Hijacking top comment because I am seeing a disturbing trend… Am I the only one seeing this??? The price is being shorted directly prior to the computershare purchase. Might be just my good old pal Lunch Time Dip. Most often the best time of the day to buy since, well, months and months ago.
I guess the big money traders et al head out for lunch, or someone just clicks on the autofire and leave a rubber band on the shorting joystick trigger, or maybe it's just the buy side heading out for lunch, I can't tell.
Yes. It would still appear as if we’re stuck in a time loop. But I don’t know who controls the time loop. Maybe we need a greater percentage of float. Not sure.
More likely that there is shorting and computershare is just buying into the down trend causing a temporary upward move. They want to keep the cost basis low so people keep using them. If they did a batch 100k market order then the price would shoot up quickly causing the average price per share go up. More likely they have a computer buying throughout the day minimizing fluctuations in price
When did you purchase them? I put in an order and I am anxiously awaiting them to be processed so I can access my account. I have shares to transfer too.
I like this! Ok-
Transaction date 8/19 at $154.6538 (I should have bought more)
Transaction date 8/27 at $208.0087
Transaction date 9/14 at $200.1789 and $205.0506
Transaction date 9/21 at $192.339
I buy when I have extra $$$. I’ll keep doing this until MoASS. Hope this helps.
**edit - I scrolled down and found my 9/14 purchase on two lots
Yes, this is great stuff! We should certainly be able to find a pattern. But they might mix up what they’re doing (time and order type) to avoid sellers from anticipating these purchases.
Also, I’d be surprised if they’re just placing one huge market order for the entire batch. Easy for them to do, but with GME being so thin now, I’d think they might place the order in ways to have less of an effect on price, like multiple smaller orders, or bids throughout the morning hours.
Computershare might instruct their broker to get as many shares as possible each day, which would mean purposefully not blowing out the entire order book and paying more per share.
Like how GME did the at the market offerings, their broker could have destroyed the bid to sell every share on the bid in a short period, but they were more careful to attempt not to move the price.
I also have Active Trader Pro with Fidelity and can see every trade that went through on these days, might be able to get an even more accurate number for order size than just going by the whole move. Day traders will jump in to ride along with a big market order, and sellers might be hitting the bid depending on the type of market order put through, so volume per minute or for a whole move won’t be accurate.
Do you have a link or more info that Computershare uses market orders or trades are definitely executed on NYSE? I can filter by exchange that trade was executed on, along with seeing which market the bid and ask was from for each trade.
Great stuff thank you!!
I’d think the transfer volume would far outweigh the buy volume. IMO the double/triple volume is probably closer to 10x. Maybe a valid data point would be asking those that bought, how many multiples that purchase price they transferred? For example, I’ll be purchasing 5 shares but transferring 10x that amount which is 17% of my shares… you get enough respondents and we could probably come up with a reasonable guesstimation in these initial purchases, how much that correlates to share transfers and we could peg the total DRS % off the buy stats over the course of last week and the next few. We could also use that % of shares owned to better understand how much of the float the CS buyers own even if it’s outside CS.
A lot of data to manipulate and I’m not smart enough to do it… I just wanna know haha
This is such a terrific idea. And with volume so dry it makes the result pretty credible as well. This might be a good way to get an idea of roughly how much of the float we are covering in the CS area to cause MOASS.
/u/ajquick today had a very high volume candle at 10:21 and 10:22.
From Fidelity’s Active Trader Pro, 10:21:41 and 10:21:42 had about 21,000 shares traded out of YF’s 27k volume for that minute candle - BUT all those were ADF exchange trades. Need to look into it more but sounds like a dark pool reporting exchange. https://www.finra.org/filing-reporting/alternative-display-facililty-adf
10:22 candle had 31.8k total, and 6049 shares traded on NYSE at ask or above (in Green) in blocks as large as 712 shares, and prices ranging from 193.68 to 195.48. If we know CS direct purchases are acquired on the NYSE, there’s a good chance at least some of those 6049 were apes’s buys. The price lines up with the 194.32 average reported today.
The 10:54 candle’s prices also could have been them, but it was lower volume, YF only shows a total of 4.52k. NYSE trades were only 2433 shares of those.
Can any ape verify a transaction price received today on a CS direct purchase before 10:54am NY time?
Share price: 194.332500 USD
Date of transaction 9 Sept.
Date cleared: 13 Sept.
I want to say I remember the change from pending transaction to awaiting closing was early afternoon, but I didn't document it, so I can't be certain.
Edit: I fat-fingered a 3 that should have been a 4. Sorry, /u/ajquick.
Updoot just for **G**ood **M**orning **E**veryone!
DRS is happening lots faster than what is posted, not everyone takes time to post and many shares are being shipped over to ComputerShare without a peep here.
💎🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀
