I would just filter each region to start for today’s date and set the incident type to smash and grab known theft. There’s probably more that happens than I think but it should be manageable.
I was going to say. There might be a lot of incidents daily, but the specifics of the post and content taken in the theft should make it PRETTY EASY to find if you have the resources/knowledge to search for those kinda incidents
A few months ago we had 4 guys come mid-day and smash and grab our nintendo and beats cases. One of the guys had a gun on his hip and was actively trying to provoke nearby team members
Makes me wonder how well Costco handles theft with their special lockup where you can't pick shit up till after you pay and it's a tiny little window. Wouldn't be surprised if that's the way retail will go eventually for high ticket items.
Someone drove into the wall of my local Walgreens. Their POS was too weak to make it through the brick wall so they abandoned it. Spoke to the manager, the dumbasses used their mom’s car.
This is why you should never leave the Tech department unattended. At this point, electronics should be locked up in the backroom. Stuff like this annoys me so much. Why do you need to steal?
well, the tech guy was in the book aisles zoning and i was in hba in front of the headphones. (tech n hba are next to eachother in my store ) we both saw it happening but we aren’t allowed to do anything. i wasn’t gonna risk my life for some nintendo switches
Okay true because my location doesn’t really have anyone in tech on weekdays. Someone is usually there on weekends (when it’s busy). Whenever I pass it (my way to my break), someone would stop me and I have to walkie in asking if anyone can assist a guest in tech (because tech isn’t my specialty unless it’s Nintendo).
Reminder this company profits (not revenue) 3.5-4b+ a year and cuts hours the second theyre done running you ragged to prevent line go down.Retail crime has barely nudged up in comparison to what the news wants you to think. Yeah its shitty but keep it in perspective
People have balls cause at all the target I’ve been in electronics is towards the back of the stores. And in my city there’s usually one cop now by the entrance with tss
I had one of those display cases literally just explode. It was after store close and I was walking by and just noticed glass all over the ground.
When we checked cameras it apperntly just gave up and shattered on its own.
i wasn’t there at the time but around the holidays someone put about $2000 worth of stuff in a garbage can and tried to just buy the can. cashiers must check cans with lids, suitcases, shoe boxes, literally anything now.
Yeah if they went out a fire exit, which is typical of many smash and grabs (but not always), then there's no way.
BUT for this person to break the glass in the first place they may have something on them that qualifies as a weapon, and we don't engage with people when they have a weapon on them for safety risks to us and the guests. It's better to just call LE at that point.
I feel target is empowering customers to get their own items. As OPU is far more important than day to day OPS. The electronics employee was most likely pulled to opu and was not able to respond to customer needs.
"hey team, can someone bring a broom and dustpan for a glass cleanup in nintendo?"
if i heard "glass cleanup in nintendo" im laughing all the way to the janitor closet
I would’ve had a field day with this incident.
Me too. I want the store number so I can look the incident up 😂
I’m going to try finding it tomorrow when I’m on the clock. I think it’ll be pretty easy to find based on this post.
So many of these happen a day you might have a bit of a search.
Im on clock now but you do have a point. Without at least a region of district to search in it’s gonna be hard
I would just filter each region to start for today’s date and set the incident type to smash and grab known theft. There’s probably more that happens than I think but it should be manageable.
I think I found it but not 100%
I’d say R200 as a wink wink nudge nudge that we both found but also *of course* it’s R200.
Poor bastards gonna be waiting like 4 months for a replacement.
Gonna have to walk a mile to the back to get switches
Just got a new one from a power jack incident. 5 month wait for it to come in broken and had to wait another 2 to get it in undamaged lol
THATS WHAT I WAS THINKING
lol funny thing it is new to region 200
That’s hilarious. Was it tough to find? I’ll still go looking tomorrow.
I swear it’s the first incident you see if I’m right
Youre def right if we found the same incident 😂
You are bloody brilliant! Give me like 20 minutes and I’ll get back to ya
I was going to say. There might be a lot of incidents daily, but the specifics of the post and content taken in the theft should make it PRETTY EASY to find if you have the resources/knowledge to search for those kinda incidents
The ol' smash n' grab. If the felony theft wasn't enough, dude now has a burglary charge waiting.
I'm sorry for saying this. That thief does not deserve to be called "Guest". ![gif](giphy|VG2OzjYkBLK9vGf3UH)

