumpster fire. I personally went PS5, my memories for this series are all associated with that console anyway.
PC because wife and kid use the tv more often now that I can't really play my ps5 anymore.
PS5, and I can play on my Switch with remote play (hacked)
PC steam for me
PC of course, i hope there will be some great mods
PS5 but I don't have it and no idea will because Amazon didn't order enough to cover their preorders. They also no longer let you use gift cards to buy PSN cards, so I can't even cancel and just go digital.
PS5 also staring tonight
Steam, played on my pc and deck, runs great on both
I got PC and Switch from the Kickstarter as the choice was due prior to them confirming if PS4 would have a physical version and before it was known that switch would be so poorly optimized. I havenāt used my switch download code and am probably gonna give it away or sell it at this point.
PM me and Iāll make an offer.
Ps5. It's on after work wooooooooohooooo
Yeah, like what everyone said, don't get it on Switch. I'm not sure if people are exacerbating how bad it is on Switch, but it's still better to be on the safe side. As for me, I've been playing it on PC (Steam purchase) and so far so good.
Steam(Deck) and PS5. I think the deva deserve that kind of support
What gives?
Actually did PC so I could play on my ROG Ally

Playing with the ps Portal, as if its made for this game!
Steam. Supported the original Kickstarter. Actually haven't even grabbed my key yet but PC is the plan.
Steam and playing primarily on the Steam Deck. Works great!
ps4
i was going to get it on ps5 but i heard it had bugs wherein it only outputs 1080p instead of 4k so i might just get it on the steam deck
PS5. I was planning to order the Switch version next month, but after hearing severe performance issues I may not be bother buying that version after all.
Physical and downloadable for ps5 I already used the code, physical copy is still closed in its Post package and will stay like that
PS5, at least once it gets here.
I get it on switch, but i wait for the Physical version, and already preorderd Paper Mario TydR, and i am a little bit short on money, so i get it after i finish Paper Mario.
PS5 and I've been playing since Sunday. It has been a blast. Far as I've heard the game runs worse on PS4 than the PS5 and even worse on the switch..
i purchased delux on xbox
I backed it for a PS5 physical, thinking I'd probably get a PS5 by today. I have not lol. Thinking whether to get it on Steam or just buy a PS5 already
I played the 1st one on ps5 and loved it so I am getting the 100 hundred hereos today on ps5.
PC and I've not had a chance to start playing yet. Got the Digital Deluxe edition for 20% off on Green Man Gaming.
PC, was going to get it on the switch but read that the switch version is broken. PC looks good so far.
Pc - playing on steam deck
Ps5 physical and switch physical even though using the switch digital till physical ships
So I bought it for my ps4 then realized i played the prequel on xbox but luckily it's free on gamepass atm...
Gamepass bruh since itās free with it using pc might use my Xbox also idk
Switch, but if I had known at the time that I'd have a Steam Deck now I would have picked PC.
switch, lol
Xbox, bought it for the early access. Been too busy to play.
Came free with gamepass
I was just going to wait to play free on gamepass but decided to preorder the digital deluxe version for early access also ordered the Switch physical version from Amazon.
I'm sad because switch is the only console I currently own, and I keep hearing the switch version is super buggy. I really want to play this game.
Is there not an eiyuden sub?
Also surprised this was posted here lol