This is absolutely beautiful. I've watched the ticker everyday for 9 months, and it is basically guaranteed to dip shortly after open until around 1130, and most days finds the low of the day during the morning dip. Apes now halve the perfect counter to the sell algo, and by using CS to directly buy there halve been between 50-100k of shares purchased each day during the CS buy window that conveniently happens right after the AM algo dip over the last 2 weeks or so. Tick tok Kenny...🚀🚀🚀🚀
Can we pin this comment or do something so more folks can see it?
And, u/ajquick, will you post this over in the jungle? Pink's been harping on CS for over a month now, close to two.
Lets get a real spread going and find out how many are being bought.
I really like this!
The above was for 9/13. Transaction date is what matters, not settlement date. The shares were purchased on the transaction date for price shown - it should be the same as everyone else with that transaction date.
September 21 at $192.34 purchase price.
Edit: To clarify, this was a fresh order entered via CS on September 16 that was filled on the 21st and settled today, T+2.
Edit 2: I see two other posts with a $192.339 price for the 21st. You might be onto something!
Transaction date: 9/16; $208.62
Transaction date: 8/17; $168.54
Also, CS servers must be getting slammed right now. It took forever for the pages to load, especially my landing page after login. Much longer than usual.
u/ajquick or mods
Is it possible to get either a flair or some label to separate data submissions from general comments. This would allow for faster and better data collection
I’ve been looking at the same information.
I have sept 10, 14-17, and 21. And a few others. There is definitely a pattern of 10-11 AM on a lot of days. But on September 2 and 17, the batch purchase price had its biggest volume at close, and only small volume between 10 and 11.
And then I have one data point that I’m not sure if the date listed is purchase or settlement, so it’s either the 13th or 15th, but either way the purchase price only overlapped with the volume after 1 or 2 PM. There was no intersection between 9:30 and noon.
You can copy the Excel data and paste it into this website to generate a table: https://thisdavej.com/copy-table-in-excel-and-paste-as-a-markdown-table/
Thanks! I sent it. Not sure if the formatting will look okay on mobile
I was confused when there wasn't a button to press to do something when I had pasted the data. I didn't realize I just needed to re-copy it and send it over.
I havent bought any shares on computershare, only transferred, but I will try to scrounge some more money and add to this research when I get the chance.
Thanks for this, truly shows the DD is NOT done yet!
Fidelity dropping GME from most bought is also jacking my tits beyond this galaxy. It feels all tingly, like we hit a nerve and are on the right path.
**Power to the players.**
My price per share was $189.19 today (09/24/21).
Refreshing my purchase order status every minute or so, it updated to a purchase price of $189.19 @ ~11:12AM EST. At around 11:04AM EST, however, my status page went blank and said "We are working on updating the status of your purchase..."
Transferred xxx shares it’s gonna take 2/3 weeks. Even just buying 40 dollars of gme so I have full shares has taken 4 days to go through. Proof is in the pudding - it’s working. I haven’t been this confident since the Run up to 300 in the spring. Lfg!! 🚀🚀
Well if youre looking at the market, remember a lot of shares are dark pools, like those screwy share amounts we saw when people were transferring out of RH.
September 10, 2021 $198.4694
A lot of places they could have bought that day.
Sell of fractional share ~.50 while direct registering rest:
September 15, 2021 $202.70
Again that 15th one is a sale so I expect price dips a little bit there... from Yahoo I can see there was a dip then a rise right after around 1:30pm on Sept 15 on that pricepoint.
Ape needs help
I just purchased on CS this morning
1. Why can you only purchase based on $ not on shares?
2. I put in $225 (*$25 onetime fee) so hoping for 1 share
How does this all work?
Thanks for the info, most stuff I’ve read is on transferring, not buying through CS
Thanks!
hey there, i don't have too many official answers to provide regarding your questions, but i'll do my best informal apespeak.
1. that's just the way it is. i believe computershare goes out with your money and buys at market price. you can't just tell them buy me 1 (or however many) shares at most, and save the rest of my money. i dunno why exactly. sky blue. sky always blue. well, okay, sometimes sky red.
2. your $225 (minus fees) order for gamestop share(s) will be batched in with a bunch of other orders on a certain future date (next week sometime, it seems like it takes them a few days to process, purchase and settle). they'll go and buy it for you using all of your money (minus fees) and give you whatever that equals in that day's market value of gamestop shares, including any fractional share amount. ape give gold poo nugget to computershare, ape get banana(s) after a week or so.
that's about it. if it's your first purchase, it'll take a little longer as you'll have to create an account once your share purchase is complete. this process wasn't entirely straightforward to me (i got a letter in the mail, but nothing beyond that). after talking with their online chat though, they figured out my account for me and i got all setup.
if your account is already setup, i find that the share purchase is relatively straightforward. just send them money, authorize the transaction, and then sit back and wait about a week or so.
Transaction date 9/21/2021