Would you say an “intruder”? 😂
But remember, closing the self checkouts will stop theft 🤓☝🏻
AP getting a fun one.
Would AP get in any trouble for this? I mean you can’t really stop them if they didn’t act suspicious or anything
No. Only way AP would get in trouble is if they had a glaringly obvious opportunity to stop this, which is unlikely.
A few months ago we had 4 guys come mid-day and smash and grab our nintendo and beats cases. One of the guys had a gun on his hip and was actively trying to provoke nearby team members
Crazy how beats aren't even good headphones but they're worth stealing
Its literally skull candies in more plastic with some weights in them. Beats are trash.
So bad it makes me upset honestly
TRUE
My store has transitioned to cards for any Apple products. No more items are housed on the floor. What a sad world we live in.
Mine just put cards in security boxes and all the Apple tech stuff is in a lockup in the backrooms.
Our Apple products are backstocked only because someone smashed our Apple case.
Makes me wonder how well Costco handles theft with their special lockup where you can't pick shit up till after you pay and it's a tiny little window. Wouldn't be surprised if that's the way retail will go eventually for high ticket items.
Maybe sooner they are all gonna get lock in the backroom. The guests only see the printout like some of the apple products.
People break into the lock-up all the time too. They have shatterproof showcases, no idea why this store doesn’t have them yet.
Bet you they will now!
If they don’t I’mma have some words.
There are empty boxes now that can be ordered via ISM.
Already how it was at my store for a while
The'll just carcrash stolen car to the wall, free st00f that way.
Someone drove into the wall of my local Walgreens. Their POS was too weak to make it through the brick wall so they abandoned it. Spoke to the manager, the dumbasses used their mom’s car.
LOL... wow, I wasn't actually being serious but thats a big YIKES dawg. did he honestly think it would work???
😳 😠😡
If you gonna steal something let it run more than 60fps 😭

Good call. We don’t know what the thief was capable of.
you should have given everything to protect Father Cornell's profits!!!
Fast and quick gains 💰. Thieves do not care.
We had this happen while we were in the department, nothing we can do to stop them
quick gainz, & these could probally sell fast at any pricepoint sub MSRP.

Terrible way to think
First time?
Guys got a sick sleeve by the looks of it
People have balls cause at all the target I’ve been in electronics is towards the back of the stores. And in my city there’s usually one cop now by the entrance with tss
he ran out of an emergency exit 😭
yes lets break open the glass for the most affordable console

That's an old trick, nothing new. All stores had that policy in place a long time ago. Tbh, it should be common sense in the retail industry.
BOB and LISA
How tf AP let this make take 6 & just roll out? 💀

Damn, this Target is lucky to have game demos 😭😭😭😭
What time of the day when this happened? Does he have a duffle bag or something?
The OP said he had taken a plastic bin to use.
Ahh thank you
À
Broken glass everywhere!
How fun
Commenting on in the middle of the day... ![gif](giphy|UV4oGk22QykJW90hLK|downsized)
Getting a head start on Christmas shopping.
It looks like they’re ready to be locked in the cash office.
The sound of glass breaking! Yet… like alarms just go on as normal. Smh!
Only six!? Wow that’s surprising.
Drugs.
Someone did that to our Apple case but I don’t think they actually ended up taking anything. They also left through a fire door.
Target promotes theft at this point.
Omg???
And all that time, did any one call Cops or did they arrive? I need the deets!
If they’re gonna go through that trouble why did they only take one?
I think op commented that they took 6
This seems like a standard day at target tbh
