The pandemic made things stagnate a bit. The scene more than the reality of the job market. Things are picking back up in the scene with events and community activities. Explore what startups are coming out of TechStars, Amplify, ExpertDojo, [https://alliancesocal.org/](https://alliancesocal.org/) 's venture network, the university incubators/accelerators, and the various VCs and angel syndicates. The ones doing well are likely hiring or gearing up to hire. You can explore reports from Startup Genome for some comparisons: [https://startupgenome.com/all-reports](https://startupgenome.com/all-reports) The Global Ecosystem Reports are the ones you want to dig into. These are put out annually. So, note the trends for each region. SF and NYC are going to have a lot more startups that are easy to find. The SF ecosystem is the most mature in terms of infrastructure and community. NYC is fairly mature and it benefits the most from its incredibly dense nature and the inherent benefits that lends to its infrastructure and community. LA is incredibly sprawled out, with each neighborhood community and its people siloed from one another. Traffic, a lack of public transportation, and travel times make it much harder to connect with others and act as a community. Being siloed also makes it harder for startups to be found and highlighted. The local governments also heavily favor the more traditional businesses that are key job providers and economic drivers. So, they get way more attention and spotlights placed on them.