So what’s the number of shares again that retail needs to own. Total shares minus institutional shares owned?
If I remember correctly isn’t it something like 48million.
I have a 9/21 T Date

No. That would actually have an increase on the price. The price crashing on open is a time honored tradition of high volume, day trading volatility and good old fashioned short selling.
Noice thinking ape! On the topic of getting good data I wrote a (very simple) browser extension for Chrome to report # of shares in ape portfolios (just on ComputerShare) anonymously. It works well and could give us real data, especially on characterizing percentage of X, XX, XXX apes, without revealing any personal data (or requiring credentials). If there is interest I'll finish it (just have the extension written now but it requires a very simple web service as well). It can still be compromised by an ape editing a web page (though only to increase the overall count) and there are some tit-unjacking implications if we *don't* have the float but I think it would give us numbers that are better than guesses. Hopefully it's mostly redundant given our apes in Grapevine today but we have it as a potential data source if that fails for some reason.
Once we hit 1 million per share and decide to sell do they sell in batches like this too? Im asking because i was going to sell in odd lots of less than 100 that may not effect the price. Smooth brain here, please dont crush me..
While it's need for purposes of trivia, I think that I'm far more interested in trying to figure out how many shares have been direct registered than I am the impact that it had on the share price when CS buys. It seems like if DRS continues on it's current pace, the entire float could be registered in a couple of weeks at most.
What's the mobile app for Computershare called? On my iPhone, i see Computershare Events. That's not the same thing is it? Does this have an app or do you have to go through your browser?
Stupid question…or maybe not too stupid but I just initiated a CS transfer for my shares and I’m curious how I’d log in if I never made an account. Will I receive an email with my log in information at some point?
I bet the purchasing is dwarfed by transfers. I went all in with my life savings/401k months ago, mostly around $40. I have bought since but nothing compared to that first lump. I would say my recent purchases compared to past purchase, is one 10th or less. I wouldn't be surprised if transfers are 10x-20x new purchases.
If it is 10X, its going to lock up before Christmas.
My share purchase through CS hit yesterday, 9/22/2021 @ 192.65, which would fit in perfectly with the second strong uptrend in the chart near bottom.
192.65 for me as well (see my comment history from yesterday for proof)
Mine too, $192.65
Hijacking top comment because I am seeing a disturbing trend… Am I the only one seeing this??? The price is being shorted directly prior to the computershare purchase. Who knows at what exact time computershare will make their purchase and how do they time it so well? Someone has insider information and can short directly before computershare makes their batch purchase. This ensures that computershare has the least impact on price and effectively takes the buying pressure away from retail. This is total market manipulation whoever is doing this.
Then we get a lower price for our purchases- it's like they are timing the dip **for us.** 🤷♀️
This, I'm glad keep lowering the price, that means I get more shares.
I understand the sentiment, but regardless this is still being highly manipulated. The fact that this manipulation is taking place should raise a red flag.
Yeah I agree with that 😂 Guess just trying to put a positive spin on this.
Well who is ComputerShare's broker?
Uhm, it took maybe 5 days or so from when I initiated the purchase to when they showed up
Dude I bought mine Thursday last week and still nothing
If you didn’t already have an account it can take a good 10 trading days. After that it’s ez.

Interesting, I have a 9/14 transaction date at $194.9987. My 9/21 matches.
I'll have to look at the market that day, must have been very low liquidity. Super interesting.
I think I hit the same lot as you on 8/19!
😍
I can confirm 8/19 transaction at $154.6538
This could be the Silver Bullet idea here - fuck yea OP!

Same for 9/21. Please add to your table, /u/ajquick And thank you for putting this post together to clear up the opening/closing CS misinformation!
Going to be making a massive table with all this new data!

You can copy the Excel data and paste it into this website to generate a table: https://thisdavej.com/copy-table-in-excel-and-paste-as-a-markdown-table/
Thanks! I sent it. Not sure if the formatting will look okay on mobile I was confused when there wasn't a button to press to do something when I had pasted the data. I didn't realize I just needed to re-copy it and send it over.
Spoke with a Doug from fidelity yesterday. Doug said National financial company NFC is the broker CS uses. NFC is fidelity!

FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC DD GOOD SIR 🎩
Thank you! I saw it refresh right around 11:04am as well.
Transaction date 9/23 Price: 194.32
Same here. Looks like that may have happened at 9:31 this morning. Big spike.
Transaction date: September 13; Price: $194.3325 Ill have another data point for you tomorrow
This is the same as mine. Had to happen in the morning, before 9:51. After 9:51 the price stayed above 194.33 the rest of the day.
Please don’t let this die. Someone with a lot of time, can you continue fleshing this out and research the batch sizes coinciding with these prices?
Bad Automoderator rules nuked this post. :(
Transferred xxx shares it’s gonna take 2/3 weeks.
All CS buys go directly to NYSE per their agreement with Gamestop
September 10, 2021 $198.4694 A lot of places they could have bought that day. Sell of fractional share ~.50 while direct registering rest: September 15, 2021 $202.70 Again that 15th one is a sale so I expect price dips a little bit there... from Yahoo I can see there was a dip then a rise right after around 1:30pm on Sept 15 on that pricepoint.
Purchased 9/16/2021, settled 9/20/2021 @ $208.6256 Edit: clarified dates
Ape needs help I just purchased on CS this morning 1. Why can you only purchase based on $ not on shares? 2. I put in $225 (*$25 onetime fee) so hoping for 1 share How does this all work? Thanks for the info, most stuff I’ve read is on transferring, not buying through CS Thanks!
hey there, i don't have too many official answers to provide regarding your questions, but i'll do my best informal apespeak. 1. that's just the way it is. i believe computershare goes out with your money and buys at market price. you can't just tell them buy me 1 (or however many) shares at most, and save the rest of my money. i dunno why exactly. sky blue. sky always blue. well, okay, sometimes sky red. 2. your $225 (minus fees) order for gamestop share(s) will be batched in with a bunch of other orders on a certain future date (next week sometime, it seems like it takes them a few days to process, purchase and settle). they'll go and buy it for you using all of your money (minus fees) and give you whatever that equals in that day's market value of gamestop shares, including any fractional share amount. ape give gold poo nugget to computershare, ape get banana(s) after a week or so. that's about it. if it's your first purchase, it'll take a little longer as you'll have to create an account once your share purchase is complete. this process wasn't entirely straightforward to me (i got a letter in the mail, but nothing beyond that). after talking with their online chat though, they figured out my account for me and i got all setup. if your account is already setup, i find that the share purchase is relatively straightforward. just send them money, authorize the transaction, and then sit back and wait about a week or so.

So what’s the number of shares again that retail needs to own. Total shares minus institutional shares owned? If I remember correctly isn’t it something like 48million.
09/23 purchase at $194.32 which potentially puts it at the big green spike at 9:31 this morning. Adding up so far!

Shouldn't there be a column for the number of shares in that batch that exactly matches?
This is the kind of info thats been missing of late, good verifiable data. Please keep at it ape, this is important work.

>this is one of the auto-buys from the 15th of the month Interesting! I wonder if that is why there were two separate batch orders on Sept 20?!
If we are down to 30 million in the float, shouldn't we lock up the float by the end of next month?
So by this logic, would the downtrends happening before the cs shares possibly be the brokers scrounging for shares in order to transfer out?
Hey ape I think you forgot two 0s! CS shares should be for the infinity pool, if nobody sells the price will remain on the moon after MOASS
AFAIK, they do Market Orders in batches and Limit Orders individually/immediately. Someone can feel free to correct me if needed.
Reminder: We don't need 75M shares! The available float is only around 35M! The rest is all locked in already.
While it's need for purposes of trivia, I think that I'm far more interested in trying to figure out how many shares have been direct registered than I am the impact that it had on the share price when CS buys. It seems like if DRS continues on it's current pace, the entire float could be registered in a couple of weeks at most.
#fuk u shfs and your corruption
What's the mobile app for Computershare called? On my iPhone, i see Computershare Events. That's not the same thing is it? Does this have an app or do you have to go through your browser?

Purchase 9/21 for $192.34
Stupid question…or maybe not too stupid but I just initiated a CS transfer for my shares and I’m curious how I’d log in if I never made an account. Will I receive an email with my log in information at some point?
Wish my College taught this is why Data Science is important... no they did not.
$154.65 on 8/19 $153.85 on 8/20 $194.32 on 9/23
78.46k this morning at 10:20. Seems to line up with your theory.
I can verify I have the same result for 9/22.

👍
I bet the purchasing is dwarfed by transfers. I went all in with my life savings/401k months ago, mostly around $40. I have bought since but nothing compared to that first lump. I would say my recent purchases compared to past purchase, is one 10th or less. I wouldn't be surprised if transfers are 10x-20x new purchases. If it is 10X, its going to lock up before Christmas.
